Chasidic Jew from Monsey leads effort to fight coronavirus
Chaim Lebovits, a Chassidic shoe wholesaler from Monsey, New York, is leading an effort to get the New York City area’s Orthodox Jews who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate their blood plasma en masse, so that it can be used as a therapy by people still battling the coronavirus.
The Forward reported that Lebovits has been working for weeks to create a network of rabbis, religious organizations, virus researchers, health professionals and hospital administrators to educate Orthodox Jews about the benefits of plasma donation, as well as testing them and receiving their blood.
So far, Lebovits said, more than 3,000 people — mostly men — have donated plasma at blood banks around the region, and 6,000 more are being tested on Wednesday to see if they have the antibodies that would enable them to be able to donate plasma.

Did Zantac Cause Your Cancer?
Rachel exercised regularly, maintained a healthy diet, and had no family history of cancer. But she still got breast cancer and she still died. Rachel’s family and Rachel’s doctors were at a complete loss. It wasn’t until the news about Zantac’s link to cancer swept across the world that it all made sense: it appears that Zantac caused Rachel’s cancer.
Before Rachel passed away, she started researching Zantac’s connection to cancer and what she unearthed was astounding. Valisure, a Connecticut-based laboratory, discovered that Zantac turns into the extremely potent, cancer-causing carcinogen, N-nitrosodimethylamine (“NDMA”) within the body. This carcinogen, which was originally used for rocket fuel, is so potent that its only practical purpose today is to induce tumors in laboratory animals to study cancer!
Even some of the most conservative testing protocols, such as the testing performed by Emery Pharma which did not show as much NDMA as Valisure’s testing, still generated enough NDMA that just one 150mg tablet of Zantac has at least as much carcinogenic impact on the human body as smoking 30 PACKS OF CIGARETTES.

Zoom Has New Feature To Eliminate Those Who Hack Into Conversations
Zoom is rolling out a new feature to help users fight pervs and trolls who hijack their video meetings.
The videoconferencing company said it will put a new button in its app to let meeting hosts report misbehaving users directly to Zoom’s “Trust and Safety team,” which will evaluate the problem and block the offending user if warranted.
The feature will be included in an update to Zoom’s app due to roll out this Sunday, according to the company. It’s meant to address the phenomenon of “Zoom-bombing,” in which miscreants interrupt virtual meetings by shouting obscenities, displaying bigoted images or putting porn on the screen.
The incidents have plagued schools and government agencies, which have been forced to start using Zoom amid lockdowns meant to curb the coronavirus pandemic. The attacks have occurred often enough in recent weeks that the FBI issued a warning about them last month.
Silicon Valley-based Zoom has an online form where users can report attacks, but the new app feature is meant to make the process easier, according to PC Mag, which first reported on the update.
“That report button will be added to the security menu,” Oded Gal, Zoom’s chief product officer, said in a webinar last week hosted by the Anti-Defamation League. “That helps us capture information about what happened in the meeting.”
Zoom-bombing is one of several security problems the company has had to address as users flocked to its service during the virus crisis. Zoom is facing a shareholder lawsuit over concerns that it lacked adequate data privacy measures and put users at risk of having their information accessed without their permission. The firm has pledged to address security and privacy issues over 90 days in response to such complaints.

While Monsey Askanim Are Silent About Secret Minyanim .... The Virus in Monsey is Skyrocketing
While Rome is burning, Askanim are playing with their fiddles"
I was on social media yesterday and saw how "leaders" and "askanim"of the Monsey and Rockland County communities are bad mouthing and supporting bullies that are terrorizing those who are begging their neighbors to follow the rules.. not go to minyanim...
Instead of putting their efforts into protecting their constituents that are unfortunately succumbing to the virus, instead of calling out those who are secretly making minyanim, spreading disease and death in Monsey and its environs .... they hang out on social media in an effort to squash dissent ..they say .... Oh that's "Moitzeh Shem Ra" and are personally attacking me for publishing the truth!
One of the askanim was forced to take down his message that warned of the dire consequences of people congregating ...stating that his posting of a threatening photo that Chassidishe terrorists were posting about him and two others was bad mouthing Monsey......hellllllowwww?? Is anyone home? Hey Mr. askin .. if you cannot take the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen... let others that won't be intimidated by these losers take over!
One frum elected leader keeps calling Ed Day an anti-Semite for trying to enforce NYS regulations ....now I am no fan of Ed Day and I actually think he is an anti-semite ..but he didn't kill anyone ... did he? ...... this frum elected leader is a coward because he has yet to make ONE statement that his own constituents are the ones killing their neighbors ......
I understand that they don't want the media to target the frum communities ....now is not the time to deal with this.... now is the time to stop the the spreading of this virus in our community ASAP ... we will deal with the inevitable anti-semites after we catch our collective breath ...
Look at the numbers released by NEW YORK STATE ... and weep at what is happening to our community ... people that survived the worst tragedy in Jewish history have succumbed to the virus ... that generation is being decimated with the most painful death .....
Most of this can be prevented .... but the "leaders" are actively covering up for those who are encouraging minyanim and other gatherings .... they refuse to call them out and are trying to intimidate, bully and yes, terrorize people that are trying to stem and minimize the damage ....
Monsey people who unfortunately had the disease are begging and crying that people should adhere to the social distancing regulations...but as long as the "leaders" and "askanim" are deaf to these cries ... and instead fighting against exposing the violaters ... and screaming like fools... "Motze Shem Ra" nothing will be done ! Nothing
Please G-D ..."When will this misery end?"

