Police Officer Who Investigated Netanyahu Arrested on suspicion of passing sensitive information to one of Israel’s largest and most-feared “Mafia” organizations.

Shock reverberated through Israel’s police force on Tuesday morning when the Police Internal Investigations Department of the State Attorney’s Office arrested five suspects, including senior police officials and a civilian—on suspicion of passing sensitive information to the Musli crime family, one of Israel’s largest and most-feared “Mafia” organizations.

Among the suspects are two active police officers, one of them a senior officer, and two former police officers—including an investigator who was part of the prosecution team in Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s “1000–4000 cases” and other prominent cases, including those of Avigdor Lieberman, whose case was “mysteriously closed,” and Ehud Olmert.

In addition, the head of the crime organization, Eli Musli, and two of the organization’s financial operatives were also arrested.

According to a report on i24NEWS, all of the detained officers had worked in the Investigations Division: the officer who investigated Netanyahu, another officer with the rank of chief superintendent, a recently retired chief superintendent, and a police officer. The recently retired officer is suspected of committing the offenses while still serving in Lahav 433, the police’s elite anti-corruption and organized crime unit.

The officers are suspected of crimes including bribery, fraud, breach of trust, and violations of the Privacy Protection Law. In return, they allegedly received perks such as trips abroad and hotel accommodations.

According to police, the affair involves, among other crimes, illegal gambling and the provision of credit lines to gamblers.

The head of Lahav 433, Commander Meni Benjamin, stated, “We constantly act and gather evidence against organizations that the police define as crime organizations. We will act against anyone who is involved in serious, organized criminal activity—even if they are active or former police officers who acted illegally and against the law. We will work to bring them to justice. Thanks to the work of Lahav 433, the key suspects who form part of an illegal financial pipeline have been exposed, including police officers who left the organization but still maintained contact with criminal elements. The nature of their ties to these criminal figures will be examined, and we will work together with the Internal Investigations Department in every way required to uncover the full truth.”

 

Israeli Researcher Elizabeth Tsurkov Free After Being Kidnapped By Iran-Backed Militia In Iraq In 2023

Israeli researcher Elizabeth Tsurkov, kidnapped in Baghdad last year by the Shiite militia Kataib Hezbollah, has been freed and is now at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, President Donald Trump announced Tuesday on Truth Social.

“I am pleased to report that Elizabeth Tsurkov, a Princeton student, whose sister is an American citizen, was just released … and is now safely in the American Embassy in Iraq after being tortured for many months,” Trump wrote. He used the announcement to renew pressure on Hamas, demanding: “HAMAS, RELEASE THE HOSTAGES, NOW!”

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani confirmed the release, crediting Iraqi security services and stressing that Baghdad “will not allow anyone to harm the reputation of Iraq and the Iraqis.”

Tsurkov, 38, holds both Israeli and Russian citizenship and was in Iraq for her doctoral research at Princeton when she was abducted in March 2023. Nearly a year later, a video surfaced of her speaking in Hebrew under duress, reciting confessions to working for the CIA and Mossad. A vocal critic of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, she had previously warned against trading concessions for her release.

Her family said Tuesday they were “overjoyed.” In a statement, her sister Emma thanked Trump, U.S. hostage envoy Adam Boehler, and embassy staff in Baghdad: “If Adam hadn’t made my sister’s return a personal mission, I don’t know where we would be today.”

Tsurkov, the daughter of Soviet Jewish dissidents who immigrated to Israel in the 1980s, has spent much of her academic career researching conflict in the Middle East. She previously conducted fieldwork in Syria, Jordan, and Turkey, and was pursuing a Princeton Ph.D. when she traveled to Iraq.

 

Call for Firing of Judge Who Released Train Stabber

North Carolina Republicans are calling for the ouster of Magistrate Judge Teresa Stokes, accusing her of endangering the public by releasing a repeat offender who is now charged with murdering a young Ukrainian refugee on Charlotte’s light rail system.

In a joint letter, all ten Republican members of the state’s congressional delegation urged the North Carolina Judicial Branch to fire Stokes, saying her decision to release DeCarlos Brown Jr. on a written promise to appear in court amounted to a “willful failure” of judicial duty.

Brown, 34, was arrested in January for misusing the 911 system. Despite a record of 14 prior arrests, including convictions for armed robbery, felony larceny, and threatening behavior, Stokes authorized his release without bond. Months later, police say Brown fatally stabbed 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, a refugee from Ukraine, as she rode the Lynx Blue Line near Charlotte’s South End.

