“I don’t speak because I have the power to speak; I speak because I don’t have the power to remain silent.” Rav Kook z"l

As a lifelong Dem, I never thought I’d see my party embarrass itself so much

by Council Member Robert Holden (D) represents District 30 in Queens.

As a lifelong Democrat, I never imagined I would watch my own party embarrass itself so thoroughly — and so publicly — as it did during Tuesday’s joint session of Congress.

From obnoxious booing to childish protest signs to a sitting member of Congress having to be physically removed from the chamber, Democrats turned what should have been a solemn, dignified event into a bad reality show.

And for what?

To go viral on TikTok?

To book a slot on MSNBC to brag about their “resistance”?

Nothing was more disgraceful than when my colleagues refused to stand or clap when 13-year-old DJ Daniel, a brain-cancer survivor, was made an honorary Secret Service agent.

This boy beat cancer and dreamed of protecting the president.

That dream came true when President Donald Trump honored him — a beautiful, human moment that should have transcended politics.

Democrats used to be the party of compassion — the party that stood up for the vulnerable and celebrated stories of triumph over adversity.

Now? We can’t even clap for a kid who beat cancer if the “wrong” president is standing beside him.

When Trump said biological men shouldn’t compete in women’s sports, Democrats acted like he’d proposed banning Little League.

But most Americans — including plenty of Democrats — agree that protecting women’s sports isn’t radical.

It’s common sense.

The same thing happened when Trump called for cutting waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.

Democrats stayed silent.

Are we now the party that supports waste, fraud and abuse?

When Trump honored families whose loved ones were killed due to reckless sanctuary policies — policies I’ve fought to reform in New York City — Democrats couldn’t even show basic respect.

When he honored Stephanie Diller, the widow of murdered NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, it should have been a moment of unity.

Yet many Democrats offered only lukewarm applause, if any at all.

And when Trump called for the death penalty for cop killers, the silence was deafening.

Since when did standing up for the families of fallen officers become controversial?

Another disappointing moment came when President Trump called for peace in Ukraine — a goal that should have brought both sides of the aisle to their feet.

Democrats were once the party of peace, but you wouldn’t know it from the silence.

Have we really reached a point where even supporting peace is treated as partisan?

It’s a sad reflection of how far my party has drifted.

This isn’t principled resistance — it’s emotional immaturity.

It also reeks of hypocrisy: Democrats rightly condemned Republican Rep. Joe Wilson when he shouted, “You lie!” at President Barack Obama during a State of the Union.

Back then, we said such outbursts were beneath the dignity of Congress.

But Democrats’ antics on Tuesday — waving signs, heckling and walking out — were just as bad, if not worse.

Democrat Rep. Al Green even had to be physically removed from the chamber.

When we act like this, we embarrass ourselves and alienate the very voters we claim to champion.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) called it “a sad cavalcade of self-owns and unhinged petulance” that only made Trump look “more presidential and restrained.”

He warned that Democrats are becoming the political equivalent of a car alarm — constantly blaring, and increasingly ignored.

Voters want leaders who act like adults, who clap for good ideas, no matter who proposes them, and who show bipartisan respect for families who’ve suffered unimaginable loss.

Americans are exhausted by this nonsense.

They want leaders who solve problems, not politicians chasing retweets.

They want representatives who stand up for common sense — not political theater.

Until we get back to that, we don’t deserve to govern.

I’m not saying we should agree with everything Trump says — far from it.

However, there’s a way to disagree with dignity and class.

My fellow Democrats didn’t just miss that opportunity — they sprinted in the opposite direction.

I’m embarrassed for my party.

But more importantly, I am worried for my country.

If Democrats can’t even applaud a kid beating cancer, grieving families, saving tax dollars, securing our borders or a call for peace — what does that say about us?

Father of 13-year-old cancer survivor DJ Daniel — honored by Trump Tells Maddow "SHUT UP"

The father of Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel — the 13-year-old cancer survivor who was made an honorary US Secret Service agent during President Trump’s Congressional address Tuesday — has no patience for Rachel Maddow undermining his son’s moment.

