Georgia congresswoman announces plans to impeach Biden

Joe Biden Family Corruption

As the US House of Representatives approved articles of impeachment against President Trump, a Georgia congresswoman says she will take steps to impeach Biden the day after he is sworn in.

“On January 21st, I’m filing Articles of Impeachment on President-elect Joe Biden,” Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted on Thursday.

“75 million Americans are fed up with inaction. It’s time to take a stand. I’m proud to be the voice of Republican voters who have been ignored,” she added.

Speaking to Newsmax, Taylor Greene, who was elected to Congress in November and represents Georgia's 14th Congressional District, said “we have to make sure our leaders are held accountable."

"We cannot have a president of the United States who is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, Chinese and Ukrainian energy companies,” she explained.

Biden Presidency Will Bring More and More Chaos and Eliminate Freedom of Speech

It is an article of faith for many Americans that the Donald Trump years were an aberration and that Joe Biden will usher in something close to normalcy. I’ll take the other side of that bet.

I believe the coming years are going to be at least as tumultuous as the Trump presidency. Although Biden will not directly cause that tumult, his weakness as a leader, of his own party and the nation, will help fuel discord and make it impossible for him to forge anything resembling normalcy.

Most of those who think Biden can wave a magic wand blame Trump alone for the deep polarization gripping America. They’re wrong — Trump was elected precisely because the country already was deeply polarized

Moreover, while Trump’s personality is highly unorthodox, to say the least, he did not single-handedly set in motion the dangerous levels of strife engulfing our nation. His successful policies on immigration, taxes and the Mideast were fairly conventional by Republican standards.

Instead, the unrest and growing use of violence to achieve political ends are outgrowths of the extreme resistance movement against Trump. He ran as a disrupter, but was a piker compared to those who hated him and were willing to smash every social, political and legal norm to drive him from office.

That resistance was started by Hillary Clinton and holdouts from the 2016 election and spread to Democrats in Congress, especially Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. Their refusal to treat Trump as a legitimate president and worthy of their cooperation marks them as early victims of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Gold's horseradish, Fox's U-Bet syrups to shutter LI plant

I have no clue why they called it an "Egg Cream" when it had no eggs!
It's made with Fox's u-bet chocolate syrup, milk and cold seltzer, you mix it together and you get a foam on time like beer ...

The maker of Gold's horseradish and Fox's U-Bet syrups plans to shutter its Hempstead plant and lay off 48 employees, according to a state filing.

Gold's Pure Foods LLC will sell its equipment and vacate the facility at 1 Brooklyn Rd. in Hempstead by March 31, when the lease expires, the company said.

A statement from Bob Helland, executive vice president, sales & marketing for Gold's Pure Foods, cited the COVID-19 pandemic, aging manufacturing equipment and "changes in the marketplace" for the shutdown.

"We are exploring options to continue the production of our world famous Gold's horseradish, mustard, specialty soups and sauces along with our Fox's line up of U-Bet syrups," he said. "We do not anticipate any disruption in the distribution or supply chain."

Unionized workers at the plant are represented by Teamsters Local 802, which declined to comment.

The Gold's and Fox's brands, both originating from Brooklyn, strike a note of nostalgia for many Long Islanders who themselves migrated from the boroughs.

Gold's horseradish, which sponsored a string of New York Mets bobblehead promotions, has long been a staple on many Passover tables. U-Bet syrups are widely used in egg creams, a quintessential New York City beverage.

The company, founded in 1932, was owned by the Gold family until 2015, when it was acquired for an undisclosed sum by Chicago-based LaSalle Capital.

Marc Gold, who was a co-owner of the business, said he was alerted to the planned Hempstead closing by a former customer and was unaware of the details.

The private equity firm did not respond to requests for comment, but its website says that it specializes in the "food and beverage ecosystem."

At the time of the sale in 2015, Marc Gold said that the new owner planned to retain all 54 employees.

After the 2015 sale, Gold's Pure Foods was folded into the Westminster Foods LLC unit of LaSalle, which includes Westminster Cracker Company based in Rutland, Vermont, according to the private equity firm's website.

Gold's horseradish was started by Marc Gold's grandparents. The company moved into the Hempstead plant in 1994.

Beginning with Hall of Fame catcher Mike Piazza in 2002, Gold's sponsored Mets bobbleheads for 13 consecutive years, ending in 2014 with outfielder Curtis Granderson.

