Mom with Coronavirus Saved by Medical-student Son’s Quick Thinking

A Brooklyn woman desperately ill with the coronavirus is breathing easy this Mother’s Day thanks to a novel treatment her medical-student son helped provide.

Josephine Bruzzese, who is 48 and otherwise healthy, woke up on March 22 with a fever, body aches, dry cough and trouble breathing. She lost the ability to smell or taste. Her family rushed her to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in Sunset Park.

“She was so short of breath she couldn’t speak” said her 23-year-old son, James.

The hospital diagnosed the mom of four with pneumonia, but with no coronavirus tests available, it sent her home as a suspected COVID-19 case.

Some symptoms improved when Bruzzese, who works in banking, was given the antibiotic azithromycin and the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine — but she still couldn’t breathe.

“We were very worried because she couldn’t stand up without almost passing out from shortness of breath,” her son said. “Her respiratory symptoms were very severe.”

James, who lives with his parents and three siblings in Bath Beach, is in his second year at the CUNY School of Medicine in a special program that combines a bachelor’s and medical degrees.

No Deaths from Coronavirus in Israel this Shabbat

No coronavirus patient died in Israel this Shabbat, with only 8 new diagnosed cases. 84 patients were declared recovered from the pandemic. 65 patients are still hooked up to ventilators, with 2 additions on Shabbos.

Health Ministry Deputy Director General Professor Itamar Grotto told Reshet Bet radio on Saturday that the data accumulated since opening the closure are very encouraging, the result of proper public behavior and the warming weather. Grotto estimates that in two weeks, gatherings of 100 people would be permitted in Israel’s public spaces, and in another month and a half, all restrictions of gathering would be lifted.

The Deputy Director General also said that flights outside Israel would first be resumed to countries in the Mediterranean basin and countries with similar low numbers of the spread of the virus. He said flights to the United States would be back at a very late date, due to the high spread rates there.

Saturday saw 11,387 new cases of the coronavirus in the US, bringing the overall number of cases there to 1,333,172. A total of 624 patients died this Saturday, bringing the total number of deaths in the US to about 80,000. 164 people died in New York, 131 in New Jersey, 59 in Pennsylvania, 54 in Maryland, 47 in Florida, 40 in Louisiana.

There are now more than 4 million cases around the planet, with 278,467 deaths and 1,415,396 recoveries.

The worst hit countries after the United States are the UK (31,587 dead), Italy (30,395), Spain (26,478), and France (26,230).

Obama Responsible for ‘worst corruption scandal in American history’

President of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton told Breitbart News that General Michael Flynn only got justice because he had lawyers who “insisted upon it” and pushed back “against the entire political class” in Washington, D.C. 

“This FBI, this Justice Department, they would’ve sent Flynn to jail,” said Fitton. “Flynn only got justice because he had a lawyer who insisted upon it.”

Fitton  mentioned that former president Barack Obama should be questioned.

Someone should ask him a question about it. I mean, the media has completely protected this man, and he orchestrated, and was behind, and is ultimately responsible for the worst corruption scandal in American history. He makes Richard Nixon look like a piker.

He not only authorized — and obviously approved — unprecedented spying on the candidate that was seeking to succeed him from the opposite Party. But then after the president was elected, he rushed out and targeted this president with this all hands on deck effort to smear him on this Russia collusion crap, and then continued — in my view — in a seditious way to try to undermine and destroy his presidency on his way out the door.

The Term 'Chinese virus' Now Considered "hate speech" in San Antonio Texas

I laughed so hard reading this that I had to cry ....just when I thought the leftists are crazy , a story comes along that makes them even crazier ...

Now in San Antonio if you call a virus that came from China .."Chinese virus" you can actually be locked up, while real murderers and rapists in the same city go free! 

Really guys ... it's time to come home ..

The term Chinese virus has been labelled hate speech by San Antonio's city council.

Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who put forward the now-passed resolution, blamed the use of the terms Chinese virus and Kung Fu virus for a rise in hate speech during the course of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Texas city will now ask its citizens to 'report any such antisemitic, discriminatory or racist incidents to the proper authorities for investigation', according to San Antonio's WOAI-TV.

US senator Ted Cruz blasted the decision as 'nuts'. He added that the council were acting like 'a lefty college faculty lounge'.

'If they want to investigate someone, start with NYT & CNN who both repeatedly (and rightly) referred to it as 'the Chinese coronavirus.'  

