Israeli Couple Held In Turkey On” Espionage” Charges Return To Israel
After joint efforts with Turkey, Mordi and Natali Oknin were released from Turkish prison and landed in Israel on Thursday morning.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid thanked the President of Turkey and his government for their cooperation.
They also expressed their respect to the Oknin family for their strength during this complicated time and for their cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, they conveyed special thanks to President Herzog for his efforts to help bring them home.
The couple was arrested on Friday for photographing the palace of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with Turkish prosecutors telling a judge that they suspect them of espionage.
During a tour of the country, they innocently photographed Erdogan’s palace and sent the photos to their family’s Whatsapp group with the caption: “What a nice home.” But prosecutors accused them of photographing the palace’s cameras and security checkpoints and claimed that they highlighted those features and sent them to a third party.
On Wednesday, Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu had said that that prosecutors will accuse the Oknins of military-political espionage.
The Oknins are both Egged bus drivers and regularly appear in Egged marketing videos and ads.
On Tuesday, Mossad head Dovid Barnea spoke with his Turkish counterpart to confirm that the Oknins are innocent civilians.
Prime Minister Bennett and Foreign Minister Lapid on Thursday morning spoke with Shiraz, the daughter of Natali Oknin, and with Eran, Natali’s brother, who were waiting for Mordy and Natali Oknin at the airport.
Following is an excerpt of Prime Minister Bennett’s remarks in the conversation:
“Shiraz, good morning. It is wonderful to speak with you again. You see? I told you that we are doing everything, and indeed we did everything. You were a wonderful partner. The family’s restraint was very critical in these days.

I hope that you will now have calmer days. I am happy that they are returning to you.”
Foreign Minister Lapid: “Shiraz, Eran, and the entire family, you are amazing. I am very excited with you. We were with you all week. We promised that we would do everything to bring them back to you and now, they are on their way home. Give them a big hug for us.”

Chaim Walder suspended from Israeli Charedi media outlets
A popular haredi author in Israel has been suspended by several media outlets, following accusations of sexual abuse.
Chaim Walder, author of dozens of books including the popular “Kids Speak: Children Talk About Themselves” series, was recently accused of sexual abuse by three young women, including two who were minors at the time of the alleged attacks, Ha’aretz reported recently.
After a prominent Brooklyn bookstore announced that it would no longer carry Walder’s books, two haredi media outlets in Israel both suspended Walder.
The Yated Ne’eman newspaper on Wednesday halted publication of Walder’s column, while the Radio Kol Hai station has suspended Walder from his regular radio show.
Walder has denied the allegations, with his attorneys – Micky Hova and Guy Shamer – telling Ha’aretz: “Our client has denied and is disgusted by any accusations of misconduct on his part, especially what has been claimed in the report.”
“These allegations are outrageous falsehoods based on total lies and amount to complete and utter libel.”
Walder’s lawyers said that the accusations stem from the author and educator’s work to help children who had suffered from abuse.
“As a result of this, a group of individuals came together with the goal of hurting him, and we have evidence of part of their attempts to implicate our client.”
Furthermore, Walder’s attorneys claimed that the author had undergone polygraph tests which indicated he was not lying.
Fresh Blueberries No Longer Need Extensive Washing and Checking
The Chicago Rabbinical Council (cRc) has announced a change in its Fruit and Vegetable Policy regarding the cleaning of fresh blueberries.
In recent weeks, the cRc has seen a significant decrease in insect infestation of blueberries. Accordingly, blueberries no longer need an extensive washing and checking process. All that is required is a rinsing under a strong stream of water.
The exception would be for organic blueberries that would still require washing with soap and checking via a thrip cloth.
This policy is in effect until April 1, 2022.

Restraining Order Issued Against Gerer School Which Suspended Children Of Rav Shaul’s Followers
- Suspending or expelling girls from Bais Yaakov D’Chassidei Gur
because of their religious practices; - Sequestering girls to a segregated room because of her religious practices;
- Harassing the infant plaintiff because of her religious practices.
- Taking any action against the infant plaintiff because of her religious practices.
Moreover, the restraining order “is conditioned and shall remain in effect so long as the girls follow all the rules of Bais Yaakov D’Chassidei Gur and refrain from disparaging Rabbi Yaakov Alter.”
The order also requires the school to explain within the next month why there would be grounds for suspending, sequestering or harassing girls because of their religious practices.
About 100 children were suspended from attending the school after their fathers went to the tish of Rabbi Shaul Alter despite a directive from the rebbe, Rabbi Yaakov, not to attend any functions of Rabbi Shaul.

