Why Bnei Torah should vote in the WZO elections

DIN: Many Roshei Yeshiva and so called Gedoilim who have no skin in this game ruled that one should not vote!

Harav Moshe Corodovero, writes in his Tomer Devorah (Chapter 7) that one must think constructively on behalf of all Klal Yisrael, for their benefit. The author of Yaaros Devash (Vol 1, on the Bracha of Hosheva Shoifteinu in Shemoine Esra) also discusses this and writes "that all hardships that befall Israel are due to improper leaders"

 By Rabbi Yair Hoffman

This article is about why Bnei Torah should vote in the WZO elections for the frum slates.

Let’s imagine, that we stand at the very formation of Klal Yisroel.  It is time for the brachos.  If things go as planned – well, Aisav would get the brachos.  There is Daas Torah going both ways.  Yitzchok Avinu says – let’s give it to Aisav. Rivka Imeinu says, “No Yaakov, take the funding away from Aisav and take it for yourself – for the future of Torah.  Ki Haim Chayeinu!  Say the words, ‘Anochi.  Aisav Bechorcha.’

But what would have happened if there was a huge outcry against Yaakov?  “How dare you say, ‘Anochi Aisav??!!”  Aisav is a Rasha!  He is a Kofer!  He is a Rotzayach!  He was me’anais a Naarah m’urasa! And you sign on saying Anochi Aisav??”

Ultimately, Yaakov Avinu did say, “Anochi. Aisav Bechorcha. And the Torah world developed along the path that it should have. Boruch Hashem.

This is essentially what is happening now.  There are conflicting Daas Torahs.  One side is saying, “But if you vote – you are joining up with Avodah Zarah! It is Kefira!”

The other side is saying, “The word Zionist is an anglicized version of the word Tzion – which appears in TaNach over 150 times. In Sefer Yishayahu Tzion is mentioned 47 times alone! LeMaan Tzion lo Echesheh  – for the sake of Tzion – I shall not be silent (Yishahayu 62:1)!   Why can’t we sign on a form and have in mind the true Torah definition of the true word?  How are we allowing Kofrim to hijack a word and define the exclusive use of it?

Registering to vote for the frum slate in the WZO election with this in mind is less of a stretch than Yaakov Avinu’s  use of Anochi.  Aisav Bechorcha.

Minister of Housing Goldcrap Dances with Neturie Karta ...Calls for his resignation!

Israeli Minister of Housing and Construction, Yitzhak Goldknopf, is facing significant criticism after being filmed dancing at a family wedding to the song “In their offices, we do not appear, and in the rule of the infidels, we do not believe,” which calls for refusal to serve in the military. The incident occurred on Sunday night at the wedding of his nephew, where Goldknopf was seen dancing with yeshiva students to the controversial tune.

Politicians from across the political spectrum have condemned Goldknopf’s actions. Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett tweeted, “The outrage of government ministers about the disrespect for IDF soldiers means nothing when, at the same time, these ministers are transferring billions in budgets that encourage draft evasion. We don’t need condemnations, but rather a simple action: a complete cessation of budgets for evasion.”

Israel Beiteinu leader MK Avigdor Lieberman also weighed in, calling the video “shameful” and criticizing the minister for celebrating with a group that rejects military service. “While our soldiers risk their lives to defend the homeland, a minister in the Israeli government celebrates with draft dodgers to the sounds of the infamous song: ‘In the rule of the infidels, we do not believe,'” Lieberman wrote.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich expressed his outrage, saying, “Shame and disgrace! We can no longer remain silent in the face of the minister’s indifference, disrespect, and ingratitude toward the State of Israel and its heroic soldiers.”

Fact: Agudas Yisroel Signed Israel’s Declaration of Independence 1948

By Rabbi Yair Hoffman

Just a quick reality check.  After the tragic events of the Holocaust and the displacement and murder of the Kedoshim, Agudas Yisroel did join with Zionist leaders in signing Israel’s Declaration of Independence.   The signer on behalf of Agudah was Rav Yitzchok Meir Levine zt”l, the son-in-law of the Gerrer Rebbe.  Ostensibly, this was done with the agreement of Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l whom at the 4th Knessia Gedolah in Jerusalem 6 years later, sat next to Rav Levine and the Prime Minister of Israel, Moshe Sharret.

Agudah’s primary motivation in signing, it would seem, was to vouchsafe the continuity of Torah and its study in the newly formed State of Israel.  It would also seem that Agudah signed as representatives of the Jewish community in Eretz Yisroel and not as members of the Zionist movement. However, all the signers were members of the People’s Council (see paragraph 11) and joined together with the leaders and members of the Zionist Movement.

AT the 4th Knessiah of Agudath Yisroel held in Jerusalem in 1954, Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l sat next to Rav Yitzchok Meir Levine zt”l, who sat next to Moshe Sharret – the Prime Minister of Israel.

Under these conditions 70 years ago, Agudath Yisroel did join together with leaders of the Zionist Movement with the express purpose of vouchsafing Torah and its values and ideals. To say otherwise is historically inaccurate.  The situation then is analogous to the situation today if not more so.  Shouldn’t we follow the example of Klal Yisroel’s leadership when these challenges first arose?  Or should we shift gears and allow the anti-religious secularists to do what they will?   There are letters from Gedolei HaRoshei Yeshivaand Poskim in Eretz Yisroel that I have seen saying that it is a most worthy endeavor for Bnei Torah to vote for the Shomrei Torah slate in this WZO election.  There is also a video of Rav Chaim zt”l to this effect below.

It is because of the votes made five years ago, that this past December 8 million dollars was alotted to Yeshivos and Seminaries, including one Million dollars ro the Mir Yeshiva.

What follows is the text of the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel and its signees.

Satmar Marks 800th Yurzeit of 150 Jews that Committed Suicide in the "Clifford Towers" in York Because British Murderers Made them Convert

The Satmar Yiddish Newspaper Der Yid reports that this Yurzeit was written up in a British website and that the comments all mocked the murdered Jews!

Der Yid has always blasted the Zionists and praised the British in their reports about pre-war2 Palestine!

But in the last few months, Der Yid began a series of articles backtracking on their praise for the British  and finally reporting the truth about the vicious British attacks against the Jews in the then Palestine! Without mentioning Zionists they now state that "Jews had no choice but to defend against the British sadists and murderers"

I believe that the backtracking is because of the recent antisemitic acts against Chassidic Jews in London and they are now realizing that maybe the Zionists were actually right!

Netanyahu 100% right about Israel’s ‘deep state’

For liberal leftist critics of Israel’s government, it was just the latest example of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s effort to follow the same playbook as President Donald Trump.

When the former spoke recently of the efforts on the part of Israel’s “deep state” to derail his government, both Israelis who voted for Netanyahu’s political opponents in the last election and Democrats who backed former Vice President Kamala Harris tuned out everything that followed. As far as they are concerned, talk of a “deep state” in either country is just a right-wing conspiracy theory that is part of an attempt by both leaders to overturn or seriously undermine democracy.

That’s also the line that most pundits are spreading about the prime minister’s move to fire the head of the Shin Bet (Internal Security Agency) and the attorney general, as he seeks to carry on the war on Hamas without being held back by opponents inside the governing apparatus. Such analysts claim that Netanyahu’s assertions about an army of bureaucrats—aided by elites who run the business, legal, media, academic and cultural establishments—is seeking to sabotage his government, is a figment of his imagination.

If only that were true