It comes after US president Donald Trump sparked criticism by referring to Covid-19 as the Chinese virus. Trump responded to complaints by saying he just meant the term geographically and would stop if it bothered Asian-Americans.

'It's not racist at all,' Trump said during one press conference after a reporter asked why he kept using the term. He added: 'It comes from China, that's why.' 

Explaining the decision, Mayor Nirenberg revealed 'there has been a rise in hate speech throughout the course of this pandemic'.

He said: 'Our efforts must meet the indiscriminate nature of COVID-19 with empathy and compassion for all our neighbors.'  

City councilors voted 11-0 in favor of the resolution.

The U.S. Justice Department on Thursday abruptly asked a judge to drop criminal charges against Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn following mounting pressure.

The move drew furious criticism from congressional Democrats and others who accused the department and Attorney General William Barr of politicizing the U.S. criminal justice system by bending to Trump's wishes and improperly protecting his friends and associates in criminal cases.

Flynn, a retired Army lieutenant general who served as an adviser to Trump during the 2016 campaign, had been seeking to withdraw his 2017 guilty plea in which he admitted to lying to the FBI about his interactions with Russia's U.S. ambassador Sergey Kislyak in the weeks before Trump took office, after being threatened that they will go after his son.

FBI ..... "Israelis Are ‘All F***ing Spies,’ ‘Execute Them All’

A declassified transcript published on Tuesday revealed a “confidential human source” (CHS) from the FBI deriding Israelis as “fucking spies” and “fucking cocksuckers” who should be “executed” while surreptitiously surveilling George Papadopoulos two weeks after the 2016 presidential election.

The 206-page transcript captured conversation between Papadopoulos and an unidentified CHS, seemingly across one continuous episode on November 26, 2016. Papadopoulos worked as an assistant on President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign

In an attached cover letter addressed to Sens. Richard Burr (R-NC), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Lindsey Graham, (R-SC), and Mark Warner (D-VA), Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd credits Attorney General William Barr with making the determination to declassify the transcript.

Papadopoulos is code-named “Crossfire Typhoon” (CT) throughout the transcript and referred to as such by an unidentified FBI agent at the beginning of the transcribed recording.

The CHS is quoted as saying, “No fucking Russians here that aren’t fucking…same with the Israelis they’re all fucking spies. Those fucking cocksuckers. They should execute them all.”

“I can smell an Israeli from a mile away, dude,” said the CHS in another moment. “I can tell you who is fucking Israeli.”

The CHS joked about being extradited to Israel. “Yeah I’m-I’m saying you probably fucking…you’re probably working out a deal with them [Mossad] motherfuckers on me [to] be fucking extradited to Israel.”

When Papadopoulos said he dated an Israeli girl, the CHS disparaged Russian Jews as “fake Jews.”

Judge Freier responds to Netflix's 'Unorthodox' ....

Judge Ruchie (Rachel) Freier from Brooklyn New York is a Kings County Civil Court Judge, a volunteer paramedic and director of Ezras Nashim, the all women’s Basic Life Support First Response Agency.

Freier joined a special video online discussion and related to the Netflix "Unorthodox" mini-series, which brings the story of a Hasidic young woman from New York who decides to leave her family, home and way of life.

Judge Freier wrote about the series in an op-ed in the Satmar "Vos Is Neias" website.

"A good friend from the broader Jewish community who saw the movie called me and asked “Are all Hasidic marriages arranged and begin loveless?” Frieier writes, "This propelled me to watch it and determine its accuracy".

Freier noted that the production is fiction, but is based on a memoir written by Deborah Feldman with the same name.

"Perhaps it reflects the experience of one woman", Freier wrote, "and in doing so unwittingly or intentionally depicts Hasidic men as either naïve or shysters and women as subjugated, unloved, uneducated, unhappy and without opportunity".

Barry Farber Beloved Radio Host Dies at 90

Barry Farber, the beloved radio host , died this evening, at 6:25 pm.

His daughter Celia Ingrid Farber tweeted the following:

"He was home, in bed, and we were all with him. He turned 90 just yesterday. He told me recently that his concept of death was "going somewhere I've never been before, like Finland or Estonia." May God rest his soul."

Barry M. Farber was an American conservative radio talk show host, author, commentator and language-learning enthusiast. In 2002, industry publication Talkers magazine ranked him the 9th greatest radio talk show host of all time. He has also written articles appearing in The New York Times, Reader's Digest, The Washington Post, and the Saturday Review. He is the father of journalist Celia Farber and singer-songwriter Bibi Farber.
