Avi Schnall the Spineless Lakewood Ass'embly"man" Votes to Restrict ICE from Going After Criminals

This Lakewood Puppet voted against the interests of Lakewood security! Who instructed him and who encouraged him? How much $$$$$$$$$$$ did Murphy promise the "moisdois?"  I am confident that the truth will soon come out!

Trenton, NJ — Lakewood Assemblyman Avi Schnall, who represents the district that includes Lakewood, voted YES on Bill A6310, one of a trio of highly controversial “pro-immigrant” bills sent to Governor Phil Murphy that would sharply restrict cooperation between New Jersey law enforcement and federal immigration authorities, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Additionally Schnall  voted Yes on BILL 3195 that prohibits the use of single use plastic in restaurants (condiments, plates, forks etc)

Critics say the legislation weakens public safety by tying the hands of state and local police and deliberately blocking information-sharing with federal authorities. Republicans and law enforcement advocates argue that under A6310, undocumented immigrants with criminal histories could more easily avoid detection, arrest, or deportation—leaving dangerous individuals on the streets.

Opponents warn that the bill elevates political ideology over common-sense policing, creating what they describe as a “sanctuary-style shield” that benefits lawbreakers at the expense of law-abiding residents. They also argue the measure undermines cooperation between agencies that is critical for tracking repeat offenders and individuals wanted for serious crimes.

Assemblyman Sean Kean voted NO, stating that limiting cooperation with ICE sends the wrong message and risks turning New Jersey into a safe haven for criminals who should be removed from the country.

Supporters claim the bill is about building trust with immigrant communities, but critics counter that trust should not come at the cost of public safety. With Governor Murphy expected to sign the package, opponents say New Jersey is moving further down a dangerous path—one that prioritizes protecting undocumented immigrants over protecting residents, neighborhoods, and police officers on the front lines, including families in Lakewood.