“She needs to shut her mouth if she has nothing nice to say,” Theodis Daniel told The Post of the MSNBC anchor, who declared Trump “disgusting” for calling out DJ and his cancer battle.

“This lady didn’t even serve time in the military,” he added. “I was on the USS Kitty Hawk. She does not need to put her bad energy on us.”

DJ stole hearts and inspired a nation when the young Texan was made an honorary US Secret Service agent by director Sean Curran.

“The White House reached out to us and said that President Trump wants to meet Devarjaye,” Theodis Daniel, the boy’s father, told The Post. “They flew us out and FBI agents picked us up at the airport.”

After being sworn in and meeting border czar Tom Homan, DJ and his dad were escorted to prime seats for Trump’s speech.

“We sat next to Mr. Elon [Musk], the first lady was in front of us and Kash Patel was at my son’s right shoulder,” said Theodis, a 47-year-old former machinist mate and fireman with the Navy. “The first lady was nice, sweet, down to earth. Mr. Elon shook hands with us.”

While the Daniel family’s friends and relatives were surprised to hear DJ being favorably singled out by the president — who called him “a young man who truly loves our police” — they were not shocked. According to Theodis, the Secret Service induction marked the young teen’s 909th swear-in as an honorary law enforcer.

“I thought it was awesome for my nephew. He deserves it,” DJ’s aunt Jane Daniel told The Post of the accolades from Trump. “I think that such an honor will help him to reach his goals. If you can accomplish this, you can accomplish anything.”

DJ received his shocking brain cancer diagnosis in September 2018, when he was six years old. The Daniel family had just moved from San Antonio to Houston, and he and his two siblings were getting ready to enroll in new schools.

Before his diagnosis, DJ — inspired by the good work of the Houston PD during Hurricane Harvey — had already decided he wanted to be a police officer when he grows up.

Theodis didn’t want to make his son wait for his dream, so he arranged for DJ to be sworn in as an honorary officer with the police department of Brookshire, Texas, in 2019. The then six-year-old received a uniform and a 10-gallon hat.

“Two years later I called the Texas state troopers to see if they would come out for Devarjaye’s ninth birthday and we had a swarm of police officers,” said Theodis. “The officers swore him in and it grew from there. Suddenly everyone wanted to have him in.”

On Tuesday, Trump announced, “we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all. I am asking our new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States.”

“He takes a lot of pride in being made a police officer,” said Theodis. “The other officers bring him camaraderie and confidence.”

But Theodis, who visited the White House with his son on Wednesday, was not thrilled by Democratic lawmakers heckling the president’s speech. “When [Representative from Texas] Al Green stood up and made that ruckus, I was disgusted,” he said. “What kind of message is he sending?”

Still, DJ’s family will not let that get in the way of their positivity.

“Devarjaye has overcome the odds,” marveled his aunt Jane. “It’s all in who you are inside. I think God has given a tough battle to a good one. I believe that God is looking out for him and making sure that the right hands are touching him.”

Justice Minister Levin launches move to impeach Attorney General

Levin vs AG

Justice Minister Yariv Levin sent a letter on Wednesday to the Cabinet Secretary to advance a motion of no-confidence against Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.

In practice, Levin's letter is the start of the process to impeach the Attorney General in the following manner: first, the cabinet will convene to express no-confidence.

After that, the cabinet will ask the selection committee for its position and after that, a vote will be held which will probably end in Baharav-Miara's impeachment.

In the proposal that he intends to present before the cabinet, Levin wrote: "The cabinet has decided to express no-confidence in Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, due to her inappropriate conduct and due to substantial and continuous disagreements between the government and the Attorney General, which creates a situation that prevents effective cooperation."

Levin accuses: "While she speaks highly of the values of democracy, in truth, she crushed those values that she pretended work for to dust."

Among the reasons that the Justice Minister listed for her impeachment: "The pollution of the position with political considerations, the thwarting of government policies, the thwarting of government legislation, the thwarting of appointments of public servants, the breach of fiduciary duty as a representative of the state in courts, and the abuse of prosecutorial powers through a policy of selective and political enforcement."

