Cuomo Supports Bill Authorizing Detention of Suspected COVID-19 Carriers

If the New York State Assembly passes Bill A416, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will be given the authority to order the removal and/or detention of any individual suspected of being a carrier of COVID-19, or any other contagious disease.

The bill would “amend the public health law in relation to the removal of cases, contacts and carriers of communicable diseases who are potentially dangerous to the public health.” It would also authorize fines of up to $1 million to penalize those who administer the vaccine to individuals who do not appear on the priority list.

At his daily coronavirus briefing in Albany on Monday, Cuomo did not directly respond to questions about Bill A416, which talks about arresting people suspected of being a carrier of COVID-19 and other contagious diseases. Instead, he redirected his response to the issue of fraud.

Cuomo said he believes individuals and institutions who misrepresent themselves in trying to obtain the vaccine, or in selling it to someone who should not have received it, should be prosecuted.

“Criminal law is intent. It’s not a mistake. It’s not that you were defrauded. It’s you were engaged knowingly in a criminal act. You sold the vaccine because you wanted to make money,” Cuomo said, adding there have already been cases where fraudulent clinics have obtained the vaccine and in fact, inoculated unwary New Yorkers.

“I am talking about criminal conduct. . . I’m talking about an affirmative fraud using this vaccine,” the governor said. “You’re gonna see fraud in this vaccine. You’re gonna see people selling this vaccine. It’s money. It’s valuable,” Cuomo underlined.

Cuomo told reporters about 300,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the state up to this point. However, he wants hospitals to administer the vaccines faster: “We want those vaccines in people’s arms,” he said.

Coronavirus figures in New York State are continuing to climb.

The governor reported Monday that total COVID-19 hospitalizations in the state have reached 8,251. Of the 134,360 coronavirus tests that were carried out on Saturday, 11,209 came back with positive diagnoses, resulting in an 8.34 percent contagion rate in the state. There were 1,344 patients in the state’s ICUs, and of those, 815 patients were being maintained on life support, with ventilators, and there were 170 deaths as well.

Shin Bet Releases Details from Interrogation of Esther Horgan’s Terrorist Animal

The Shin Bet in cooperation with the Israel Police (Samaria and Judea District), including the special anti-terror unit, and the IDF, in intelligence and operational activity, on December 24, 2020 detained for interrogation a suspect in the brutal, murderous terrorist attack on the late Esther Horgan perpetrated on December 20.

The suspect is Muhammad Cabha, 40, from the village of Tura al-Gharbiya, near Jenin, who has previously served sentences for terrorist activity.

Four additional suspects were arrested with him for assisting him in hiding from the security forces following the attack.

During his Shin Bet and Israel Police interrogation, it was learned that Cabha murdered Esther Horgan for nationalist motives; he also divulged additional details about the murder:

Approximately six weeks before the murder, the suspect decided to carry out a terrorist attack to avenge the death of a security prisoner he knew, Kamal Abu Awar, who died in of cancer prison while serving four life terms plus 50 years.

Cabha went to the area of the murder via a breach in the security fence in order to familiarize himself with it. After discerning scant traffic in the area and the passage of Israeli civilians, he decided that the place was suitable for carrying out the terrorist attack.

It was also learned that on December 20, 2020, in the afternoon, when the suspect was in the forest adjacent to Tal Menashe in order to engage in smuggling cigarettes through the fence, he identified a Jewish woman walking alone, and attacked and murdered her.

In the days following the attack, the suspect was aided by his relatives, as well as acquaintances in the village of Dayr al-Ghusun, in hiding from the security forces.

The investigation of the suspect is ongoing; upon its conclusion it is anticipated that he will be tried in the Samaria Military Court.

"Green passports" will be a means to manage daily life'

Passports to be required for entrance to large number of public venues in Israel, even though there's no proof vaccine confers immunity.

Despite repeated assurances that the coronavirus vaccine will not be made compulsory, the government is gradually extending the limits of its “positive incentives” system for promoting vaccination to the general public, and yesterday disclosed further ways in which those people who comply with official advice will benefit.

