Half of Hezbollah’s 150,000 Rockets Are 1963 Soviet Grads.
Since the end of the Second Lebanon War in 2006, Hezbollah has been collecting rockets of almost every type that Iran was able to produce or obtain, and Iranian money could buy.
More than half of the rocket arsenal in southern Lebanon––an estimated 75,000 rockets––consists of Soviet Grad 122 mm multiple rocket launchers with an effective range of up to 32 miles. A Grad launcher typically has 40 barrels which must be reloaded after each volley.
To quote the Kaveret band’s popular 1970s, this is where the dog is buried. Also, when you look into the abyss, the abyss looks at you.
Each time a volley of 40 Grads is released, its launcher and the nice terrorists schlepping the next load of rockets are exposed to Israeli drones that are hovering above south Lebanon and are capable of firing a devastating rocket to take out the whole thing. As in the video below, released last week by the IDF:
No one knows how many Grad launchers have been dispersed around south Lebanon, but the Grads are notoriously inaccurate. They are not intended to cause harm as to intimidate and spread fear. To that end, they must be fired in large, coordinated batches. Guess what: this can no longer be done. Not until Hezbollah finds a communication method that won’t be tapped by Israeli intelligence.
As a result, those 75,000 Grads will be fired sporadically and land mostly in open fields. It’s still not fun being blasted for a few days by the latest Soviet military technology of 1963, but expect low casualties on the Israeli side, God willing.
The next level is heavy rockets: the Iranian-made Fajer 5, which Hamas and the Islamic Jihad used to launch 175 kg warheads from Gaza. It has a range of up to 47 miles and is fired from a vehicle with four barrels. Once the four rockets have been launched, reloading is a lengthy process, and the drones should have little problem dispensing with the launcher and its crew.
In addition, Hezbollah operates Khaibar-1 launchers with a range of 100 km, firing 302 mm rockets with a 150 kg payload. It is launched from an apparatus designed by the Syrians, with six firing tubes.
Then there are the Iranian-made Zelzal-1, with an estimated range of 93 miles, Zelzal-2, with a 130-mile range, and Zelzal-3, with a 120-mile range. They are mounted on a single launcher and carry a 600 kg warhead.
At the top of Hezbollah’s rocket heap is the Fateh-110, which is a GPS-guided version of the Zelzal 2 rocket. It carries a 500 kg warhead.
Israel has found a way of neutralizing the GPS feature: it hampers the country’s GPS networks. This is the reason why motorists who go past Haifa must resort to good, old-fashioned maps because their Waze tells them they’re in Beirut International Airport, or in Amman International Airport, as the satellite signal hops to the nearest working GPS system.
Again, the bigger the rocket, the fewer the barrels of the launch pad or rack, and Hezbollah would have to deploy more launchers to fire a significant volley. Hezbollah knows that the IDF can pinpoint any launch the moment it is fired, and plant a bomb, a missile, or a shell there. This pushes Hezbollah’s crews into an extreme race to use it or lose it, and the more they fire, the fewer launchers they will have.
The Arizona Supreme Court ruled on Friday that nearly 100,000 residents can receive full ballots without citizenship proof, swiftly resolving a clerical blunder that questioned whether they could cast votes in elections this November.
The Friday ruling came just days after election officials said they found that roughly 98,000 state residents were registered to vote in local and state elections, but had not provided the proof of citizenship necessary to participate.
The Maricopa County Recorder’s office noticed a computing error that marked these residents eligible to cast votes in Arizona’s state, local and federal elections, without ever presenting citizenship documents.
The state’s highest court ruling presented a win for Democratic Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and the Grand Canyon State’s liberal-leaning groups on Friday.
“Today marks a significant victory for those whose fundamental right to vote was under scrutiny,” Fontes said in a statement. “The court faced a stark choice: to allow voters to participate in just a few federal races on a limited ballot, or to make their voices heard across hundreds of decisions on a full ballot that includes a variety of local and state offices.”
“We deeply appreciate the Arizona Supreme Court for their prompt and just resolution,” he continued.
The court ruled on whether these Arizonans would receive a “federal-only” ballot or the full ballot, which encompasses state and local races. The state utilizes separate ballots since Arizona requires prospective voters to provide citizenship proof before they can cast voters in local and state elections. That requirement does not apply to ballots for federal office.
“Regardless, we are unwilling on these facts to disenfranchise voters en masse from participating in state contests. Doing so is not authorized by state law and would violate principles of due process,” the court’s Chief Justice Ann A. Scott Timmer wrote in the ruling.
Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, who filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, welcomed the court’s decision despite his office arguing that residents could only vote in elections for federal office due to the initial error.
“Thank God,” he said in a Friday night post on X. “Thank you Arizona Supreme Court for your extremely quick and professional review of this matter.”
Will a new moon soon join the moon we are used to seeing in the sky? A recent discovery of the ATLAS system reveals that from next week another moon will start orbiting earth.
The system, which consists of four telescopes that scan earth, was created by NASA and is designed to identify and warn of bodies that may be approaching earth.
The asteroid, detected this week by the ATLAS system, will orbit earth in the near future and has been nicknamed PT5 2024. The "mini-moon", only ten meters in size, will orbit earth from September 29 for two months, until it leaves and will continue its course towards the sun.
Surprisingly, the arrival of "new moons" to earth is not a rare occurrence, and in recent years there have been a number of mini-moons orbiting earth. Much interest surrounding the mini-moons stems from the many resources they may have on them, as many small asteroids contain precious metals, which makes them especially attractive when they approach earth.
Although it seems like science fiction today, companies such as AstroForge plan to start mining minerals from space that are rare on earth, but abundant in asteroids around it.
“Eliana” is an 18-year-old resident of northern Israel born to a mother who made Aliyah from West Bloomfield, Michigan.