Elyakim Haetzni, a 95-year-old resident of Kiryat Arba, received a letter on Monday from Friedrich, who was his classmate in 1934 in Kiel, Germany.
Friedrich now lives in the United States but his heart and mind is apparently still in Nazi Germany, as evident from his letter.
Elyakim’s son, Boaz Haetzni, wrote about the incident on Facebook: “It’s always nice to get regards from a classmate, especially from 1934. My father, Elyakim Haetzni – whose name in German is Georg – received a letter today. The following is a translation of the letter:
“‘Georg, I’m very pleased that you’re still alive after 95 years. Wonderful. Sieg Heil (a victory salute used originally by Nazis at political rallies) from [the city of] Kiel.'”
“And written on the other side: ‘Hebron is Palestine. Juden Reuss (Jews out). Signed Friedrich.‘”
“According to the stamps on the letter, the elderly Nazi Friedrich lives in the United States and it’s still important enough for him to spread his perverse Nazi hatred and combine it with today’s Nazi hatred, the most modern and effective anti-Semitic tool – the Palestinian bluff,” Haetzni concluded.

Don't Drink the Kool-Aid ..For Real
Kraft Heinz is recalling batches of some Kool-Aid mix “due to the potential presence of foreign material, specifically very small pieces of metal or glass,” according to an alert issued by retailer Costco.
Costco issued the alert to customers who appear to have bought packages of 82.5oz Kool-Aid Tropical Punch Mix with “Best When Used By” dates of Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
The metal and glass shards may have been accidentally mixed into the product during the manufacturing process, according to another notice issued by Stater Bros, a grocery store chain in Southern California.
“The company discovered the issue during an internal review at the manufacturing facility,” Stater Bros said.
“There have been no consumer complaints and no reports of illness or injury related to this issue to date.”
Kraft Heinz did not immediately return The Post’s request for comment.

At that time, American Jewish activists involved with the cause of suffering Soviet Jewry knew very well that the press conference was nothing more than a propaganda stunt by the Soviet politburo to improve their stained image in the world’s media by parading out Soviet Jews to sing their praises.
Sadly, for the last four decades, the radical Islamic ayatollah regime in Iran has continued this shameful tradition of using Jews to bolster their anti-Semitic and totalitarian regime in the American and European media. Yet in a recently published story by the Orthodox-Jewish Ami Magazine in New York, Gerami couldn’t help but repeat his typical propaganda talking points of “how well the Iranian regime treats Iran’s Jews.” Gerami cannot be faulted for wanting to please his ayatollah overlords in Tehran with positive news coverage for them and in turn wanting to protect Iran’s Jews from possible attacks. The real fault lays with the editors of the magazine for shamefully publishing his words verbatim without also doing their own research and disclosing the facts of the countless attacks Iran’s Jews have faced in recent years at the hands of the regime’s thugs, the vehemently anti-Semitic laws of the regime, and the regime’s sickening repeated denials of the Holocaust.
Eliyana Adler Jewish Historian Tells Polish Govt to shove their $19,000 Award Where the Sun Doesn't Shine
Jewish American historian Eliyana Adler refused to accept an award worth $19,000 from the Polish government’s Pilecki Institute, arguing that it suppresses work by “historians who strive to show the complex and indeed tragic aspects of Poland’s wartime past.”
Adler, an associate professor at Penn State University, was given a newly inaugurated award for scholarship on 20th-century Poland, the Pilecki Institute’s specialty, for her 2020 book “Survival on the Margins: Polish Jewish Refugees in the Wartime Soviet Union.” The honor was to be co-awarded by the Auschwitz memorial museum.
“The Pilecki Institute, while very generous in supporting some historical scholarship on the Second World War, has also been involved in suppressing the work of historians who strive to show the complex and indeed tragic aspects of Poland’s wartime past,” Adler wrote in a letter dated Nov. 4 to the institute. It was published online on Friday.
Polish governmental institutions have been accused by historians of whitewashing the country’s treatment of Jews during the Holocaust. The country passed a widely criticized law in 2019 that makes it illegal to blame the Polish nation for Nazi crimes.
A recent high-profile court case pitted historians Jan Grabowski and Barbara Engelking against Poland’s government, which ruled that the pair had to apologize for their book unearthing alleged atrocities by a Polish mayor. An appeals court overturned the ruling in August.
“War and occupation push humans and societies to their limits. The situation during World War II was horrific for all Poles, albeit not in equal measure. Some non-Jewish Poles, as profiled on the institute’s website, lost their lives protecting their Jewish compatriots. Others, as we know from the scholarship of Professors Jan T. Gross, Jan Grabowski, and Barbara Engelking among others, profited in a variety of ways from the murder of their neighbors,” Adler wrote in her letter.
According to the book’s press description, Adler’s work focuses on Between 1940 and 1946, “about 200,000 Jewish refugees from Poland” who from 1940 to 1946 “lived and toiled in the harsh Soviet interior.”
“They endured hard labor, bitter cold, and extreme deprivation. But out of reach of the Nazis, they escaped the fate of millions of their coreligionists in the Holocaust,” the description reads.
The Pilecki Institute is named after Witold Pilecki, a general who helped found the Secret Polish Army, a major resistance movement against the Nazis during World War II. Pilecki faked his identity to enter Auschwitz, where he helped organize an uprising and gathered reporting on Nazi atrocities.