“This tragedy was preventable,” the lawmakers wrote. “By freeing a violent repeat offender, Magistrate Stokes undermined public trust in the courts and exposed our community to needless danger.”

National figures quickly weighed in. U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Charlotte had “failed” Zarutska by not keeping Brown behind bars. Florida Rep. Randy Fine announced plans to introduce legislation holding judges accountable when offenders they release commit violent crimes. Billionaire Elon Musk went further, calling on the public to “name and shame” judges and prosecutors who, in his view, enable repeat offenders.

Brown is currently being held without bond at the Mecklenburg County Jail. A judge has ordered a competency evaluation, and his next court hearing is set for September 19.

Five senior Hamas officials, including the terrorist organization's leader, Khaled Mashal, were at a meeting together in the Qatari capital of Doha when the IDF launched an airstrike targeting the meeting this afternoon (Tuesday), the Saudi Al Hadath network reported. Mashal and at least four other senior officials were reportedly killed in the airstrike.

The airstrike in Doha are the first of their kind by Israel, which had refrained from going after the Hamas leaders who lived in luxury in Qatar in the 23 months since the October 7 massacre.

In addition to Mashal, Hamas leaders Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin are also reported to have attended the meeting. Arabic media is reporting that all four, as well as Hamas official Nizar Awadallah, were eliminated.

However, Al Jazeera, citing a Hamas official, reported that the Hamas leaders survived the airstrike. Hamas has not issued an official statement on the fate of its leaders. Qatar has not commented on whether the targets survived the airstrike either.

The IDF announced that the name of the operation is 'Summit of Fire.'

US President Donald Trump reportedly approved the strike in Doha, and the attack was coordinated with the US.

Breaking :Israel strikes Qatar in attempt to assassinate Hamas officials

 

The IDF and the Shin Bet on Tuesday confirmed an attack on the Hamas leadership in Doha, Qatar.

A statement said that the leaders targeted were responsible for the October 7, 2023, massacre of around 1,200 Israelis in the country's South, as well as managing the terror group's operations for years before that.

Khalil al-Hayya, the leader of Hamas, was one of the targets of the operations, an Israeli official confirmed to The Jerusalem Post. His death has not been confirmed.

Israeli officials told The Post that the US knew about the attack beforehand and gave it the green light. The US Embassy in Doha has issued a shelter-in-place order for all US citizens. 

Qatar's official response!

"Hamas received the new proposal from the Qataris, which we [Israel] obtained from Witkoff last week in Paris. The prime minister met with the Hamas leadership yesterday, and they decided to meet again today to discuss the proposal, arriving from Turkey," a diplomatic source told the Post.

"As it happened before, the Israelis undermined hopes for peace, further prolonging the war and complicating efforts to bring back the hostages," Qatar responded.

"The State of Qatar strongly condemns the cowardly Israeli attack that targeted residential buildings housing several members of the Political Bureau of Hamas in the Qatari capital, Doha," said Majed al-Ansari, spokesperson of the Qatari Foreign Ministry.

"This criminal assault constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, and poses a serious threat to the security and safety of Qataris and residents in Qatar," he added.

"While the State of Qatar strongly condemns this assault, it confirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior and the ongoing disruption of regional security, nor any act that targets its security and sovereignty."

IDF and Shin Bet confirm the strikes

According to the military and the Shin Bet, special measures were taken to avoid harming anyone other than the top Hamas leaders, based on precise intelligence and munitions.

According to an official statement, the IAF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) conducted a precise strike targeting the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization. 

"For years, these members of the Hamas leadership have led the terrorist organization's operations, are directly responsible for the brutal October 7th massacre, and have been orchestrating and managing the war against the State of Israel," the statement read.

No mention has been made yet of Khaled Mashaal, who was formerly the leader of Hamas years ago and remains a symbol of the group.

Until now, some of these officials have been viewed as too important and involved in negotiations to be targeted for assassination.

However, in July 2024, the Mossad assassinated Islmail haniyeh in Tehran at a time when he was heavily involved in negotiations.

In that case, the Biden administration accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of targeting Haniyeh partially to avoid a hostage deal, which he did not yet want at the time.

Netanyahu was defended by top Israeli defense officials who said that Haniyeh had been an obstacle to a deal and that, in any case, his responsibility for October 7 was too large to leave him alive.

It was unclear what position the Trump administration would take on the attack at a time when it is trying to press Israel and Hamas to reach a deal, and it was unclear who would remain Hamas's top negotiator.

The attack was also unusual because it was carried out openly by the air force and the Shin Bet as opposed to the Mossad, which is normally responsible for out-of-Israel assassinations, such as with Haniyeh.

