Did Iran Shoot Down Ukrainian Airline Killing 180 by Mistake ?

A Ukrainian airplane carrying 180 passengers and crew crashed Wednesday near an airport in the capital, Tehran, state TV reported. There was no immediate word on casualties.

The plane had taken off from Imam Khomeini International Airport, the report said. The crash is suspected to have been caused by mechanical issues, it added, without elaborating.

An investigation team was at the site of the crash in southwestern outskirts of Tehran, civil aviation spokesman Reza Jafarzadeh said.

Flight data from the airport showed a Ukrainian 737-800 flown by Ukraine International Airlines took off Wednesday morning, then stopped sending data almost immediately afterward, according to website FlightRadar24. The airline did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Meanwhile, the Al Hadath News agency from Jordan reports the plane may have been shot down accidentally by an Iranian missile. This is still unconfirmed.

Video of Fraidel Weider Getting Killed by Cement Truck in Boro Park

Tragedy struck Boro Park on Tuesday morning, when a woman was R”L struck and killed by a truck.

It happened just before 12:00PM, when a 68-year-old woman was struck by a cement truck on New Utrecht Avenue near 49th Street.

Boro Park Hatzolah rushed to the scene and found the woman in traumatic arrest. There was nothign they could do to save her life, and she was unfortunately Niftar on the scene.

The Niftar was later identified as Mrs. Fraidel Weider A”H. Her husband is R’ Avrohom Wieder, a Skverer Chosid.

Misaskim and Chesed Shel Emes were on the scene dealing with the Kavod Haniftar.

The Levaya was scheduled for tonight at 8:00PM at the Skverer Bais Medrash, 5321 12th Avenue.

The NYPD is on the scene and a prolonged investigation is underway. Expect heavy traffic in the area as the street will be closed for hours.

Thanks to Trump, the forty-year appeasement of Iran is over

The assassination of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani is an unusual, possibly aberrant, event.  

The killing of this individual leader of a sovereign state may lead to all-out war between Iran and the U.S. — or, on the other hand, the assassination may bring an end to the cycle of Iranian violence countered by U.S. and world diplomatic flatulence and appeasement.

Assassinating the leaders of terrorist organizations — i.e., non-state actors, such as Osama bin Laden and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi — did not lead to a greater war footing against the USA because, as terrorist organization leaders, not heads of state, they are automatically considered rogue, even by sovereign state leaders sympathetic to their goals.  Al-Qaeda and ISIS, despite any claims to territorial governance, are non-state actors.

Thus, despite ISIS's former control of land areas, ISIS was despised for its aggressions but was not considered a serious threat to the power of leaders of other Muslim-dominant states within the region.

Neshama Carlebach will do anything to sing in public even if it means destroying her father's legacy!

In 2013, after losing her frum audience because of "Kol Isha" she decided to join the Reform Movement to save her crappy career.

In 2014, she asked a bunch of Black Baptists to join her on Parshas Zachor in singing "Essah Einah"  in a reform shul!

In 2016, she  auctioned off his guitar ....

It didn't take long before the Reform Leftists banned her and cancelled all her concerts and kicked her out of their "shuls" because of accusations that her father, Shlomo Carlebach z"l had a bad reputation.

Now .... in a post in the  The Times of Israel Blog ...she grovels to her tiny audience like a little pathetic loser ..... 

If it wasn't for her father, she would have been a nobody..... her whole career was singing her father's songs ....

But now because of  the "Metoo" movement the name Carlebach in her reform leftists community is a nono! 

She had to scramble to do something to keep from starving!

So to save her career she decided to  bury her father all over again!

Stampede kills 50 at funeral for Iran's "Salami ". ....

 

A stampede on Tuesday at a funeral procession for a top Iranian general killed in a U.S. airstrike last week killed 40 people and injured 213 others, two Iranian semi-official news agencies reported.

The stampede took place in Kerman, the hometown of Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani, as the procession got underway, said the Fars and ISNA news agencies, citing Pirhossein Koulivand, the head of Iran’s emergency medical services.

Trump proves the Iran ‘experts’ wrong again

In 2015, as the debate over President Barack Obama’s proposed ­nuclear accord with the Iranian regime roiled the nation, mainstream reporters insisted there were only two choices: the deal or war.

It was understandable. Left-of-center media (that is, most outlets) so adored Obama that one of his aides called them his “echo chamber.” Following the White House line was the dutiful, echo-chamber thing to do — even if it meant ignoring rational alternatives to Obama’s appeasement of Tehran that didn’t entail waging war.