The company's last major promotion was a garden gnome depicting pitcher Jacob deGrom in 2015, Marc Gold said.

In this original Holocaust film, a Jewish inmate makes up a language to survive

For a movie about the Holocaust, the Belarussian film “Persian Lessons” has some comic potential. Set in a concentration camp somewhere in Western Europe, it involves a Jewish inmate who survives by giving Farsi lessons to a Nazi officer who dreams about opening a restaurant in Tehran.

One problem: The inmate doesn’t speak Farsi. Instead he comes up with his own language and teaches it to his captor, trying not to raise suspicions.

If that sounds like a comedy of errors, it’s no accident. “Persian Lessons” is based on a short story by the screenwriter Wolfgang Kohlhaase, who specializes in tragicomedies. Der Spiegel describes Kohlhaase as a master of “dialogue jokes.”

But “Persian Lessons” is a somber thriller about surviving while obtaining justice against the odds. And the film sets itself apart from others in its genre in how it puts a deeply human face not only on the victims, but on the perpetrators as well.

Belarus submitted the movie for Oscar competition because it was filmed there, but it was disqualified from competition because it’s not actually about that country. Cohen Media Group acquired the North American rights to “Persian Lessons” but has yet to begin distributing the film there.

The film, which is mostly in German (and fake Farsi), begins in a truck packed with Jewish men being driven to an execution site. One man offers Gilles, a young Belgian Jew, an expensive-looking book in Persian in exchange for Gilles’ sandwich. Shortly after the transaction is made, the men are taken to the place of execution. With nothing to lose, Gilles tells the Nazi soldiers he is in fact Persian, not Jewish, and presents the book as proof.

He can hardly believe his luck when the soldiers decide to keep him alive because their commander is looking for a Farsi speaker.

Exposure of evil: How a barbaric photograph of the moment a Jewish mother and two children were executed above a mass grave condemned two of the firing squad... and inspired a historian to tell their story

The raw horror you are seeing in the photograph above — if you can bear to look — is the very last moment on earth of a Jewish family, teetering on the edge of a death pit as Nazi executioners with rifles fire from behind at point-blank range.

Gun smoke billowing round her head, the mother in a polka-dot dress clasps the hand of a stumbling, barefoot boy. She stands surprisingly upright rather than slumping to her knees.

This is because — though it is difficult to spot — she is clutching in her lap another child, seemingly a little girl with a scarf round her head.

All three are about to be exterminated, put down as Untermenschen — literally, subhumans — whose lives have no value.

A split second later, we can surmise, the back of the woman’s skull explodes, shattered by a bullet, and she slumps down dead into the mass grave below with the two little ones, their bodies adding to the hundreds of her Jewish friends and neighbours already dispatched. Cartridge casings on the ground show she is not the first to die.

But no bullet is wasted on the children — that was the SS rule. They die quickly from the fall or slowly, buried alive, crushed and suffocated by the weight of corpses thrown on top of them.

Here is the Holocaust, close up and personal, as we have rarely seen it before. The despicable murder of millions takes on a powerful, more intimate dimension.

The picture shocked even experienced and expert Holocaust historian Professor Wendy Lower when she first saw it.

Abraham Berger 40 jailed for 14 years for sexual offences involving children

A man has been jailed for committing multiple child abuse offences and sharing indecent images online.

Abraham Berger, 40 (20.08.80), of Hackney, was sentenced on Thursday, 14 January at Snaresbrook Crown Court to a total of 14 years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty on 30 October 2020 to the following offences:

- Sexual assault on a girl under 13 by penetration;
- Sexual assault on a girl under 13 by touching;
- Sexual assault on a boy under 13 by penetration;
- Sexual assault on a boy under 13 by touching;
- Three counts of making indecent images of children (categories A–C);
- Distribution of indecent images of children.

He will spend a further four years on licence, and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order was imposed.

The sexual assault charges relate to two children, both under the age of ten.

Berger was part of an instant messaging chat group that discussed the sexual abuse of children, and shared indecent images and videos between them.

He was first arrested on 6 August 2020 by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Online Child Abuse and Exploitation team.

A mobile phone found on Berger was examined and officers discovered nearly 1,600 unique child abuse images and 127 videos, graded A (depicting the most serious child abuse) to C.