“To achieve herd immunity in the State of Israel, we’re talking about 70 percent [of the population] vaccinated. The green passport is a means that we want to use to manage daily life as the number of people who have recovered from the virus increases,” Professor Nachman Ash, the government’s coronavirus project manager told the Knesset’s Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee.

Ministry officials later expanded further on what they had in mind, telling MKs that the passport would likely be required for entrance to cultural and sports events, museums, hotels, restaurants and cafes, malls, gyms, and swimming pools. However, it would not be required for entrance to schools, workplaces, synagogues, street stores; or for using public transportation.

5 Year-old Jewish Child Killed, One Seriously Hurt By Van Who Just Dropped Them Off To Yeshiva Ketana of Bensonhurst

The driver returned to the scene after being contacted.

 A five year old Jewish child was killed, and another one was seriously injured in an apparent tragic accident by the the van driver who had just dropped them off in front of School.

The incident happened in front of Yeshiva Ketana of Bensonhurst at 2025 67th St. at around 9 a.m.

Both children were taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where one of them was pronounced dead. The other one has been listed in critical condition.

The driver left the scene in a minivan, before eventually returning. According to reports, the vehicle that hit them was the vehicle that had dropped them off, with the driver unaware of what had occurred.

The driver returned to the scene after being contacted.

Israel’s Gedolei Yisrael: “Return To Davening Outside”

 

HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky and HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein instructed the public on Monday to strictly adhere to health regulations in light of the alarming rise in coronavirus cases in recent days.

In a letter published on Monday, the Gedolei Yisrael wrote: “Due to the increase in coronavirus infections and in order to prevent risk and illness and prevent the cancellation of Talmudei Torah and Tefillah B’Tzibur, everyone should be extremely stringent on adhering to health regulations.”

The letter continued with the following instructions:

A. Those who are older or at-risk and everyone that is able to should be makpid not to stay in enclosed places and should even make efforts to daven in courtyards or other open areas.

B. Everyone should be fully stringent about not participating in risky gatherings at simchas or other events. Simchas should be held with the required social distancing and without crowds.

C. Anyone who even suspects that he may be sick should be mapkid not to come to public areas, including heichalei HaTorah, shuls and educational institutions.

D. Anyone who can get vaccinated should do so with the tefillah that the effort will serve as a refuah and histadlus.

Democrats Attempt To Erase The Words ‘He,’ ‘She,’ ‘Mother,’ And ‘Father’ From The House

 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is attempting to excise all references to either sex in House business to “honor all gender identities” and “promote inclusion and diversity.” On Monday, the House of Representatives is set to vote on a Rules Package for the 117th Congress, which Pelosi and Rules Committee Chairman James McGovern promise will be “the most inclusive in history.”

Congress is following in the illustrious example of companies like Twitter and educational institutions such as the University of Michigan in removing language that recognizes the two sexes from their work product and interpersonal communications.

This would mean replacing any instance of “he or she” with the grammatically incorrect colloquialism of “they” as a singular, or the unnecessarily long “such Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner.” Further, “himself” or “herself” becomes “themself,” a word not recognized by several dictionaries, and acknowledged by the New Oxford Dictionary as “not widely accepted in standard English.”

Meshiginar "Am Haaretz" Democrat Pastor Ends Congressional Prayer With ‘Amen And A-Woman’

House Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri ended the opening prayer for the 117th Congress Sunday with “amen and a-woman,” in an apparent effort to be gender- and deity-inclusive while omitting “aperson.”

The term “amen” is not even a reference to the two sexes, however, as Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Guy Reschenthaler pointed out on Twitter along with a clip of the pointless passive-progressive virtue signaling.

Cleaver, an ordained United Methodist pastor who appears clueless about basic biblical knowledge such as the meaning of the Hebrew word “amen,” offered the House prayer as Democrats in the lower chamber have prioritizedremoving references to the two sexes in House business in an effort to “promote inclusion and diversity.”
