Incredible ..Charedim Blaming Zionists because of their own Failures in Childcare Tragedy

Baby sleeping under a toilet in the Chardeie childcare

Just that everyone knows and understands this childcare was in operation for over 30 years, there is no way that the parents never noticed that babies were sleeping under toilets!

by Rationalist Judaism

An utterly appalling tragedy happened in Jerusalem today. Two babies died and fifty-three other babies were sent to hospital as a result of an accident at a daycare center. The precise cause of the accident is not clear, but it involved toxic fumes from faulty or unsafe electrical equipment.

Within an hour of the horrific news spreading, charedi politicians had already taken advantage of this tragedy. They seized upon it to blame the Zionists. Their arguments run as follows:

This daycare center was not a proper licensed facility; it was an unlicensed and unsafe venture that crowded a huge number of babies into apartments. There were even babies put down on mattresses under a toilet. And whose fault is it that charedim are sending their babies to unlicensed, unsafe daycare? The Zionists, of course!

Why the Zionists? Because the High Court recently cut daycare subsidies for draft-dodging charedim, which leaves them unable to afford safe, licensed daycare for their babies while the husbands are in kollel and the wives are out at work. The Zionists, insisted the charedi MKs, have the blood of charedi children on their hands.

(One cannot but wonder what their response would have been if the tragedy had involved babies from non-charedi families. I suspect it would have been like with October 7th, which was diagnosed by R. Aharon Feldman and R. Moshe Meiselman as a message from God about the sinful ways of the Zionists, and/or as evidence of the dangers that face those who are not protected by Torah.)

Naturally, it wasn’t just the charedi MKs that seized upon the tragedy to advance a (false) political message. It was also the charedi enablers - the Likud politicians and the Bibi-supporters of Channel 14, who placed the blame on the High Court’s cancellation of daycare subsidies cut rather than on the charedim.

It is therefore necessary to address all the lies, slander, moral flaws, and dangers in the arguments being presented today by the charedi political leaderships:

Yerushalyim Daycare Found Severely Overcrowded After Fatal Incident ..Was Unlicensed, of course

Footage broadcast by Channel 12 News revealed extreme overcrowding and hazardous conditions inside an unlicensed daycare in the Romema neighborhood, where two babies died earlier today.

According to first responders, infants and young children were put down to sleep in closets, hallways, and bathrooms, with some lying on mattresses placed next to a toilet. Videos aired by the network show cramped spaces filled with children resting on top of one another.

Emergency personnel told Ynet that dozens of babies and toddlers were packed into cupboards and bathroom areas, while the air conditioner was running at an unusually high temperature described as life threatening.

Additional footage aired by Channel 13 News appeared to corroborate the severe overcrowding

In total, two infants were pronounced dead and 53 other children were hospitalized. Authorities have detained three caregivers in connection with the incident.

Fifty-three children injured at Yerushlayim Charedie childcare site, two dead.

A large number of young children were reported injured Monday afternoon at a preschool on Hamem-gimmel Street in Jerusalem's Romema neighborhood.

A total of 55 children were evacuated from the daycare center to hospitals in the city. Among them were two four-month-old infants in critical condition who were evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center while undergoing resuscitation; they were later declared dead.

The daycare facility in question operated privately out of a private home, without a license and illegally. Three daycare workers were detained for questioning.

Magen David Adom (MDA) teams called to the scene are providing lifesaving treatment to approximately 12 children with varying degrees of injuries.

United Hatzalah first responders and ambulance crews provided emergency medical treatment on Monday to two infants found unconscious and 21 children who sustained minor injuries at the daycare.

United Hatzalah EMT Zeevi Klein reported:

"I arrived at the scene and began performing CPR on a 4-month-old female infant who had lost consciousness in the living room. A 4-month-old male infant was then located unconscious in a bedroom, and I performed resuscitation efforts on him as well, which included the use of a United Hatzalah defibrillator. Both infants were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Additionally, United Hatzalah ambulance crews transported 21 other children from the scene who were conscious and in stable condition."

Firefighters called to the scene worked to monitor the site and concluded that there were no dangerous levels of materials around the preschool.

It was later reported that a toxic chemical substance had apparently leaked from the heating system.

The incident is being investigated.

President Isaac Herzog said in response to the tragic incident: "I share in the deep sorrow of the parents of the babies and the pain of the families. The loss of the lives of young toddlers is a deep, indescribable heartbreak, and my heart goes out to all the parents and children who were affected."

Herzog called for a thorough investigation of the incident:

"We must investigate, clarify and understand what happened, draw lessons and bring justice to justice. Supervision of early childhood settings is a critical component of the safety and well-being of our children. All parties must ensure enforcement, safety and full responsibility so that such a disaster does not happen again."

Church leaders in Israel condemn Christian Zionism as a 'damaging ideology'

The leaders of the major Roman Catholic, Eastern Catholic, Orthodox, and other churches in the region issue a condemnation of Christian Zionism, which they call one of the “damaging ideologies” being pushed in Israel that “mislead the public, sow confusion, and harm the unity of our flock.”

