Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is under fire following the emergence of a video showing him dancing at a Taylor Swift concert in Toronto. The footage, shared widely on social media, has sparked criticism due to its timing, during the violent anti-NATO protests in Montreal.

Missing Chabad emissary: Body found, identity confirmed

 

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced this morning (Sunday) that thebody has been found in the country and that the identity of the deceased has being verified.

The announcement comes amid the search for Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad-Lubavitch emissary to Abu Dhabi who went missing last week.

Rabbi Kogan is an aide to Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Duchman, chief rabbi of the UAE. Both men were in Israel until Tuesday, and met with Yossi Shelley, Israel's next ambassador to the UAE.

It is believed that Kogan was attacked by three Uzbeks, who are suspected of having been hired by Iran. The three allegedly followed Kogan from his workplace, the kosher supermarket in Abu Dhabi, and then escaped to Turkey. Kogan's vehicle was found an hour and a half's distance from Dubai.

An Israeli source told Israel's Kan 11 news channel that Kogan was kidnapped by "terrorists."

When Harav Avraham Yitzchok Kook Refused to Shake Hands with the British High Commissioner "“I do not shake hands defiled with Jewish blood.”

A somber gathering assembled in Jerusalem’s Yeshurun synagogue. The large synagogue and its plaza were packed as crowds attended a memorial service for the Jews of Hevron who had been killed during the Arab riots six months earlier, on August 24th, 1929.

On that tragic Sabbath day, news of deadly rioting in Hevron reached the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem. Yitzchak Ben-Zvi, then director of the National Committee, hurried to Rav Kook’s house. Together they hastened to meet with Harry Luke, the acting British High Commissioner, to urge him to take immediate action and protect the Jews of Hevron.

The Chief Rabbi demanded that the British take swift and severe measures against the Arab rioters.

“What can be done?” Luke asked.

Rav Kook’s response was to the point. “Shoot the murderers!”

“But I have received no such orders.”

“Then I am commanding you!” Rav Kook roared. “In the name of humanity’s moral conscience, I demand this!”

Rav Kook held the acting commissioner responsible for British inaction during the subsequent massacre. Not long after this heated exchange, an official reception was held in Jerusalem, and Mr. Luke held out his hand to greet the Chief Rabbi. To the shock of many, Rav Kook refused to shake it.

Rabbi Zvi Kogan, aide to Abu Dhabi's chief rabbi Missing May Have been kidnapped and murdered ..UPDATED!

 Rabbi Zvi Kogan, one of the Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries to Abu Dhabi, has been missing for several days, and in addition to concerns that he may have been kidnapped, suspicions are growing that he was murdered.

Rabbi Kogan is an aide to Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Duchman, Chief Rabbi of the United Arab Emirates.

The family of the Chabad-Lubavitch emissary to the UAE said that he has not been in touch since Wednesday. The Mossad is also involved.

A statement from the Mossad read: "Zvi Kogan, an Israeli-Moldavian citizen and a Chabad emissary who lives in the UAE, has been missing since Thursday afternoon (November 21, 2024). Since his disappearance, and on the basis of information that this was a terror incident, an intense investigation has been opened in the country. Israeli intelligence and security bodies are working tirelessly out of concern for Zvi Kogan's welfare and safety."

"It should be noted that the National Security Council recently published a Level 3 (moderate level) travel warning for the UAE, and recommended avoiding unnecessary travel to the destination, as well as increased precautions for those who are staying there."