Stop Minyanim! “We will turn into Boro Park, Lakewood or Monsey,” – Rosh Yeshiva of Aish HaTorah
Message from Rabbi Yitzchak Berkovits, Rosh Yeshiva of Aish HaTorah:
“I have been davening on my rooftop (being mitztaref to a minyan down below) from where I get to see the goings on in the area.
The matzav is out of control. People are dreying around without masks, minyanim allegedly keeping to the rules but in reality are nothing more than “kosher style” without masks, krias haTorah is as usual and the two meters observed for Shmoneh Esrei at best. It seems as if people are under the misconception that the government’s decision to allow outdoor minyanim is an “all clear” sign and that the danger is ostensibly over.
Let’s face it, adhering to the rules in a minyan is not so practical and is just not happening.
Even if you believe your minyan is the exception, we must make a statement.
We must not Chas V’Sholom turn into another Boro Park, Lakewood or Monsey.
The mashchis has not been mavchin. It has attacked yereim ushleimim, manhigim and roshei yeshiva no less than any other part of the population, if not more. Who has the right to claim bitachon on the cheshbon of chalilah infecting others and endangering their lives?
I urge our kehilla and the entire Anglo community in Eretz Yisroel to go back to the mirpesset minyanim or davening b’yichidus. I am r”l in shloshim for my father hc”m and have yet to daven far amud once. I am sure that in today’s situation, urging the tzibbur to take things seriously is a greater zechus.
Nobody in this world knows if, when and how this is going to end. Gedolei Yisroel will have to determine how to maintain Talmud Torah for young and old without recklessly endangering the tzibbur. The danger of worldwide rifyon is more serious than the threat of Coronavirus, and we do not have the right to be mekil on either front.
For now, I would suggest that all of you are mischazek in your own davening (aren’t 9 and 10AM Shachris minyanim in public during an eis tzarah something of a chilul HaSHeM?) and maintain for yourselves sedorim in your regular learning as well as in sforim that inspire more Ahava and Yirah. And of course, take advantage of everyone homebound in strengthening the family bond.
And May HaSHeM Hear our tefillos and bring not only a yeshuah from the mageifeh, but the geulah sheleimah bimheira.

Peter Weiss Succumbs to Corona ........ Childhood Friend of DIN
I knew Peter for over 50 years, but I found this hespid in JewishVues that sums it all up ....
April 13 2020, the third day of
Chol hamoed Pesach, will unfortunately always be etched
in my heart. That was the day I lost
my dear friend R’ Shloime Zev Weiss
z”l, affectionately known as Peter.
I recently heard from R’ Shaul Alter Shlita, Gerrer Rosh Yeshiva, that Pesach is
a zman Simcha, and therefore עצבות
is prohibited. However לב שברון coupled with שמחה ,is not a contradiction
Peter and I got to know each other almost 20 years ago. He had the character trait of שווים ופיו לבו .He said it the
way he saw it. He wouldn’t mince any
words. He gave you the straight scoop.
He was a smart man. His advice was
on the money, whether you liked it or
not
He started davening in Agudas Yisroel Bais Binyomin around the time
that Rav Breuer Shlita became Rov
of the shul. His love for torah had no
bounds and he wanted to absorb all he
could from this Talmid Chochom. We
started learning bechavrusa about 10
years ago.
Peter’s knowledge of Torah
was immense and his love for Torah
was genuine. When we would start
our learning, I would often tell him a
דבדיחותא מילתא .If I took too long, he
would turn to me and say “Herr aufmit die shtissim, lommer lernen a bissel”.

New York Pulls Back Do Not Resuscitate Order Amid Coronavirus
New York State has abruptly nixed a controversial new directive that asked first responders to not work on patients who didn’t have a pulse upon arrival to the scene.
The drastic move was announced by New York State in a memo last week.
Before the change, the protocol was to spend 20 minutes working on patients in cardiac arrest. But according to the state Health Department memo, the decision to roll that back was “necessary during the COVID-19 response to protect the health and safety of EMS providers by limiting their exposure, conserve resources, and ensure optimal use of equipment to save the greatest number of lives.”
New York first responders didn’t take kindly to the new directive, according to The Post.
“They’re not giving people a second chance to live anymore,’’ says Oren Barzilay, who is head of the city union which includes EMTs and paramedics as members.
“Our job is to bring patients back to life. This guideline takes that away from us,” he continued.