“These undertakings have found favor among certain political actors in Israel and beyond who seek to push a political agenda which may harm the Christian presence in the Holy Land and the wider Middle East,” say the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in the Holy Land, who also emphasize their concern that Christian Zionists “have been welcomed at official levels both locally and internationally.”

The Church leaders insist that “they alone represent the Churches and their flock in matters pertaining to Christian religious, communal, and pastoral life in the Holy Land.”

Israel Moves Closer to Allowing Uber and Lyft to Operate Nationwide

Israel is taking a significant step toward opening its roads to ride-hailing services, as the Ministerial Committee for Legislation has approved a draft bill that would allow companies such as Uber and Lyft to operate legally across the country.

The proposed legislation, sponsored by Blue and White MK Eitan Ginsburg and Likud MK Moshe Passal, would permit shared ride-hailing platforms to connect private drivers with passengers through mobile applications. Following the committee’s approval, the bill is expected to advance to a preliminary reading in the Knesset as early as next week.

In recent months, Transportation Minister Miri Regev has been working to pave the way for Uber’s entry into the Israeli market, potentially as early as the beginning of this year. Beyond passenger rides, Uber also offers services such as food delivery, freight, and other on-demand mobility options.

According to the Transportation Ministry, the draft bill is designed to comprehensively regulate ride-hailing services in Israel. The framework would address passenger safety, driver screening, insurance requirements, and vehicle condition monitoring, while also establishing a compensation and support mechanism for the local taxi industry as new competitors enter the market.

US Discusses Possible Asylum for British Jews Amid Antisemitism Concerns ,,,,From the Frying Pan into the Fire Itself

I remember when Jews in Poland trying to escape, ran to Hungary and Romania to save themselves from the Nazis! Didn't do them any good! Are we never going to learn from the past? Chassidim believe they are going to be safe in the USA!

In 2024, antisemitic incidents in the U.S. reached a record high, with the Anti-Defamation League reporting 9,354 incidents, a 5% increase from 2023.  and the actual number may be higher due to underreporting.  This report does not include 2025, which make these numbers basically a joke!

Officials in the Trump administration have held preliminary discussions about the possibility of offering asylum to Jewish residents of the United Kingdom amid concerns over rising antisemitism there, according to a report Sunday in The Telegraph.

The newspaper reported that the idea was raised by Robert Garson, a British-born lawyer who serves on the board of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council and has ties to President Donald Trump. Garson told The Telegraph he has spoken with officials at the U.S. State Department about whether the United States could provide refuge to British Jews who feel unsafe.

The discussions are described as informal and exploratory, and no official policy proposal has been announced. Any move to offer asylum would face significant legal and diplomatic hurdles, as U.S. asylum law generally requires individuals to demonstrate a well-founded fear of persecution on a case-by-case basis.

Jewish organizations in Britain have reported increased anxiety following a rise in antisemitic incidents, protests and threats in recent years, particularly since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war. Surveys cited by advocacy groups show a growing number of British Jews questioning their long-term security in the country.

Legal experts told The Telegraph that granting asylum based broadly on religion or nationality would represent a departure from standard U.S. practice and could strain relations with a close ally. The United States has also imposed strict limits on refugee admissions, which could further complicate any expansion of asylum eligibility.

Neither the White House nor the State Department has publicly commented on the discussions, and British officials have not responded to the report.

The report comes as the Trump administration has pledged a tougher stance against antisemitism both domestically and abroad, framing the issue as a matter of civil rights and public safety.

MICHAEL COHEN FLIPS — AGAIN

 Remember Michael Cohen

A man who was widely known as Donald Trump's "fixer," Cohen was a lawyer who worked for Trump for many years before Trump first won the presidency in 2016. Then, in legal trouble, Cohen turned on Trump with a vengeance and made common cause with the collection of Resistance warriors, Democrats, NeverTrumpers, and their media allies who devoted their lives to trying to bring the president down

.It didn't end well for Cohen. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to charges of tax evasion — he failed to pay taxes on $4,134,051 in income between 2012 and 2016 — plus defrauding banks and lying to Congress. Desperate to find a way to beat the rap, he came up with new accusations against Trump, hoping that a sympathetic Democrat in Congress might get in touch with prosecutors and help Cohen out.

Iranian media reports say state television was hijacked, airing protest footage and a speech by the crown prince’s heir.

Shapiro Says Harris Vetting Team Questioned His Loyalty Over Israel Ties....Was Asked Whether He’s An Israeli Double Agent

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro revealed that during Kamala Harris’s rushed 2024 VP vetting process, he was asked whether he had ever been “an agent of the Israeli government” — a question he describes as offensive and deeply revealing.

In his upcoming memoir, Shapiro, an observant Jew and self-described Zionist, writes that the question came from a senior member of Harris’s vetting team and reflected the suspicion he faced from parts of the Democratic left over his ties to Israel and his criticism  of antisemitic campus protests after October 7.