Today, liberals are regurgitating the same claims about the consequences of President Trump’s decision to take out Iranian arch-terrorist Qassem Soleimani. Iran’s threats of retaliation and the statement that it is abandoning restrictions on its nuclear program are evidence, they say, that Team Trump is sleepwalking to war. The only option, in this line of thinking, is returning to the deal.

According to Obama administration alumni and other voices on the left, the deal was keeping Iran’s nuclear ambitions in check, and it was only Trump’s decision to pull out and reimpose economic sanctions that caused the current trouble.

But these are barefaced lies. Obama’s deal didn’t solve the nuclear problem. And Soleimani and his Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps began to make trouble for America long before Trump’s pullout from the deal.

As hundreds of thousands of Jews worldwide celebrate the completion of the seven-and-a-half-year long cycle of daily Talmud study, and as women for the first time in history held their own celebration in Jerusalem, one 17-year-old girl is believed to be the youngest woman to ever mark this achievement.

Hila Schlakman of Efrat, a senior at Ohr Torah Stone’s Neveh Channah High School, began this learning cycle with her father after her older brother had completed the previous one with their father in 2012. Though her original plan was only to learn with her father until the celebration of her Bat Mitzvah, her piqued interest drove her to continue.

Over the course of the first four years of the 2,711-day cycle, she worked with her father’s schedule, sometimes sacrificing and adapting her own social plans in order to gain a mastery of the basics and set the foundation for her future learning. For sleepovers at friends, she’d need to plan to arrive late in order to study with her father beforehand, and in order to travel for summer vacation, she and her father would learn ahead so as not to miss a page. Later on, she would be joined by her younger sister and ultimately their grandfather, too, sometimes learning together and at other times on their own.

The Rav of Tehran And Delegation of Jews Are “Menachem Avel” The Soleimani Family

A delegation of Iranian Jews, including the Rav of Tehran, was among the millions of Iranians filling the streets of Tehran on Monday for the funeral of slain General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed by a US airstrike last week, Israeli news sites reported on Monday.

One of the members of the Jewish community in Tehran, in an exclusive conversation with B’Chadrei Chareidim, said: “Many Jews participated in the funeral. We went to comfort the general’s family. The Rav of Tehran, Rav Yehudah Grami, also went to comfort [the family]. An important delegation [of Jews] joined him.”

A Yisrael Hayom report said that a delegation of Jews along with leaders of other minority religions visited Soleimani’s family home on Sunday to comfort the family. 

Afterward, the Jews praised Soleimani in an interview on state media and expressed their sorrow about his assassination.

The local Jewish community already released a statement a few hours after Soleimani’s assassination on Friday, condemning the strike and stating that: “G-d will avenge the blood of Soleimani.”

“It’s very important for minorities, especially Jews [to comfort Soleimani’s family],” Rani Amrani of “Radio Ran” a Farsi-speaking Israeli radio station, said, according to the Yisrael Hayom report. “They are afraid of anti-Semitism and they don’t want to be harassed. During the protests on Yom Yerushalayim, the Jews often go out and protest as well because they don’t want to be harassed.”

“In their hearts, they love Israel. They’re in a situation in which they’re obligated to prove that they have no connection to Zionism. If they don’t do this, their blood will be on their heads.”

Brooklyn Man arrested in Israel on sexual assault charges, extradition filed

A US citizen who has been illegally staying in Israel for several years was arrested on Sunday in the South following a US government extradition request.

A petition was filed with the Jerusalem District Court on Monday, in which the International Department of the State Attorney's Office sought to declare him extraditable to the United States.

The man reportedly sexually assaulted two of his underage daughters at the family's home in Brooklyn, New York, between 1996 and 2004 when the complainants were young girls.

In October 2010, one of the daughters reported the abuse, and the New York Police Department opened an investigation.

That day, his wife drove him to JFK airport, and from there he flew to Israel. A few months later, his residency permit expired, and since then the man has been illegally staying in Israel.

Just by learning the same page of ancient text we are coming together as one ...

Rav Meir Shapiro z"l, at the first Knessiah Gedolah of Agudas Yisrael nearly a century ago, explained the idea of the Daf Yomi the concept that all of the Jewish World would be learning the same page, 

"This would connect world Jewry with the strongest glue...the holy Torah!

You would think????

There is one solidarity group, however,  that will officially not be part of this "achdus" .... and that is .... you must have guessed it ...