However, the Mossad has managed to maintain better relations with Qatar, such that a decision may have been made to keep them at a distance from this operation.

Vaccine skeptic pet owners are refusing to inoculate their dogs —insisting the shots cause autism

 

One of the many care requirements for pet owners is to get their beloved fur babies vaccinated to protect them from contagious diseases that could potentially be fatal.

However, more recently, some owners are hesitating to do so because they believe the shots can potentially cause autism in their pooches.

According to a 2023 survey by Boston University School of Public Health published in the journal “Vaccine,” around 37% of dog owners believe canine vaccination could cause their pets to adopt this disorder.

The survey also revealed that more than 20% of owners think pet vaccines are ineffective, and 30% don’t even believe they’re necessary.

To each their own.

While some dogs may present certain behavioral issues that might be associated with autism spectrum disorder — this belief is actually just a myth.

In fact, “pets don’t get autism,” Lori Kogan, PhD, a psychologist and professor of clinical sciences at Colorado State University and chair of the Human-Animal Interaction Section of the American Psychological Association, shared with WebMD in March.

“So that’s not something to worry about,” Kogan explained.

Dr. Michael Q. Bailey, the president of the American Veterinary Medical Association, agreed.

“There is absolutely no scientific proof connecting any vaccine that we produce today with autism,” he told HuffPost of both humans and pets.

“And this has been studied and researched, and I think that this is fairly well settled information in the scientific literature. I really can’t say too much more than that, just because [of] the fact it is considered to be settled. Today’s vaccines have no connection with autism,” Bailey told the outlet.

Bailey noted that “hesitancy is not a bad thing in itself,” emphasizing that people should educate themselves and talk to their veterinarians.

While some pet owners are debating vaccinating their pets — Gen Zers are bringing their furry companions to college with them for emotional support.

Forget an emotional support blanket — reportedly, college students are bringing dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs to live in their dorm rooms with them in record numbers, according to the Associated Press.

And Lo and Behold, the soldier who fought in Jerusalem didn’t lose his Yiddishkeit. He became the living definition of Ahavat Yisrael.

Meanwhile, donors sipping wine in Mitzpe Ramon toast “Torah protection” while mothers in Jerusalem toast their sons with bitter tears.

The choice for these philanthropists is simple:
Keep bankrolling permanent draft-dodging,
or
redirect that largesse toward frameworks that unify rather than divide.
Fund Torah and service. 

Fund stipends for reservists’ families. 

Fund therapy for traumatized kids. Fund actual love of Israel.

Because Jerusalem already showed us the image that matters:

Mendel Roth, a haredi soldier in the Hashmonaim Brigade, shared today (Monday) a personal story that took place last night at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

Rata explained that after arriving to say Selichot prayers, about ten Hasidic boys gathered around him, showing interest in military service in the brigade. He said, "Over time, a few extremists noticed and started causing trouble. They tried to pull the boys away, but they refused to leave."

Later, Roth said, the extremists approached a rabbi sitting in the inner plaza and returned with a claim that there is a halachic ruling to expel him from the area. "At that moment, the boys stood around me, hugged me, and stood firm against the extremists," he wrote.

Roth added that he approached the rabbi himself, "I went up to the rabbi and asked him, is it true that you commanded to expel a soldier who is going to defend the people of Israel from harm? He probably didn’t expect to see a Hasidic soldier with a beard and sidelocks, and he told me, 'I didn’t say to throw you out... I just said to talk to you... not to talk to the boys.' I told him, the Hashmonaim Brigade is a holy brigade that operates according to the ways of the Torah and holiness. But he was surrounded by the extremists who hurried to listen to the conversation. He answered me, 'I can’t talk to you about this now,' turned his back, and sat facing the Western Wall. I went to sleep with mixed feelings."

"I don’t think all the extremists are liars," Roth continued. "Some of them mean well and are genuinely convinced that the whole purpose here is to secularize and lead people away from the Torah of Israel."

In conclusion, he wrote, "Despite the storm that happened there, I came out much strengthened. I met a young Hasidic generation that knows how to listen to another voice, is moved and excited by a Hasidic soldier, and doesn’t get confused by the screams of zealots. This is our next generation."

 

'His parents weren't at his wedding; they'll be at his funeral'

Yehonatan Sasson, who was a student of Yaakov Pinto at the Hedvat HaTorah yeshiva, spoke this morning (Tuesday) about his counselor who was murdered in the terrorist attack at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem.

