Incredible pictures show moment USS Carney fired RIM-66M surface-to-air missiles to intercept drones and rockets 'headed for Israel' during NINE-HOUR battle with Iranian-backed militants in the Red Sea

Newly released photos show the dramatic moment a US Navy warship shot down multiple drones and missiles during a nine hour onslaught near the Yemeni coast.

The USS Carney was stationed in the Northern Red Sea on Thursday when it intercepted 15 drones and four cruise missiles which were fired by Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen.

Images from onboard the vessel show the launch of RIM-66M surface-to-air missiles to destroy the devices which were 'headed for Israel'.

It shows fiery explosions mid-air as well as several military service members in the control room of the warship. No injuries were reported onboard or on land among civilians.

The incident was the fourth in three days of increased aggression against US troops in the region as tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East.

Pictures show the USS Carney's close-in weapon system pointing towards a target which has been struck and a fiery cloud is seen in the background.

A second image highlights another missile which has been successfully shot in the air with a view of the side of the warship.

Military personnel are seen concentrating on computer screens in the control room as they intercept the drones and missiles.

An official from the Defense Department said the drones and cruise missiles were shot down using SM-2 surface-to-air missiles.

The source added that the rockets fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militants were clearly headed for Israel.

While a US official added that they do not believe the missiles, shot down over the water, were aimed at the US warship.

The Houthi terrorist group in Yemen has signaled its intention to join the war against Israel.

The Al Tanf Garrison military base in Syria, where there are American troops present, was targeted by two drones on Wednesday.

One was destroyed while the other impacted the base following joint action by US and coalition forces.

Another attack was reported at the Conoco airfield. Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an Iran-backed group, has claimed credit for the attempted strike against the Conoco base, but US officials are yet to confirm that specific strike.

On Tuesday, troops at the al-Asad airbase in Iraq intercepted three drones. To the north, troops the Al-Harir Air Base intercepted another two.

On Wednesday, a contractor at the al-Asad airbase in Iraq died of a heart attack while sheltering amid reports of an incoming attack.

There were minor injuries at the al-Asad base, where troops were only able to intercept one of the drones and damage the other. The extent of those injuries is unclear.

It also remains unclear whether the strikes against the al-Tanf airbase resulted in any damage or injuries.

The strikes come amid increased tension in the Middle East over the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which many now view as a conflict between the West and the Arab world.

President Biden has been steadfast in his support of Israel since Hamas attacked on October 7, supplying military aid and flying to the region in a show of strong alliance.

His visit and ongoing support of Israel whipped up anti-American protesters in Lebanon, where crowds laid siege to the US Embassy in Beirut yesterday.

The State Department has now issued a rare worldwide caution travel advisory for Americans traveling overseas, citing the potential for terror attacks and 'increased tensions' as reason to be on high alert.

Fox News reviews video of Hamas militant's interrogation by Israeli military
The post below contains graphic descriptions Hamas militants were told by their commanders to behead and step on the heads of civilians, the Israeli Military said, citing an interrogation of a Hamas militant reviewed by Fox News.

The Hamas militant said they became animals during the Oct. 7 attack, doing things that humans don't do. According to the Israeli military, the Hamas militant said that videos of the attack were shared in a Telegram group during the Oct. 7 attack while people were still being killed. Some of the details shared by the Hamas militant are too graphic to describe.

Insane MSNBC’s Reid: Even if Hamas Is Using it as a Shield, Israel Is ‘Bombing a Church’

Let me remind the imbecile that calls herself Joy Reid that it was the Christian Churches that advocated the death of Jews for centuries!

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “ReidOut,” host Joy Reid reacted to an Israeli airstrike targeting what it says was a Hamas command center that caused damage to Saint Porphyrius Church by saying that even if “the church is hiding munitions, you’re bombing a church? And, at the end of the day, there is international law?”

NBC News Correspondent Hala Gorani noted that “[T]he Israeli military has said that because Hamas hides among the civilian population, because they have networks and perhaps stockpiles of weapons that they will hide in schools, that they will target those stockpiles and those weapons wherever they are. There are claims that, perhaps, this church was used for that. Although, on the ground, we’re not hearing that.”

Reid then asked,

“[I]sn’t the challenge here that saying the church is hiding munitions, you’re bombing a church? And, at the end of the day, there is international law? And in the case of the bombing of [a] Baptist hospital in Gaza, the archbishop of Canterbury might be surprised to find out that they’re run by Hamas. The doctors there who are trying to save lives might be surprised to find that they’re a legitimate target. Isn’t that the challenge here, that this is a small, compact area, and people can’t leave, in part because the Egyptian leadership has said, … ‘What is happening now in Gaza is an attempt to force civilian residents to take refuge and migrate to Egypt, which should not be accepted.’ ‘Egypt rejects any [attempt] to resolve the Palestinian issue by military means or through the forced displacement of Palestinians’ there’s nowhere for them to go, and their neighboring countries are saying, you can’t force them here to become refugees in Egypt.”

Israel Creates Special Unit to Hunt and Kill Every Participant in Hamas Terror Attack

Israel’s internal security service, the Shin Bet, has created a new unit, “Nili,” whose mission is to find and kill every single individual who participated in the Hamas terror attack on October 7, which saw over 1,400 Israelis murdered.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

In Israel’s ongoing effort to track down all those involved in the brutal terrorist attack that left more than 1,400 victims, the Shin Bet has established a new unit named Nili, an acronym in Hebrew that translates as “The Eternity of Israel Will Not Lie”.