She has never lived in the United States or expressed any interest in politics, but she could decide one of America’s most fateful elections ever and prevent Israel from great danger.
It is not too late for “Eliana” and others like her to get the ballots that could ensure that Donald Trump returns to the White House and Kamala Harris will never get there. But they must take immediate action.
The good news trickled out quietly, and despite the huge significance, is not getting the attention it deserves.
The White House now believes it won’t get a cease-fire deal in Gaza before Joe Biden leaves office.
“No deal is imminent,” a US official told The Wall Street Journal.
“I’m not sure it ever gets done.”
Hold the tears — cue the celebrations.
No deal is the best deal available.
Israel and the entire civilized world are saved from the awful consequences of an American bid to appease evil in the name of peace.
And politics.
For months, Biden and Kamala Harris have tried to force Israel to accept fatally flawed terms with Hamas in Gaza and, by extension, Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The Democrats are motivated by fear that anti-Israel voters in the upper Midwest, especially Muslim Americans in Michigan, will abandon the party.
The result has been a relentless pressure campaign against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, complete with attempts to undermine him politically at home and hamper Israel’s military by withholding munitions.
Recall that Secretary of State Antony Blinken sat in on cabinet meetings to dictate which targets Israel could attack.
The disgraceful effort, which included following the same playbook as anti-Israel mobs at the United Nations, prolonged the war and gave Hamas incentives to hold out for better deals.
Israeli forces have killed the two terrorists believed to be responsible for the recent murder of six hostages in a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip. The hostages – Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Ori Danino, Alex Lobanov, Carmel Gat, and Almog Sarusi – were killed in the tunnel before the terrorists were now located and neutralized.
In a press conference, Hagari detailed the operation, explaining that Israeli forces from the 162nd Division encountered the terrorists a day after the murders. “A day after the murder of the hostages, forces with the 162nd Division identified two terrorists emerging from a nearby tunnel in the Tel Sultan area, and killed them in an exchange of fire,” Hagari said.
Following the clash, Israeli forces conducted a thorough investigation of the tunnel and the equipment found with the terrorists. “After we investigated the findings from the tunnel and equipment from the terrorists, we found DNA and several items that belonged to the terrorists that we killed,” Hagari confirmed.
Hagari also said that evidence indicates the two terrorists were present in the tunnel at the time of the murders. “We are checking their involvement in the murder,” he added, saying that the investigation is ongoing to confirm their direct role in the killings.

First LadyJill Bidenhas sparked outrage after she spoke at the firstWhite Housecabinet meeting in a year.
President Joe Biden convened his Cabinet on Friday for the first time since last October and was joined by the First Lady who spoke about women's health research.
In explaining her presence at the session, Biden said: 'First Ladies have attended these meetings in the past for specific reasons.
'This is the first time Jill has joined us, and it underscores the importance of the issue she's about to address', before handing over to her he added; 'It's all yours, kid'.
According to The New York Post, Biden spent much of his two minute intro talking about the first lady, who went on to speak for four and half minutes.
The outlet drew a comparison between the First Lady and Edith Wilson, who kept tight control over President Woodrow Wilson after he suffered a stroke.
This comparison was referenced online by Greg Price, who added: 'She's literally Edith Wilson except right out in the open in a 24/7 news cycle and nobody in the media cares.'
Political commentator also posted about the First Lady kicking off the meeting, posting: 'Jill Biden is kicking off the first cabinet meeting the White House has had in almost a year and we’re expected to act like this is normal.'
Steve Cortes, a previous adviser to former President Donald Trump, described Biden as looking 'visibly exhausted'.
This week, in a scene one would expect from a Hollywood thriller, thousands of pagers and walkie talkies exploded across Lebanon and the Middle East, killing, maiming, or severely injuring thousands of Hezbollah terrorists.
Although the attacks were immediately attributed to Israel, the Jewish state has so far not claimed responsibility. In the event that Israel did carry out the operation, it could only be understood as the most audacious and unprecedented counter-terrorism precision attack in military history, and one that was entirely justified and in full accordance with international law.
The attack not only disrupted Hezbollah's terrorist capabilities and infrastructure; it re-established Israeli deterrence and leveled psychological trauma on the entire terror organization, from its leader Hassan Nasrallah, to the most junior of Hezbollah foot soldiers, who now know that no-one is safe, and every terrorist can be reached at any time.
Lest you be swayed by the false and malicious narratives of those trying to defend Hezbollah or blame the Jewish state, some necessary context is in order.
First, Hezbollah is a Lebanese-based jihadist terrorist organization and a standing army that is funded, supplied by, and serves entirely at the behest of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Like Hamas, Hezbollah also has genocidal intentions to annihilate Israel and kill all the Jews, intentions which they have made repeatedly clear and have continuously sought to act on. Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has said that that the entire Middle East will not rest until the "cancerous gland" that is Israel is removed, and on October 8 last year, a day after the Hamas massacre, Hezbollah formally joined the war in the wistful hope that they might help eradicate the Jewish state.

Throughout World War II, Kulle had not only been a member of the Nazi’s Waffen-SS, but had worked at Gross-Rosen concentration camp where 40,000 Jews died.
Kulle was one of around 10,000 Nazis who entered the US after the war and, like others, blended into his community, his neighbors oblivious to his past.
Born in 1921, Kulle was a member of the Hitler Youth before volunteering for the combat wing of the Waffen-SS in 1940.
“Other boys in the Hitler Youth were wary of joining the SS, alarmed at the prospect of committing atrocities,” writes Soffer.
“Kulle was undeterred.”
Having joined the army, Kulle was injured fighting the Russians and was transferred to Gross-Rosen in his native Silesia, excusing him from frontline action.