"Yaakov is an inspiring story. He immigrated alone to Israel from Spain at a fairly young age. He found himself a high school yeshiva on his own and then a high yeshiva. He also found himself a job as a counselor at our dorms," Sasson said in an interview with Kan Reshet B.

He added, "As a dorm student, at the end of the day you are alone, but he was our mother and father. He knew how to speak to each one of us in our own language and it was fun to be with him. He had an unforgettable smile that was valuable in every situation - from difficulty to joy. He maintained his principles and values. On the one hand he did not compromise on them and on the other hand he was the most pleasant person imaginable."

Yehonatan added that Yaakov got married only three months ago, but his parents could not attend the wedding because of the war with Iran. "His parents weren't at his wedding; they'll be at his funeral, with him on his final journey."

Yaakov Pinto, 25, an immigrant from Spain, studied at the Derech Emuna Yeshiva in Lod. "His future was cruelly cut short. Our hearts are with his new wife, his family and his community in these difficult moments," they mourned him in the Ramot neighborhood. Yaakov was a counselor at the Haredi high school yeshiva Hedvat HaTorah for the past two years. "Since his arrival in Israel, he has devoted his entire existence to the sacred work of education," the yeshiva's management mourned him. "Out of a deep love for young people and boundless devotion."

French government collapses again as PM ousted in confidence vote

 

France’s political crisis deepened Monday as lawmakers overwhelmingly voted to oust Prime Minister François Bayrou, forcing President Emmanuel Macron to seek his fourth head of government in just 12 months.

The 364-194 vote against Bayrou marked a dramatic rejection of his call for sweeping public spending cuts to rein in France’s mounting debt, reported The Associated Press.

Bayrou, a centrist appointed by Macron last December, had gambled that legislators would back his fiscal vision. Instead, both left-wing and far-right blocs united to topple his minority government, which now must resign after less than nine months in office. Neighbors praise soldier, Torah Scholar who neutralized terrorists

A squad commander from the Charedi Hashmonaim Brigade, a 23-year-old resident of Binyamin, neutralized the terrorists responsible for the murder of six Israelis on Monday morning at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem.

The soldier’s community praised his actions, stating: “Many blessings and prayers for strength to the son of our community, who today courageously confronted the terrorists at the Ramot Junction, saved many lives, and eliminated our enemies. May God bless him, grant him success in all his endeavors, and may he merit to sanctify the name of Heaven in public.”

Mordechai, a member of the community, highlighted the sacrifices made during the ongoing war: “Four seriously wounded, two fallen soldiers, and one who eliminated the terrorists during the Jerusalem attack - one tribe, from one community, of 23-year-old young men, who embody the story of this generation in the Swords of Iron War.”

The soldier, who serves as a squad commander in the Hasmonean Brigade, is a graduate of a yeshiva where he studied for four years. He recently became engaged. According to relatives and friends, he is described as a principled and dedicated Torah scholar, fully committed both to his military service and to the world of Torah.

 

Survivors Say Arab Driver Stopped His Bus, Ran Away, And Then Terrorists Entered

 Malka, an eyewitness to the terror attack at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem, shared on Monday in an interview with Channel Now 14 that the driver of the bus which was attacked by terrorists may have collaborated with them.

“The driver got off the bus before the shooting spree, spoke on the phone, went back to grab his things – and ran. Right after that, the terrorists entered.”

According to her:

“It can’t be that there was no cooperation here. The driver didn’t want to drive. There are many yeshiva students who can testify to this, not just me. Somehow, the driver was talking on the phone, and I don’t know what that was about.”

Malka described the horrific event:

“There’s no way to describe how many shots were fired. As soon as we got off, the terrorists started shooting at us, it was terrible and horrifying.”

As previously reported, six people were murdered in the attack, seven were seriously injured, two in moderate condition, and three suffered light injuries. The Shin Bet has arrested a resident of the East Jerusalem neighborhood of A-Tur on suspicion of having driven the terrorists to the scene of the attack.

Owner of Famous Beit Shemesh Bakery Was Among Those Murdered

 One of the 6 people murdered in this morning's terror attach was *Mordechai Steintzag*, HY"D, known as 'Dr. Mark'. 

A resident of Ramot B, he was the owner of the well-known *Doctor Mark's Bakery* in Beit Shemesh.

Dr. Mark immigrated from the US decades ago. A cardiologist by training, he was very involved in the field of health and recognized that in Israel at that time there was not enough awareness of a healthy lifestyle. 

The small home bakery he founded became a pioneer and a leader in the field of healthy flours and breads, and today has several branches, the main branch being in Beit Shemesh.

May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion.