IDF Is Shocked By Shin Bet’s Report: “We Have No Knowledge About This”

Ronen Bar Shin Bet Head

The IDF was shocked by part of the Shin Bet report published on Tuesday that revealed an exceptional operational incident that according to them, was completely unknown to them, Army Radio reported.

The Shin Bet’s internal report on its failure to predict or prevent the  October 7 massacre stated that in the days following the massacre, “The Shin Bet sent a dedicated force to the north in preparation for a possible Radwan Force infiltration. This force encountered terrorists and Shin Bet personnel were also injured there.”

Senior officials in the IDF and the Northern Command responded to the report by saying: “We are not familiar with this event. The IDF is not aware of any encounter between Hezbollah terrorists and Shin Bet personnel in the first days of the war.”

It should be noted that after the publication of the investigation, the IDF contacted the Shin Bet requesting clarification.

Many media outlets and politicians excoriated the Shin Bet investigation which pointed fingers at other entities and tried to place the blame for the colossal failure on others.

Army Radio military correspondent Doron Kadosh wrote that the “Shin Bet made good use of being a secret organization to publish a document of ‘main points of investigation,’ most of which blames other factors. It is noticeable that an effort was made to extract one bottom line: ‘We failed, but…’ We failed but the political echelon is more to blame because it led a policy of containment towards the Gaza Strip. We failed but the political echelon did not listen to us all these years when we pushed to carry out targeted killings in the Strip.”

Kadosh noted that important details are missing in the report regarding the organization’s conduct on the fateful night of the attack. “If the Shin Bet believed that this was such important information that required a change in preparation – why did its two representatives in the command’s situational assessment not add a single word to the statements of the intelligence officers from the Southern Command and Gaza Division and challenge them even slightly? And why did the Shin Bet refrain from mentioning this?”

In addition, he noted the contradiction between what the Shin Bet claimed were its positions over the years and its actual actions: “How can the unbelievable gap between so many ‘correct’ and ‘sober’ perceptions presented by the Shin Bet and the fact that the organization supported the moves of the political echelon in the Gaza Strip in recent years be explained? [The Shin Bet chief supported civilian measures for the Gaza Strip, supported the ‘understandings’ that were reached shortly before 7/10, and also supported the entry of Gazan workers].”

Kadosh also criticized the fact that the investigation ignores the central issue of the Gazan workers who entered Israel in the years before the massacre: “Did the workers who entered Israel help Hamas and collect intelligence? Did these workers, under the nose, and with the approval of the Shin Bet, become Hamas agents in Israeli territory?”

“After 16 long months of waiting, the Shin Bet, which failed, could have provided the Israeli public with a more incisive, fairer investigation, which takes full accountability, and without ‘but’. Unfortunately, this was not done,” Kadosh emphasized.

The Shin Bet’s report on the October 7 massacre revealed that if the organization had acted differently in the years leading up to the attack and on the night of the attack, both professionally and managerially, the massacre could have been prevented. “This is not the standard we expected of ourselves and the public expected of us,” Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar stated. However, as noted above, he spent much of the report blaming other factors, especially the political echelon.

Rabbi Flohr Who Wants to raise Funds for Bochrim not to enlist in the IDF Closes His Girls School Because he can't pay his teachers!

TURMOIL IN MONSEY: Girls’ School Bais Shifra Miriam Suspends Classes Amid Financial Crisis!!!!!!

This Flohr guy stopped accepting State funding because this "oiber chuchim" refused to abide by the NYS Education Department regulations, and so he had no money to pay his teachers, but he did find time to schnoor for Bochrim in Israel who refuse to enlist in the IDF! People are now wondering if the reason he didn't pay his teachers was because he pledged the money from their salaries to his holy cause of helping draft evaders!

from the Monsey Scoop

Bais Shifra Miriam, a well-known girls’ school in Monsey that has been serving the community for over 40 years, announced Sunday evening that it will not open its doors on Monday morning due to a financial crisis, leaving hundreds of students and parents in limbo.

Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the closure follows a strike by the school’s teachers, further complicating efforts to keep the institution running. The school, which educates approximately 300 students, has faced mounting financial difficulties in recent years.

Notably, in an effort to avoid regulatory issues with the New York State Education Department (NYSED), the school stopped accepting any state funding in recent years. This decision was made as many yeshivas and Jewish schools have faced increasing pressure from NYS regarding curriculum requirements and oversight, sparking ongoing debates about religious education and parental rights. While the move helped the school maintain its autonomy in chinuch, it also significantly impacted its financial stability.

In response, parents and local askonim are actively working to take over the school and stabilize its operations. Their goal is to resolve the financial crisis and reopen as soon as possible, with hopes of resuming classes in the coming days.

Trump Outraged at Hamas After Meeting Hostages!

“Shalom Hamas” means Hello and Goodbye - You can choose. Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you. Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted! I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say. I have just met with your former Hostages whose lives you have destroyed. This is your last warning! For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance. Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!

Monsey Rabbonim Gather at Skulener Rebbe’s Home to Address Yeshiva Student Draft in Eretz Yisroel

A reader sent me this link!
My first impression was, wow the Skulener Rebbe has a huge home and a large crystal chandelier.
I "fargin" him though I don't have a clue who he is.
I was at his grandfather's tish in Crown Heights when he first arrived from Romania, and I was very impressed with his humility and holiness noticing that, even though I was just a child !

Having said all this, I don't know whether I should laugh or cry reading the story! "Monsey Rabbanim Gather to Address the Yeshiva Student Draft in Eretz Yisrael?"
Yeshiva Bochrim  in Eretz Yisrael who are not "learners" need to enlist in the army as per instructions of Rav Shach z"l (see his letter below)! The State of Israel is in a war for its very survival, husbands and sons who are in reserve have been called to duty, and these guys are hanging out smoking and drinking coffee!
My advice to these rabbis is "STOP WASTING YOUR TIME" and work on your own communities! Thousands of "heimishe" boys and girls are going off the derech. in fact I recognized one of the rabbis sitting there who has a daughter who is totally estranged from the community and living with a goy!
I notice that one of the leading rabbis at this meeting is Rabbi Flohr! Rabbi Flohr just slammed the doors of his girls school, abandoning over 300 girls with nowhere to go!
Flohr "batchie" first take care of the girls to make sure they have a placement before you sit to criticize the Holy State of Israel! How about that?

Work on your own communities, we here in Israel don't need your "gatherings"

I don't recall hearing Rabbis gathering to help Soldiers who are putting their lives on the line, who left their jobs and business'! These living widows could use some shekels to keep their families afloat!
לא בדבשך ולא מעקצך ........... We don't need your honey and we don't need your sting!

A group of prominent Rabbonim from Monsey convened on Sunday afternoon at the home of the Skulener Rebbe of Monsey to discuss the growing concerns surrounding the Israeli government’s push to draft yeshiva students into the army. The Skulener Rebbe himself participated in the meeting, though the gathering included a broader group of Rabbonim and community askonim.

The discussion focused on how American Rabbonim, Roshei Yeshiva, and philanthropists can contribute both financially and strategically to support efforts to protect bnei Torah from conscription. The meeting highlighted the importance of unified action, advocacy, and assistance to ensure that yeshiva students in Eretz Yisroel can continue their Torah learning without disruption.

As the situation continues to develop, participants emphasized the need for collaboration and decisive steps to uphold the values and priorities of the Torah world.

Beit Shemesh Chareidim Riot in Their Very Own Neighborhood and No One Knows Why

Thank the RBS"O that they are keeping it in their own neighborhood! Burning their own garbage containers, blocking traffic in their own neighborhood!

There are two beautiful wedding halls in that neighborhood but personally, I stopped going to weddings that take place in their Araei-miklat! ...There is also a great hardware store there, but I go in the middle of the day when they are still sleeping!
