First Lady Melania Trump awarded conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh the President Medal of Freedom on behalf of President Donald Trump at the State of the Union address Tuesday evening.

"Almost every American family knows the pain when a loved one is diagnosed with a serious illness. Here tonight is a special man, someone beloved by millions of Americans who just received a Stage 4 advanced cancer diagnosis. This is not good news, but what is good news is that he is the greatest fighter and winner that you will ever meet," President Trump said to the broadcaster.

"Rush, in recognition of all that you have done for our nation, the millions of people a day that you speak to and you inspire and all of the incredible work that you have done for charity, I am proud to announce tonight that you will be receiving our country's highest civilian honor: 

The Presidential Medal of Freedom," Trump said Tuesday night.

GALLOP: Trump Job Approval at Personal Best 49%.... Trumps Obama

 

President Donald Trump's job approval rating has risen to 49%, his highest in Gallup polling since he took office in 2017.

The new poll finds 50% of Americans disapproving of Trump, leaving just 1% expressing no opinion. The average percentage not having an opinion on Trump has been 5% throughout his presidency.

Trump's approval rating has risen because of higher ratings among both Republicans and independents. His 94% approval rating among Republicans is up six percentage points from early January and is three points higher than his previous best among his fellow partisans. The 42% approval rating among independents is up five points, and ties three other polls as his best among that group. Democratic approval is 7%, down slightly from 10%.

The 87-point gap between Republican and Democratic approval in the current poll is the largest Gallup has measured in any Gallup poll to date, surpassing the prior record, held by Trump and Barack Obama, by one point.

The Jan. 16-29 poll was conducted in the midst of the Senate impeachment trial that will likely result in the president's acquittal. The poll finds 52% of Americans in favor of acquitting Trump and 46% in favor of convicting and removing him from office.

The US Yisrael Beytenu Cuts Ties With Liberman Over His Anti- Chareidie Stance

The American partner of "Yisrael Beytenu" has decided to disengage from "World Yisrael Beytenu" following the Israeli party's blatant campaign in the last election on issues of religion and state, according to Tzvika Klein of Makor Rishon.

The American Forum for Israel, AFI, is made up mainly of Russian-speaking American Jews who have worked with Yisrael Beytenu in the past.

Among other things, the American representative of the Israeli party was outraged by MK Alex Kushnir's video against granting aid to religious women who keep Jewish family purity laws.

World Yisrael Beytenu confirmed that the two organizations had parted ways until further notice. AFI made no reference to their decision and merely stated in response "We are committed to Torah values. We proudly support Orthodox Jewish synagogues and communities throughout the United States."

The European Union (EU) will not support implementation of US President Donald Trump's "deal of the century" peace plan, EU High Representative and Vice-President Josep Borrell said in a Tuesday statement.

In the statement, Borrell said:

 "The European Union is fully committed to the transatlantic partnership and values all efforts to help find a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The EU recalls its commitment to a negotiated two-State solution, based on 1967 lines, with equivalent land swaps, as may be agreed between the parties, with the State of Israel and an independent, democratic, contiguous, sovereign and viable State of Palestine, living side by side in peace, security and mutual recognition – as set out in the Council Conclusions of July 2014."

"The US initiative, as presented on 28 January, departs from these internationally agreed parameters."

"Trump Will Sell Alaska To Russia If We Don’t Impeach Him" Schiff on the Senate Floor

Lead House Impeachment Manager Congressman Adam Schiff of California claimed during closing arguments in the Senate impeachment trial Monday that President Donald Trump will sell a U.S. state to the Russian government if not removed from office.

If “abuse of power” was not impeachable, Schiff argued, “then a whole range of utterly unacceptable conduct in a president would now be beyond reach.”

“Trump could offer Alaska to the Russians in exchange for support in the next election, or decide to move to Mar-A-Lago permanently and leave Jared Kushner to run the country, delegating to him the decision whether they go to war.”

Schiff’s fearmongering of consequences conceived in pure fantasy come as the impeachment case against Trump officially collapsed on Friday after the Senate declined to hear new witnesses testify at the trial.

A vote on the president’s acquittal is now expected to come on Wednesday, exonerating the president of the three-and-a-half year impeachment effort launched by the Democrats even before Trump took office in 2017.

Rav Mayer Reuven Berkovits .. Rav of "Whispering Pines" in Lakewood Passes Away

It is with great sadness that we that we must  report the passing of Rav Mayer Reuven Berkovits zt”l, rov of the Whispering Pines-Nusach Sefard shul in Lakewood, NJ

Rav Berkovits had battled illness for the last while and his kehillah had been holding regular asifos tefillah in his zechus. He passed away this morning.