A number of the videos were “first generation” and showed Berger committing the abuse.

He was charged with the offences on 5 September 2020 and first appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on that day.

Detective Constable Chris Bailey, of the Met’s Central Specialist Crime (vulnerability) team, said: “Berger is a dangerous, predatory offender who poses a serious risk to children.

“He was living a double life, committing sickening acts of child abuse and talking about his crimes to others online.

“The protection of children, and other vulnerable people, from harm is a priority for the Met, and we have a team of officers dedicated to identifying and arresting child abuse offenders who operate online.”

If you have any concerns about Berger’s offending and any past contact he might have had with other children, we would urge you to call police on 101, or 999 in an emergency – we have specially trained officers who will listen and investigate where needed.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or report online. You can also report abuse and get support from the NSPCC – 0808 800 5000, or visit www.nspcc.org.uk.

BREAKING NEWS: WhatsApp Delays New Privacy Policy After Backlash

WhatsApp is delaying the roll out of new business features following user backlash over the company’s data sharing practices.

The delay is a setback for WhatsApp’s plan to generate revenue by facilitating commercial exchanges on the messaging app, which Facebook acquired for $19 billion in 2014 but has been slow to monetize.

WhatsApp said on Friday users will no longer have to review and accept its updated terms by Feb. 8, nor will they have their accounts suspended or deleted by that date.

Since 2016, WhatsApp has shared certain information with Facebook, including your phone number, unless you were one of the select few users who chose to opt out of data sharing while the option was still available that year. WhatsApp does not, however, look at people’s chat messages or listen to their phone calls, and WhatsApp conversations are end-to-end encrypted to protect against those abuses.

Twitter silent after Pelosi tweet declaring 2016 election was ‘hijacked’ resurfaces

Pelosi’s tweet hinting Russia was behind Trump’s win remains untouched as Twitter hits those doubting Biden’s victory

A resurfaced May 2017 tweet from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has led to calls for consistency from Twitter as the social media giant continues its efforts to crack down on those skeptical of the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Twitter has been at the center of a political firestorm since it announced Friday that it had banned President Trump from the platform. After slapping Trump tweets that challenged President-elect Biden’s victory with various labels and temporarily suspending him following last week’s riots on Capitol Hill, Twitter stated that the outgoing president would no longer be welcomed back.

However, on the eve of Robert Mueller’s appointment as a special counsel to investigate allegations of collusion between Russian officials and the Trump 2016 campaign, Pelosi tweeted: “Our election was hijacked. There is no question. Congress has a duty to #ProtectOurDemocracy & #FollowTheFacts.”

Here it is. STILL UP ON TWITTER:

Mueller’s investigation ultimately found no evidence of collusion and a 2018 report from the Senate Intelligence Committee that there was no evidence that Russia changed vote tallies in the 2016 election.

Critics have called on Twitter to respond to Pelosi’s falsehood related to the 2016 election.

“Uh oh Twitter why is this allowed,” radio host Dana Loesch asked.

“Incitement!” Daily Wire writer Amanda Prestigiacomo sarcastically exclaimed.

CNN’s Jake Tapper blasted for questioning disabled veteran GOP rep’s patriotism for opposing impeachment

CNN anchor Jake Tapper faced intense backlash Wednesday for questioning the patriotism of Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., an Army veteran and double amputee, after Mast opposed President Trump’s impeachment.

GOP lawmakers in the House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted against Trump’s second impeachment over his conduct surrounding last week’s riot on Capitol Hill, though ten Republicans did join Democrats to support a resolution of impeachment.

Tapper, who has become one of the most outspoken anti-Trump personalities on the liberal network, slammed Republicans who didn’t back impeachment, suggesting they belong to the “QAnon caucus.”

He then singled out Mast, who lost both legs in 2010 after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan, over the lawmaker’s argument against impeaching Trump. At the same time, Tapper invoked the Republican’s military service.

“Congressman Brian Mast, a Republican from Florida — who lost his legs, by the way, fighting for democracy abroad, although I don’t know … about his commitment to it here in the United States,” Tapper told a panel before rebutting Mast’s comments.

Tapper, who has prided himself on his support of the troops and veterans, was met with fierce condemnation on social media and critics urging him to apologize.

