Crazed antisemites now blaming Israel and the Jewish people for the recent migrant surge into Spain

 

A new report by the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) claims that antisemitic conspiracy theories blaming Israel and the Jewish people for the recent migrant surge into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta spread widely on X, reaching an estimated audience of more than 100 million people within 72 hours.

According to an analysis by CAM's Antisemitism Research Center (ARC), 173 posts from 119 influencer accounts recast the border crisis as a Jewish plot, generating 57.5 million views, an estimated reach of 103.1 million people, 1.9 million likes, and more than 368,000 shares.

Between 50,000 and 60,000 migrants crossed into Ceuta on July 30, prompting Spain to declare a state of emergency. The migrant influx followed a Spanish domestic legal ruling and came amid ongoing tensions between Spain and Morocco, as well as years of pressure on Europe's asylum system.

While the causes of the crisis were publicly documented, conspiracy theories rapidly gained traction on X, claiming that Israel and the Jewish people had orchestrated the events.

The ARC said its analysis focused exclusively on named, monetized influencer accounts rather than anonymous users or bot networks. According to the report, many of the accounts held paid verification, which CAM said gives their content greater visibility through X's recommendation systems.

Among the examples cited in the report was an account identified as "Forbidden HQ," which allegedly shared an image depicting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with migrants emerging from his mouth onto a Spanish beach. CAM said the post was viewed 5.3 million times and was accompanied by additional claims portraying Morocco as an Israeli puppet state.

The report also cited a post by social media personality Dan Bilzerian, which CAM said received 2.7 million views. According to CAM, Bilzerian falsely claimed that Prime Minister Netanyahu had threatened Spain with "the ultimate price" over its criticism of Israel, combining that allegation with an unrelated Israeli Foreign Ministry holiday greeting to Morocco.

CAM further alleged that an account calling itself "China Times," which it said is unaffiliated with any Chinese news organization, falsely claimed Israel had admitted to engineering the migration through the Mossad, citing a parody account as evidence.

According to the report, shares significantly outnumbered comments across the analyzed posts, suggesting that users were more likely to amplify the claims than challenge them.

The ARC also found that similar narratives appeared across far-right, far-left, and Islamist accounts, despite their differing political ideologies.

According to CAM, far-right accounts promoted longstanding antisemitic "Great Replacement" theories alleging that Jewish elites are engineering demographic change in Europe. The report said far-left figures, including author Susan Abulhawa, claimed that the migrant surge had been "completely engineered by the US, Israel, and Morocco," while other accounts linked Spain's support for the Palestinians and other geopolitical developments to what they described as an Israeli plot.

CAM also cited posts falsely attributing statements to Spanish actor Javier Bardem alleging that Israel planned the migration in retaliation for Spain's criticism of Israel. According to the report, Bardem made no such statement, but the claim was subsequently amplified by commentator Mia Khalifa.

The report said additional posts attempted to portray Morocco's military cooperation with Israel as evidence that Israel orchestrated the migrant crossing, while others revived longstanding antisemitic narratives portraying Jewish people as manipulating migration to undermine European society.

"A humanitarian emergency at Europe's border was turned into a global antisemitic campaign in under 72 hours, and X did nothing to slow it down. This is not a story about a few bad actors. It is a story about a platform whose design rewards the fastest and most inflammatory explanation available, and on X that explanation is increasingly a Jewish conspiracy," said CAM CEO Sacha Roytman Dratwa.

CAM called on X to introduce what it described as algorithmic safeguards for keywords associated with established antisemitic tropes during humanitarian emergencies, remove accounts spreading such content from the platform's advertising and verification benefits, and deploy expert Community Notes in partnership with organizations, including CAM, to provide historical context in real time.

The movement argued that X's recommendation systems are amplifying antisemitic content and called on the platform to take action against what it described as the demonization of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

The report also found that antisemitic incidents across the seven largest Jewish diaspora communities have risen dramatically in recent years, with overall incidents up 136% since 2022 and violent attacks increasing by 97%.

Oct. 7 survivor commits suicide on the grave of his girlfriend who was murdered by Hamas

 

An Oct. 7 survivor died by suicide over the grave of his girlfriend, who had been murdered by Hamas.

The body of Bar Asraf, 30, was found at the cemetery Saturday. His partner, Liron Barda, was working at a bar at the Nova Music Festival when Hamas attacked, and she tended the wounded until she was killed. She was 26.

Jérémy Benhaïm, a French Jewish activist, broke the news of Asraf’s death, posting on X that “Since the pogrom of Oct. 7, 2023, during which his partner, Liron Barda, was murdered by Hamas, Bar had been struggling … Throughout this period, he had remained very close to Liron’s parents, visiting them regularly.”

“The horror of Oct. 7, it’s also this,” Benhaïm added. “Let us never forget. May his memory be a blessing.”

Video footage of Barda on Oct. 7 shows her administering first aid to victims of the attack. Her father told an Israeli outlet that he had begged her to escape.

“I spoke to her that morning. I asked her to leave the area. She refused; she said there were wounded people, and she was staying,” said her father, Avi. “This was Liron. I would have been surprised if she agreed to flee.”

The Storm Surrounding the Yenuka’s Legal Move

From moral lectures to the courtroom — the man who consistently preaches that accepting insults serves as atonement for the Jewish people has now turned to the civil courts.

The Yenuka’s decision to file a lawsuit against journalist Israel Fridlis continues to stir widespread astonishment and raise sharp questions about the gap between his words and deeds.

Following a video attached to the post, many followers wonder how someone who teaches his disciples that accepting humiliation is “the greatest gift” and “atonement for the Jewish people” chooses to wage a legal battle in civil court the moment he himself faces criticism.

