“I don’t speak because I have the power to speak; I speak because I don’t have the power to remain silent.” Rav Kook z"l

The "Fatwa" against Musical Selichos by Gedoilei Yisrael in the US and Israel was totally ignored!

The gemarrah in Avoda Zara (36) states:

אין גוזרין גזרה על הציבור אלא אם כן רוב הציבור יכולין לעמוד בה

This gemarra is also in Bava Basra (70b) ,

The rabbis will never ever change this so why issue Fatwa after Fatwa? Why are they busy with this? They should appreciate that after 2,000 year there are Jews staying up at midnight to run to Selichos. They should be busy trying to figure out why tens of thousands are leaving their communities and going OTD, instead these "Kalteh Litvacks and Yekkes) are bothered because there are Jews out there that find their inspiration and closeness to HKB"H with music and singing!

So?  if it sounds like a concert? They never issued a ban against going to listen to Helfgott or Saal and that is 100% a concert and most people are just there to listen, very few come to daven and this is coming from a Chazzan, who did this over 50 years and made a parnassa from that!

I think the fact that nothing changed after this Fatwa, the Gedoilim caused a huge Chillul Hashem as no one listened to them, in fact the crowds were bigger than ever.

Yeah, Kalteh Litvaks & Yekkes. Who exactly are the “everyone” ignoring the alter takonna from Chasam Sofer, etc? Those are a bunch of Moderner & Tuna Beigelach in your silly videos, not the oylam Hatorah. Who do you think you’re fooling?

Whenever anyone shouts into a crowd "DON'T LOOK AT THE BIG BLUE ELEPHANT," everyone will start looking for a big blue elephant.

A century ago the style was that chazzonim at Selichos would go all out in order to find a shul that would hire them for the Yamim Noraim. Selichos was a job interview. No one complains.
For me the guitar and dancing is too much so nu, I just won't go to that one.