“Representative Mast, along with myself and many others in Congress and across the country, served in the military so Americans can have freedom of speech, regardless of how repulsive or disgusting it may be,” reacted Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Ark., who is also a veteran.

“Tapper comments are so wrong in so many ways,” former Trump White House aide Mercedes Schlapp wrote.

“This might be the most vile thing ever said on cable news,” “The Rubin Report” host Dave Rubin tweeted. “Tapper was CNN’s last hope and he turned out to be the absolute worst.”

“So @jaketapper has written so many books-pandered enough on Twitter about other people’s heroic service he truly believes he has some assumed moral authority on it. What a disgusting thing to say about @BrianMastFL thankfully those of us who’ve done something can laugh it off,” said Fox Nation host Joey Jones, also a double-amputee veteran.

“This is the equivalent of rage-tweeting something gross and maybe deleting it except he did it live on CNN,” Tablet Magazine associate editor Noam Blum wrote.

“This is DISGUSTING,” former Trump campaign social media director Mike Hahn reacted. “Is @jaketapper planning on apologizing for this egregious comment? Does @CNNPR have comment?”

Biden Administration Will Likely Open Dialogue with Hamas

A key to Hamas’ agreement to run in upcoming elections in the Palestinian Authority (PA) is the understanding that the Biden administration will likely open dialogue with Hamas as part of the PA leadership, a senior source in Hamas told TPS.

Hamas has been a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization in the US since 1997.

The PA, headed by Mahmoud Abbas, Hamas, and the various factions in the PA are moving towards the finalizations of a date for general elections in the PA, the first such event in almost a decade.

The January 2005 presidential election was won by PA head Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah, while the January 2006 legislative election was won by Hamas.

Abbas on Monday approved amendments introduced to the elections law that have several components and aim to overcome all obstacles related to the electoral process.

Abbas is expected to announce a date for elections by January 20.

Hisham Kuhail, executive director of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission (CEC), said he is meeting with Abbas on Friday, and Abbas may issue the decrees setting the date of the elections after the meeting, which could be in May.

TPS previously reported that President-elect Joe Biden’s team has conveyed a message to the PA’s leadership through unofficial channels that it will not be able to work with the PA and resume ties before legislative and presidential elections in the PA.

The latest polls show that Hamas stands to gain control of the Legislative Council and possibly the presidency.

Parler CEO says social media app may not return

Parler CEO John Matze said his controversial social media platform may never get back online after major service providers accused it of failing to police violent content and booted it from their networks, according to a report.

Matze said in an interview with Reuters on Wednesday that he didn’t know when, or if, the fledgling outfit would be back.

“It could be never. We don’t know yet,” he said, but later sounded a more optimistic note.

“It may take days, it may take weeks but Parler will return and when we do we will be stronger,” Parler told the news outlet.

On Tuesday, the CEO slammed efforts to silence his app as “sick” and “evil,” saying the actions tech companies have taken against Parler went against the spirit of the Constitution.

“I think it’s sick,” Matze told Fox News. “That’s not what the Constitution said. That’s not what the Constitution stands for, banning 10-plus million US voters from the internet, barring people from free speech.”

Parler’s users have been unable to access the Twitter-like platform since Amazon Web Services booted the site from its servers early Monday.

Apple and Google likewise pulled Parler from their app stores last week over the company’s alleged failure to remove threats of violence that its users posted.

The two-year-old company — which has come under scrutiny in the aftermath of last week’s riots at the US Capitol — has filed a lawsuit accusing Amazon Web Services of breach of contract and violating an antitrust law over its decision to stop hosting the site.

In response, AWS said it repeatedly warned Parler about its users’ violent posts and that the company failed to promptly remove them.

In his interview with Reuters, Matze said Parler was talking to more than one cloud computing service but declined to divulge names, citing the likelihood that the companies involved would be harassed.

He said the best outcome would be if the app could return to Amazon.com Inc.

“It’s hard to keep track of how many people are telling us that we can no longer do business with them,” Matze said.

He said the app also was kicked off online payments service Stripe and lost its Scylla Enterprise database, as well as access to Twilio and workplace messaging app Slack.

He also said it was booted by American Express, but the company said it did not have a direct merchant relationship with Parler, according to Reuters.

ScyllaDB and Twilio told the outlet that Parler violated their policies over violent content. Slack and Stripe did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.

