Chaverim Of Rockland Saves Monsey Couple From Losing $51,000 in Sophisticated Microsoft Scam
Chaverim Of Rockland Saves Monsey Couple From Losing $51,000 in Sophisticated Microsoft Scam, Stops Wire Transfer Just in Time
A quick and coordinated response by Chaverim Of Rockland saved an elderly Monsey couple from losing $51,000 Friday after they fell victim to a sophisticated Microsoft tech support scam that lasted for hours.
The ordeal began early Friday when a pop-up message appeared on the couple’s computer claiming it had been compromised. Moments later, scammers posing as Microsoft representatives contacted the couple and convinced them that criminals had used their computer to commit serious crimes. The callers falsely claimed federal authorities would arrest them unless they immediately followed their instructions.
For hours, the scammers manipulated and intimidated the couple, keeping them on the phone the entire time and ordering them not to hang up or speak with anyone else. Under immense pressure, the elderly couple drove to their bank and insisted on wiring $51,000 to an account controlled by the scammers.
Even after they returned home, the scammers continued trying to gain access to additional bank accounts and personal information through the compromised computer in an attempt to steal even more money.
Shortly before 5:00 p.m., the wife began to realize something didn’t seem right and contacted Chaverim Of Rockland.
Recognizing the urgency, Chaverim immediately dispatched one volunteer to the couple’s home while another rushed directly to the bank. In a race against the clock, the volunteer worked with bank employees to stop the wire transfer while it was still being processed, successfully saving the couple’s entire $51,000. At the same time, the volunteer at the home helped disconnect the scammers, secure the computer, and begin protecting the couple’s financial accounts from further compromise.
The Ramapo Police Department responded to the residence and took a report.
This incident is a stark reminder that Microsoft, Apple, the FTC, banks, and law enforcement agencies will never demand that you wire money, purchase gift cards, or threaten you with arrest over the phone or through a computer pop-up. If you receive a suspicious call or message, hang up immediately and contact a trusted family member, your bank, local police, or Chaverim before taking any action

No Khan' do Ro Khanna ....The lying Congressman that says that he was "detained by IDF and Settlers"
US Rep. Ro Khanna is a charlatan and dishonest. His tour was halted on the bus because they entered a closed military zone (CMZ) which is prohibited (due to safety) to civilians.
Police were called in to discuss the problem with the tour organizer who had repeatedly attempted to enter the CMZ in the past as well. The bus had to wait until the arrival of the officers to the scene, which is what caused the delay. It was not a "detainment" and no one was arrested.
Police stated they have already reviewed the body cam footage of police at the scene confirming this account. The tour participants were also briefed and then continued on their way. Much like Rahm Emanuel, this is another example of a propagandist (who behaves as if he is paid by America's enemies) intentionally orchestrating a scene to provoke attention and whine about Israel.
According to a source for the New York Post, Ro Khanna was invited to meet freed hostages and survivors of October 7th.
Khanna's team didn't even bother to respond.
His team was also offered an opportunity to meet with Druze civilians in the Golan Heights and a briefing on how aid is currently getting into Gaza. They didn't take it.
Now, if Ro Khanna genuinely believes that aid is not properly getting into Gaza, why not go to the briefing? If he thinks Israel is lying, wouldn't that be the perfect time to get proof?
But he didn't go, because those aren't his intentions. He didn't want to meet with victims of Hamas or those trying to get as much aid into Gaza as they can because they contradict his narrative.
And the narrative is all that matters.
Israel Loses Big Friend in Congress as US Senator Lindsey Graham passes away at 71 years old
US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has passed away at the age of 71. A statment from his office confirmed the death, saying the Senator suffered from a brief and sudden illness. It went on to say that his family appreciates prayers at htis time and asks for privacy during this period.
Graham was seen as a staple of American political life for over 30 years. He first entered national US politics in 1992 as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. He eventually became a Senator of South Carolina in 2003, serving in the upper chamber for over 20 years. Over the last year and a half, he had been serving as the Chair of the Senate Budget Committee.
The Senator was heavily involved in both Americans domestic and foreign policy until the very end, having met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv just last week.
Graham was also a fierce ally of Israel and its fight against Iran and its proxies. Israeli politicians like National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir are already offering their condolences. In a post on X, Ben Gvir wrote that Israel had lost one of its "greatest friends." He said Senator Graham stood with Israel "not because it was easy, but because he believed it was right."
Opposition leader Naftali Bennett also wrote a note about Senator Graham. On X, Bennett wrote "America has lost a devoted patriot, and Israel has lost one of its greatest friedns."
Graham was up for re-election during the November midterms this year.

“How can you speak about a Rosh Yeshiva and question whether he’s even a rabbi? That’s not just an insult to a person - it’s an insult to an entire community. This isn’t the first time - time after time he insults a whole segment of the nation.”

12th-grade student at Shvut Yisrael completes Shas
A celebration was held Thursday evening at Yeshivat "Shvut Yisrael" in Efrat, part of the "Merkaz HaRav" network, marking the completion of the Shas by 12th-grade student Tuvia Cohen, a resident of the community of Revava. Cohen began studying the Shas [Talmud] in ninth grade, alongside his regular yeshiva studies.
The yeshiva described the event as a special celebration of Torah, attended by yeshiva students, members of the Cohen family, friends from Revava, and rabbis. Among those present were Rabbi Rafael Eifres, one of the leading rabbis of the Netherlands and among Europe's prominent rabbinical judges, as well as the Kaliver Rebbe.
Yeshiva head Rabbi Yaakov Elimelech shared with students' parents remarks he wrote following the event. According to him, during the dancing, one of the students approached him and said, "Rabbi, the floor is shaking." He replied, "Dear student, you are mistaken. The floor is dancing, and not only is the floor dancing, but the heavens are also dancing." He added that this was how a new interpretation of the verse, "Let the heavens rejoice and the earth exult," was revealed to him.
Rabbi Elimelech further wrote that the joy at the yeshiva was "as great as the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai," adding: "Fortunate is the eye that witnessed all this... Fortunate are the students, fortunate are their parents, and fortunate is the entire nation that it has such."
The yeshiva noted that in the month of Elul, Tuvia Cohen is expected to join, along with some of his friends, the hundreds of young Torah scholars at Yeshivat "Merkaz HaRav," where he will continue his studies.
