I literally had the same upbringing and I can relate so deeply to her story.. I’ve been listening to the morning show since 6th grade (while also in an all girls ultra orthodox school) and I’m in grad school right now and still, I get up every morning and listen to the morning show on the way to school. Thank you guys for being with me throughout my happiest/saddest/hardest moments of my life ♥️🤗

What an amazing story. The Elvis Duran show has touched so many. I bet we all have a favorite story of how the show has affected us.

From a fellow Jewess, @yehudis_m keep the good parts of Judaism and let the parts you felt restricted you go. Explore the world through who you are and you will find yourself in exactly the place you need to be. You are certainly brave for leaving your childhood community! Good luck and have fun!

In all likelihood, he nebach gave up her chances of getting married and having a nice size family...for pants and Kitkat. So sad.
I know her family from Monsey. They are actually a very open minded family and extremely nice parents as well. I think she is a great kid trying to explore the world just like any other modern-orthodox/secular kid. Am very happy for her getting a job in such an interesting workplace. She is not talking down her former community. I only wish kids like her would know that wearing pants and eating kitkat doesn't make you a non-jew. They should learn that you can still enjoy the beauty of the Torah and and being shomer shabbos even with pants. As far as I know she is fully in touch with her family and they love her very much.