SATMAR!

They were not represented in any of the Siyum HaShas celebrations!

Now to be honest ... when Rav Meir Shapiro ..first introduced the idea he did have some opposition ..... 

because there were some that felt ...that learning a daf a day would cause people to never learn the daf... be'iyun ...in depth .....

The opposition totally evaporated and in fact all Gedolei Yisrael embraced this idea and it was and is implemented throughout the entire Torah world...

Every Bais Medrish ... be it in Lakewood, Monsey, Williamsburg, Israel, Europe etc ... has a chevrah learning the daf ..; 

there are now groups that have serious Talmedei Chachamim learning the Daf Yoimie in depth.

So you naively ask.... who would possibly be against learning Torah?

Especially learning Torah in an organized system that unites us instead of dividing us??

Crazy Democrats Upset that Trump Took Out Mass Murderer

The calendar turns and a decade begins, but there is nothing new under the sun in Washington. Even the killing of an Iranian mass murderer is cause for more partisan strife.

In a sane country, which America used to be, there would be shared sober satisfaction over the elimination of Gen. Qassem Soleimani. Yet Democrats apparently outsourced their reactions to robots, whose script called for conceding that the departed was a very bad man, but prohibited approval of President Trump’s decision to take him out.

Instead, the quibblers’ chorus raised questions of timing and expressed fear of escalation and retaliation. In the context of Iran’s military aggression and Soleimani’s bloody hands, there is another word for that fear: appeasement.

Or, as defense specialist Michael Doran wrote in The New York Times, the fear of war “ignores the fact that Mr. Soleimani has been waging war on America and its allies for years.”

Police: No Evidence Found To Link Monsey Stabber To November Attack

The man charged in the machete attack on a Hanukkah celebration north of New York City had been questioned by local authorities in connection with an earlier stabbing of an Orthodox Jewish man in the same town, police said Thursday.

Grafton Thomas faces state and federal charges in Saturday’s Hanukkah attack, which wounded five people at a rabbi’s home in Monsey, New York.

That attack came as police in the same town were investigating a Nov. 20 stabbing in which a man was critically injured while walking to a synagogue.

Ramapo Police Chief Brad Weidel said police questioned Thomas based on video evidence that suggested a Honda Pilot may have been involved in the November stabbing. Thomas’ mother drives a Honda Pilot, and authorities said they seized and searched that vehicle following Thomas’ arrest in Saturday’s attack.

Weidel said investigators have not tied Thomas to the earlier stabbing.

“We have to operate with evidence,” Weidel told reporters at a news conference. “We had no evidence, and we had no probable cause to do anything other than follow a lead.”

Israeli singer Ishay Ribo won first place by a high margin for the second year in a row, with a much higher number of views than those immediately after him on the list. 

This past year, Ribo broke every possible record, in the amount and size of his performances, the amount of YouTube views on his songs and his loyal fan base. He also released his fourth album “אלול תשע”ט” with his hit song: “Halev Sheli.”

Ribo’s official YouTube channel has 190 million views and 180,000 subscribers. This is the second year in the row that Ribo doubled the number of views on his channel within a year. Furthermore, almost all of Ribo’s videos simply display the words of his songs but that doesn’t stop his fans from replaying them again and again at a rate far higher than any other frum singer.

Monsey stabbing suspect Grafton Thomas was a ‘Shabbos goy’ growing up?

The man accused of using a machete to hack five Orthodox Jews at a Hanukkah party had Jewish friends while growing up — and even did Sabbath chores for them, his mom told The Post on Wednesday.

Grafton Thomas, 37, “was born in a Jewish neighborhood in Crown Heights,” Kim Thomas said in her first public statements since her son’s arrest in the Saturday night bloodbath in Monsey.

Kim, 55, said her son would help one Jewish family observe the Sabbath by performing tasks prohibited by their religious beliefs.

“Grafton grew up going there on a Friday afternoon to turn off the lights for them,” she said.

That practice is commonly known as serving as a “Shabbos goy” — a non-Jew who performs Sabbath tasks.

Before his arrest, Kim said, Grafton was always welcomed warmly whenever he returned to Brooklyn from their home in upstate Greenwood Lake.

“If he goes down there, anyone that sees him on the block, in the neighborhood, hugs him, welcomes him,” she said.

Several longtime Jewish residents of the block where Grafton formerly lived told The Post they didn’t remember him as a neighbor.