A talmid chochom of note, Rav Berkovits was a beloved figure in Lakewood, spending his days immersed in limud haTorah and guiding his mispallelim and others.

A talmid of Satmar, Rav Berkovits learned for many years at Bais Medrash Govoah and went on to become a respected rov and morah horaah.

Rav Berkovits carried himself with tremendous hachna’ah and humility, and he endeared himself to one and all.

Rav Berkovits is survived by his dedicated wife, Rebbetzin Pearl Berkovits, and their wonderful family.

The levayah will be held today at noon at the Whispering Pines Shul, located at 47 Whispering Pines Lane in Lakewood, NJ. The aron will then be taken to Monroe, New York for kevurah in Kiryas Yoel.

Mark Zuckerberg Facebook CEO Tells Tech Conference he Has ‘become more religious’

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told a live audience at a tech conference that he has “become more religious” in recent years.

Zuckerberg was interviewed Friday evening at the Silicon Slopes Tech Summit.

“The last few years have been really humbling for me,” Zuckerberg said. “I’ve become more religious.”

He attributed his religious evolution to the issues his company has faced over the last few years and the birth of his two daughters, now ages four and two, Deseret News reported.

Rush Limbaugh Diagnosed With Advanced Lung Cancer

Iconic Conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh announced on his Monday radio program that he has been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. He says he will not be on the air for some days due to treatment.

“This day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory, for me, because I’ve known this moment was coming,” Limbaugh said. “I’m sure that you all know by now that I really don’t like talking about myself and I don’t like making things about me… one thing that I know, that has happened over the 31-plus years of this program is that there has been an incredible bond that had developed between all of you and me.”

“So, I have to tell you something today that I wish I didn’t have to tell you. It’s a struggle for me, because I had to inform my staff earlier today,” he said. “I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with. The upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.”

“(I plan to) do this show as normally and as competently and as expertly as I do each and every day because that is the source of my greatest satisfaction professionally,” Limbaugh said. “(and) personally.”

Shlomo Pinchas Ritterman Dies Suddenly at 58

R’ Shlomie Pinchas Ritterman Z”L of North Miami Beach, Florida (previously of Flatbush) was 58.

R’ Shloime was on a flight with his wife at Forth Lauderdale Airport, when he suffered a massive heart attack. He was rushed to the the closest hospital (Broward Hospital) where he was R”L Niftar.

The R' Shlomo Grew up in Flatbush on East 3rd Street near Avenue M, and lived on East 10 between Avenue’s N-O before moving to North Miami Beach.

He was one of the original members of Flatbush Shomrim, and was a member of the Chevra Kaddisha in Flatbush.

He leaves behind his wife Mrs. Leah Dini and children Chesky, Moshe, Eli, Tzvi and Gitti.

Chesed Shel Emes was instrumental in ensuring proper Kavod Hames and a timely Levaya.

The Levaya was held on Sunday night at 9:15PM at Congregation Torah V’Emunah, 1000 NE 175th Street, Miami, Florida 33162

WhatsApp no longer supported on millions of phones

WhatsApp will no longer be supported on millions of older iPhones and Android devices starting Saturday, the Facebook-owned messaging app said in a blog post.

WhatsApp will be supported — or receive updates — on Android devices running operating system 4.0.3 or newer systems, iPhones running iOS 9 or newer and select phones running KaiOS 2.5.1 or newer, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2, the app said in its FAQ post.

"Because we no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time," the post states.

The Bible Predicted Today's Worldwide Coronavirus Outbreak

The coronavirus outbreak currently spreading all over the world originated in China and many are looking for answers to how this virus originated and spread so rapidly, already killing dozens of people.

According to one controversial biblical scholar,  Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson, the global pandemic may have been foretold thousands of years ago in the Bible.

Glazerson made a video earlier this month in which he lays out his thesis that the coronavirus can be found in the Torah if one uses Bible codes, a concept that first became popularized in 1997 after a reporter published a book called "The Bible Code." Its controversial thesis was that secret codes hidden in the Torah can predict major events that have and will take place thousands of years after the Torah was written. 

Pointing out numerous news stories that point to the coronavirus outbreak originating from China's markets – which were reported to have included everything from rats, snakes, bats, fish and still living wolf pups – Glazerson explained an excerpt from the Book of Leviticus that spoke about the importance of not eating impure food.

Donald Trump takes out another terrorist leader

The United States carried out an airstrike in January that killed a leader of Al Qaeda's affiliate in Yemen after months of tracking him, according to current and former government officials. 

Qassim al-Rimi, 41, was killed in the January strike but officials had been waiting to confirm the information before making public statement, the New York Times reports. 

The Yemen branch, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, has been keen to attack the U.S. and Europe. Confirmation of al-Rimi's death would mean a significant blow for the group.