Aman indicated in his letter that the delay in prosecuting these serious crimes will create a feeling among Palestinian citizens in general, farmers and the national private sector in particular, that the implementation of the decision by Law No. 4 of 2010 regarding banning and combating settlement products is not being imposed, and that the perpetrators of these crimes are evading punishment.

I was wondering why Ami Magazine would feature this Rabbi from Iran and give him the front cover.
Even a fool knows that this Rabbi cannot say what he really wants to say; if he did, the Iranian Mullas would learn with him the sugye of Mesactas Beitza, when he returns.
I remember well when I was only a young boy, Reb Yehuda Leib Levin the then Chief Rabbi of Moscow came to New York in 1968 and said on a radio interview the following about Jews living under Communist rule:
"all the restrictions on culture, work and similar matters were eliminated and the Jews have the same rights as other nationalities."
Charges of such anti-semitism, he said, stemmed from "bad tongues, evil tongues, those that engage in gossip" and were circulated by "false prophets" who sought "strained relations among the governments"
Of course, none of that was remotely true, but Chareidim saw him as a heroic figure who had managed to maintain some semblance of Jewish life, such as synagogue activities and matzoh baking in his officially atheistic country, and saw him as a tragic figure who had to say publicly what he with his deep religious convictions, did not really believe.
At least Reb Yuda Leib was a huge scholar a talmid chachim of note and who had learned in Slobodka, under R' Baruch Ber Leibowitz. And it's important to note that Communist Russia didn't vow publicly to wipe Israel off the map.
Rabbi Yehuda Gerami, Chief Rabbi of Iran, in an interview with Ami Magazine says the following about Jews living in Iran
"Everyone is able to live openly as a Jew without any problems. They do not need to hide their Judaism. We have full freedom of religion. We are able to keep all of the mitzvot. The vast majority of Jewish Iranians keep kashrut, anti-semitism is the exception rather than the rule. We are able to walk through the streets in our kippot."
And adds with a straight face:
"The observance of Shabbat has improved a lot in recent years. Today, baruch Hashem, most of the Jews in the country are Shomer Shabbat."
Without realizing he says nonchalantly:
"Most people don't have mezuzot on their front door, not because of anti-semitism but because of fear that they will be stolen. But inside the house there are mezuzot on every door."
Then he drops a bomb:
"We also respect the law. It is illegal to travel to Israel, so we don't do it." I guess not if you want to continue breathing Iranian air.
Yitzchok Frankfurter the one who did the interview writes, thinking that his readers are a bunch of idiots...
"The picture Rabbi Gerami paints of Jewish life in Iran is quite a good one. In some ways, it echoes some of the challenges faced by many who live in "out of town" communities."

Is Yitzi Frankfurter encouraging frum Jews to move to Iran? After all its a country where almost everyone "is shomar shabbat" "and you can walk the streets of Teheran with a kippa"
Now read what the "upgerissiner naar" Frankfurter says:
"I ask Rabbi Gerami if after the Islamic Revolution, when the entire country became more religious, it became some what easier for Jews to be religious as well."
We all knew that Frankfurter is not the sharpest blade in the drawer but now I question if he has all his marbles .
Before the revolution, the Shah was in power, Iran was basically a free country like any other Western European country, so now he asks the good rabbi from Iran if Jews have it easier with Koumani in power? How is this guy an editor?
Now let's go back to my opening sentence:
Why would Ami Magazine feature this Iranian stooge and give him the front cover?
Iran told this Gerami guy, leave your wife and children here and go to the USA and portray the Iranian murderers in a good light, so the world would be fooled into thinking that Iran loves Jews!
Iran the country that vowed to wipe Gerami's brothers and sisters living in Israel, off the map, and who are developing nuclear weapons to do just that, ordered this "chuchim" to spread the lies and propaganda, to make the Mullas look civilized.
Ami Magazine with its naive and foolish editor "Yitzy the Frank" is helped him with this charade.
Any Jewish blood that will G-d forbid be spilled because of this dirty and dangerous scheme will be on the head of this fool, Yitzy Frankfurter.