This unit is dedicated to hunting down and eliminating every individual who played a role in the massacre in the western Negev settlements two weeks ago.

This force was specifically set up to target members of Nukhba (a special commando unit within Hamas’s military wing) who infiltrated Israel, executed mass killings in various villages and IDF outposts, and subsequently returned to the Gaza Strip.

Israel has carried out such operations before, notably in the effort to track and kill every Palestinian terrorist who participated in the kidnapping and murder of Israeli athletes at the Olympics in Munich, Germany, in 1972.

As the Jewish Virtual Library notes, “Nili” was also the name of a spy ring operated by Jewish settlers in Palestine during the Ottoman Empire that assisted the British in the First World War.

Detroit Synagogue President Samantha Woll Stabbed to Death...She Co-Founded Muslim-Jewish Forum of Detroit

Samantha Woll, 40, board president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue in Detroit, Michigan, was murdered Saturday, and was found stabbed to death outside her home.

Update: In addition to being a Jewish community leader and a prominent Democratic Party activist, Woll was a co-founder of the Muslim-Jewish Forum of Greater Detroit, an interfaith organization. The forum posted on Facebook: “Sam was one of the dear founders of this forum. She was such a sweet, cheerful, thoughtful soul. May her memory be a blessing.”

The Detroit Free Press reported:

A politically connected Detroit synagogue president was found stabbed dead this morning outside her home in the city’s Lafayette Park neighborhood, east of downtown.

Samantha Woll, 40, led the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue and previously worked for Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin and on the re-election campaign of Attorney General Dana Nessel, both Democrats.

“I am shocked, saddened and horrified to learn of Sam’s brutal murder,” Nessel said in a statement. “Sam was as kind a person as I’ve ever known. She was driven by her sincere love of her community, state and country. Sam truly used her faith and activism to create a better place for everyone.”

No motive has yet been identified, but Jewish institutions have been under threat ever since the Palestinian terror group Hamas carried out a massive attack in Israel on October 7, murdering over 1,400 people.

The Detroit area is home to a large Arab population, and a large rally in support of Hamas was held in nearby Dearborn on Oct. 12.

2,000 Chareidim Ask to Join the IDF

IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says there have been increasing requests by ultra-Orthodox Israelis to join the military amid the war.

Hagari says the IDF has so far received more than 2,000 requests, and on Monday, they will begin to be drafted as volunteers.

Israel-Hamas war articles in New York Times are Written by an Avowed Nazi

Thde Nazi

A New York Times reporter who came under fire last year for a praising Adolf Hitler in multiple resurfaced Facebook posts was rehired by the Gray Lady to cover the Israel-Palestine war.

Palestinian filmmaker Soliman Hijjy hailed the Nazi leader as recently as 2018 in a post on Facebook, when he shared a photo of himself captioned that he was “in a state of harmony as Hitler was during the Holocaust,” per a translation from Arabic by pro-Israel media watchdog site HonestReporting.

That same year, Hijjy was hired by the Times as a freelance journalist and worked on a slew of “visual investigations” published by the organization through 2021, including one on an Israeli airstrike that killed 44 people.

Hijjy’s 2018 post — including a 2012 Facebook post where he wrote, “How great you are, Hitler” in Arabic alongside a photoshopped image of Hitler seemingly taking a selfie — were unearthed last year, when pro-Israel outlets called out the Times for hiring antisemitic journalists as freelancers.

At the time, Hijjy didn’t appear to be working for the Times anymore, and had since taken down his controversial pro-Hitler posts.

However, the Times rehired the antisemitic freelancer last week.

Hijjy’s byline has appeared in the publication nearly every day since Oct. 12, with his latest story from Gaza published on Thursday.

Hijjy wrote a piece titled, “At a hospital in southern Gaza, a backup generator becomes a critical lifeline,” about a facility two miles from the Ahli Arab hospital bombing by a Palestinian terrorist organization that falsely blamed Israel for the attack.

A Times spokesperson defended the outlet’s decision to rehire Hijjy.

“We reviewed problematic social media posts by Mr. Hijjy when they first came to light in 2022 and took a variety of actions to ensure he understood our concerns and could adhere to our standards if he wished to do freelance work for us in the future,” the rep said.

Once Israel denied any involvement, the Times swapped it out with one that said: “Hundreds Dead in Blast at Gaza Hospital, Palestinians Say.”

“Mr. Hijjy followed those steps and has maintained high journalistic standards. He has delivered important and impartial work at great personal risk in Gaza during this conflict.”

The Post has sought comment from Hijjy.

The Times had drawn scorn from media critics for running an initial headline about the hospital explosion that pointed the finger at the Jewish State: “Israeli Strike Kills Hundreds in Hospital, Palestinian Officials Say.”

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan slammed the Times for its decision to bring back Hijjy.

“The @nytimes has just rehired a NAZI. Let that sink in. Soliman Hijjy praises Hitler, and the NYT rehired him,” Erdan tweeted Friday.

Meanwhile, Times freelance photographer Hosam Salem was also accused last year of sharing antisemitic social media posts, though he shared last October that the outlet severed ties with him.

“After years of covering the Gaza Strip as a freelance photojournalist for the New York Times, I was informed via an abrupt phone call from the US outlet that they will no longer work with me in the future,” Salem shared on X, then known as Twitter, in October 2022.

Salem went on to blame an article by HonestReporting, which pointed to his pro-Palestine Facebook posts, as reason for his firing.

It’s unclear why the Times didn’t make similar moves to distance itself from Hijjy, whose pro-Hitler posts were included in the same HonestReporting story.