WhatsApp Growth Slumps As Rivals Signal, Telegram Rise

Encrypted messaging apps Signal and Telegram are seeing huge upticks in downloads from Apple and Google’s app stores. Facebook-owned WhatsApp, by contrast, is seeing its growth decline following a fiasco that forced the company to clarify a privacy update it had sent to users.

Mobile app analytics firm Sensor Tower said Wednesday that Signal saw 17.8 million app downloads on Apple and Google during the week of Jan. 5 to Jan. 12. That’s a 61-fold increase from just 285,000 the previous week. Telegram, an already-popular messaging app for people around the world, saw 15.7 million downloads in the Jan. 5 to Jan. 12 period, roughly twice the 7.6 million downloads it saw the previous week.

WhatsApp, meanwhile, saw downloads shrink to 10.6 million, down from 12.7 million the week before.

To help Israel fight the pandemic, ER doctor Deena Wasserman specializing in disaster relief makes aliyah

Emergency room doctor Deena Wasserman has, like nearly all medical professionals, been fighting the coronavirus pandemic since it emerged in early 2020. Wasserman, though, has the distinction of having served on the front lines on two continents — first in her native United States, and since this past August, in Israel, her new home.

As an ER doctor trained in disaster relief — she was a flight physician with a helicopter EMS team during her post-residency fellowship — Wasserman is without question a huge asset to her new employers at Samson Assuta University Hospital in the central Israeli city of Ashdod. But making the move across the Atlantic from Philadelphia in the middle of a pandemic has been a mission of its own.

Wasserman made the decision to emigrate to Israel long before the global health crisis hit — in fact, she knew the Jewish state was her final destination even before she started her medical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. The 29-year-old has grandparents, aunts, and uncles already living in the Holy Land (not to mention a couple siblings, who took the leap before her), and traveled to Israel often, including a yearlong stint at a religious seminary after high school.

Health Ministry worker suspected of sending his ex to quarantine 4 times

DIN: I guess working for the Health Ministry has some benefits!

A man employed by the Health Ministry has been arrested on suspicion of sending his former partner into quarantine for no reason on four occasions, the Israel Police said Thursday.

The suspect, aged 35 and hailing from northern Israel, has been an external contractor for a Health Ministry coronavirus response center in charge of monitoring infections and quarantining those who have come in contact with confirmed patients.

But he has been questioned on suspicion of abuse of power, fraud, violation of privacy, breach of trust and falsely sending an individual to quarantine.

On four occasions, the man sent a woman who used to be his partner text messages falsely informing her that she had been near a COVID-19 patient and therefore has to isolate for 14 days.

His alleged actions were revealed after the Health Ministry received four appeals from the same woman against quarantine instructions, which prompted the ministry to order an inquiry into the matter.

After being questioned, the suspect was released under restrictive conditions.

Police said they would hand the case over to prosecutors in the coming days.

Harvard Univ Caves Into "the woke left" and Kicks Out Rep Elise Stefanik From Advisory Committee

New York Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik is accusing her alma mater, Harvard University, of caving to “the woke Left” after the school’s Institute of Politics on Tuesday dropped her from an advisory committee, citing her public remarks about fraud in the 2020 election.

Harvard distanced itself from the upstate congresswoman as a result of Wednesday’s Capitol riot by President Trump’s supporters after he told them he was robbed of re-election by fraud.

“Congratulations, Harvard, the entire Board of the Institute of Politics now consists only of Joe Biden voters — how reflective of America,” Stefanik said in a statement.

“As a conservative Republican, it is a rite of passage and badge of honor to join the long line of leaders who have been boycotted, protested, and canceled by colleges and universities across America,” she said.

“The decision by Harvard’s administration to cower and cave to the woke Left will continue to erode diversity of thought, public discourse, and ultimately the student experience. The Ivory Tower’s march toward a monoculture of like-minded, intolerant liberal views demonstrates the sneering disdain for everyday Americans and will instill a culture of fear for students who will understand that a conservative viewpoint will not be tolerated and will be silenced.”

Stefanik, 36, graduated from Harvard in 2006 with an undergraduate degree in government.

Douglas Elmendorf, dean at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, said he asked Stefanik to resign after reviewing her public statements about the election. He said he was not displaying political bias.