The question is especially pressing in this tense period of security threats and after the passing of Rabbi Amos, known as “the protector of the generation,” when the Jewish people most need salvation and spiritual atonement.

Critics argue that this is not an innocent act of self‑defense but a carefully planned tactical move.

Its goal, they claim, is to create a smokescreen, intimidate critics, and block negative publications so that followers and the public will not be exposed to materials that cast doubt on his credibility.

Within the Torah world, harsh criticism has also arisen over the very choice to turn to civil courts — a step viewed as a serious halachic violation when done without explicit permission from a rabbinical court.

Conversely, those close to the Yenuka vehemently reject these accusations, asserting that the move — taken only after about a year and a half of silence — is a necessary measure to prevent harm, threats, and incitement against someone they regard as the greatest sage of the generation.

The controversy has sparked a broader discussion about the boundaries between spiritual ideals and practical defense. Is this a legitimate act of protection, or a maneuver meant to silence criticism?

I am hoping that we turned a corner and that reasonable Chardeim will abandon Degel, Shas and Aguda and vote for what is really best for our community in Eretz Yisrael!

Belzer Rebbe Went out of his way to attend the Levaya of Rav Yaakov Farber who encouraged Chareidim to get a trade

 

An Israeli news anchor, Reem Aminoach, who doesn't wear a yarmulka, took a moment on air this week to praise the Belzer Rebbe Shlit”a after his appearance at the levaya of Reb Yaakov (Yanky) Farber A”H.

Yanky, a Belzer askan, was niftar earlier this week at the age of 32 following a serious illness. He is survived by his widow and six children, and was widely respected for his work helping avreichim and families secure employment and vocational training.

The anchor noted that the Rebbe, despite his own poor health and his general practice of not attending levayos, left his home to be there, while an Israeli soldier appeared in his path towards the levaya.

The anchor was impressed that the Rebbe's attendants and other chassidim did not protest the soldier's presence or attempt to move him.

"The Belzer Rebbe," the anchor said, "he's my man."

Jew-hating Cornell student begging for cash online after parents kick him out of their house

 

The Cornell University student who declared he’s “not interested in working for a Jew” got tossed from his parents’ $1.75 million home in Virginia — and is now sniveling online for cash.  

Austin Franco, who went viral for declining a job interview at NYC startup VryfID for antisemitic reasons, took to X on Wednesday, declaring, “My parents are kicking me out.”

But the hater did get some good news the next day, as Cornell revealed to The Post that, unlike his disappointed parents, Alexander and Diana, the liberal upstate college won’t kick him to the curb.

The rising junior created a GiveSendGo campaign, which has already amassed more than $7,000 from twisted supporters — on top of the roughly $25,000 raised in a separate fundraiser. 

“I will be kicked out of my home on August 1st. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated, as would any advice,” the 19-year-old whined. 

“I have reiterated that my parents do not share my views, and it seems they no longer wish to provide me with a home to live in. I know the road ahead will be difficult, but this is the path I chose.”

Franco painted himself as a martyr.

Bret Stephens is one of the most respected defenders of Israel in American journalism. That is precisely why his recent New York Times column on “settler terrorism" is so damaging. It is also far from reflecting the truth.

Stephens argues that anyone concerned about Israel should condemn anti-Palestinian Arab violence by Jews in Judea and Samaria. On that point, he is right.

 Any Jews who burn mosques, attack innocent Arabs, destroy property or take the law into their own hands should be arrested, prosecuted and punished. Such conduct is criminal, morally indefensible and strategically harmful. No serious defense of Israel requires defending lawlessness. Almost all Israelis, including those in Judea and Samaria, agree to that.

But Stephens does something else.

 He presents the few episodes of Jewish violence largely outside the environment of Palestinian Arab terrorism in which Israelis in Judea and Samaria live. He then uses this one-sided picture to reinforce his continued belief in Palestinian Arab statehood. The result is not moral clarity. It is moral judgment without perspective-and political prescription without evidence.

Because Stephens is widely regarded as a principled defender of Israel, his words carry unusual authority. When he adopts the familiar libel of “violent settlers" confronting essentially passive Palestinian Arabs, he does more than criticize criminals. He gives credibility to a narrative that turns a small number of Jewish offenders into representatives of an entire population while pushing Palestinian Arab violence to the margins.

A demonstration in support of those involved in last month's riot outside the home of Israeli Supreme Court Deputy President Justice Noam Sohlberg was held in Jerusalem and ended in violence, during which three Haredi soldiers serving in the IDF's Netzah Yehuda Battalion were attacked.

The event began with a vehicle convoy from Beit Shemesh to Jerusalem, after which participants continued on foot to Shabbat Square. During the march, demonstrators carried signs opposing the enlistment of Haredim into the IDF, including one reading, "We will never serve in the enemy's army."

Participants also shouted slogans against police officers, and in several instances objects were thrown at them.

The three soldiers, who happened to pass through the area by chance, were assaulted by some of those attending the protest.

The march took place following the release of 63 haredi suspects who had been arrested in connection with last month's riot outside Justice Sohlberg's home in Alon Shvut.

According to the investigation, the rioters damaged Sohlberg's home and the family's vehicle. Windows were smashed, flower pots and planters were broken, and the entrance to the house was vandalized. Israeli flags bearing swastikas were also placed in the street.

Following the incident, Justice Sohlberg's wife, Meira Sohlberg, described what they found upon returning home.

"We are children of Holocaust survivors," she said. "Jews are hurting one another like this. Look at this destruction-a pogrom. What is this, Kristallnacht?"
