Mazal Tov! Rav Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld's Grandchild, Enlists in the IDF!

 MEET AN UNKNOWN ISRAELI HERO

His name is Motti. He is 70-years-old.
He is the grandson of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, leader of the Haredi community during the British Mandate of Palestine.

He studied in top, mainstream Haredi yeshivas.

Motti is a successful businessman.

And now he is…an IDF soldier.
That’s right.
He recently enlisted in the IDF saying:

“My father fought in the War of Independence. My son is a combat soldier. I always felt like something was missing. I think the IDF uniform is holy clothing. It’s a symbol of unity and this is the most important thing that the nation of Israel needs today.”
Wishing Motti great success in his service.

Macron’s Beaufort Blunder Reveals European Decline

French President Emmanuel Macron declared on May 29, 2026, that “nothing justifies the Israeli strikes conducted in southern Lebanon.” He called Israel’s operations unacceptable under international law. Forty-eight hours later, the Israel Defense Forces seized Beaufort Castle and the 14.5-kilometer Beaufort Ridge. The sequence did not expose Israeli recklessness. It exposed Europe’s strategic decay.

Beaufort marks Israel’s deepest ground operation in southern Lebanon since its 2000 withdrawal from the security zone. It followed repeated Hezbollah rocket and drone attacks that shattered the April 2026 ceasefire and threatened northern Israeli communities.

Beaufort Castle is not symbolic terrain; it is decisive ground. The ridge dominates the Litani River and the Nabatiyeh plateau. Hezbollah used those heights for surveillance posts and launch sites aimed at Israel. Whoever holds Beaufort controls observation, movement, and interdiction across the border sector. Israel learned that lesson on Mount Hermon. It will not sacrifice civilians in Kiryat Shmona, Metula, or the Galilee to satisfy European discomfort.

Israel captures medieval Crusader castle in Lebanon

It’s been called the last strategically significant castle in the world — and now Israel holds it.

Israeli troops captured Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon as it campaigns against Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah in the country.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the seizure of the hilltop Crusader fortress as “a dramatic stage and dramatic change in our policy.”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shared pictures of the Israeli flag being raised above the 900-year-old fortress, which was constructed on a cliffside high above the Litani River.

The position gives Israeli troops a commanding lookout post over much of southern Lebanon and northern Israel.

Zionism is no longer the biggest threat in Satmar! It's AI!

B"H for AI! He is going to leave us alone for awhile!

The Satmar Rebbe on Thursday delivered an emergency address broadcast live to all Satmar institutions around the world, harshly attacking artificial intelligence.

In his remarks, the Rebbe called on his hasidim to distance themselves from any device that enables access to AI - including "kosher" phones approved for use by haredim.

"On every phone in the home, even on a kosher phone, one can connect to this impurity in a single moment," he said. "There are many victims - young boys, girls, and even married yeshiva students. They are falling and descending directly into hell."

The Rebbe defined AI as a threat more severe than any previous threat, comparing it to the battles the haredi world waged in the past against computers, videos, and smartphones.

"Back then, there was a solution - not to bring these devices into the home," he said. "This time there is no such solution. It is everywhere, and parents have no supervision."

"Anyone who knows of another person who has a connection to AI is obligated to report immediately to the administration of the institution. If he does not say anything, he bears the sin."

Beit Shemesh: Charedim storm police station

Violent clashes broke out early Monday morning near the Beit Shemesh police station following the attempted arrest of a young haredi man suspected of evading military service.

According to a police statement, the unrest began after Military Police removed the suspect from the scene. In response, dozens of extremist haredi demonstrators gathered outside the city's police station. Some attempted to breach the station's perimeter and set fire to nearby vegetation, which was extinguished before spreading to adjacent buildings.

Jerusalem District Police forces and Border Police officers were deployed to the scene. They used batons and stun grenades to disperse the rioters, successfully restoring order and regaining control of the station complex.

No injuries have been reported.

Live! Israel Day Parade on Fifth Ave....tens of thousands show up!

Talmidim of Harav Dov Kook go up to Har Habyis to Daven on his behalf

The Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi just released a statement on Har HaBayis that contradicts an entire polemic that he gave himself in the span of just a few days.

On the one hand, he delivers a whole halachic discourse on how one should bow on Har HaBayis — the angles, the posture, the kavanos — and then, in just a few days he issues a sweeping prohibition against going up at all.

Everyone understands what’s going on here.

The Chief Rabbinate has, for decades, taken its cues from the political establishment. It was built as an arm of the secular government, and its positions on Har HaBayis have always reflected that reality. This latest psak isn’t about halachah — it’s about maintaining the traditional political line.

And instead of thinking independently, instead of addressing the real halachic discussions happening across the Torah world, he simply defaulted to the old script.

But the Torah world has moved on.

In the video below, you can see respected chareidi rabbanim — serious poskim, not fringe voices — who permit ascending Har HaBayis lechatchilah, with clear halachic guidelines, based on Chazal, Rishonim, and the Rambam’s own descriptions of the Mikdash boundaries.

So when a talmid asks the obvious question — “How can you write a whole treatise on how to bow on Har HaBayis and then prohibit going up?” — he’s not being disrespectful. He’s being honest.

Because the contradiction is real. And the political pressure behind it is real. And the growing number of Torah authorities who reject that pressure is also very real.

The Chief Rabbinate can keep issuing statements that try to satisfy the government, but the Torah world is no longer pretending not to notice the gap between halachic reality and political convenience.

If the Chief Rabbinate wants to forbid Har HaBayis, fine — but writing a whole guide on how to bow there before prohibiting it is the kind of contradiction that only happens when politics holds the pen.

The train bound for Auschwitz. 1942. The Footage now in color

The train bound for Auschwitz. 1942.

Seeing this footage in color makes the unimaginable feel real. These are not distant figures from a history book. They are mothers, fathers, children, grandparents. People dressed in their Sunday best, carrying bags, holding loved ones close, unaware of the horror awaiting them.

For many, this journey ended at the gas chambers.

Six million Jews were murdered in just four years.

The Holocaust was not ancient history. It happened within living memory to ordinary people whose lives, dreams, and futures were stolen.

Never Again is not a slogan.

The deep divide between the Charedie & Dati-Leumi Culture!

Moshe Gafni, had an interview with Haaretz 2017, and made the following outrageous comment.

“I am not on the right, on policy issues I stand closer to the Left’s position,” and declared that “the Palestinians were here before us and we displaced them."

What a sick perverted piece of slime! "Palestinians were here before us?" Mamash what Hamas says and is an outrageous lie!

by  Leonard Oberstein

I discussed the army issue with a chareidi person and see that we does not live in the same reality. The very existence of the State of Israel is not that vital to him. He says you can't draft weak students because they will become non religious and that there is a war between the secular who want to destroy our yeshivos and the olom hatorah. In other words, the existence of Israel as an independent country is not at all his priority. This person didn't make it up. Ther hashkafa which prioritizes the safety and existence of the Jewish State is not his concern. What matters is the religious security of the haredi populace . Torah is the only priority. Even if this person lives in Israel, that is not a permanent situation. If the existence of Israel harms the kedusha of the people, then it is not necessarily permanent.
Is what this person told me accurate or am I speaking about a daas yochid.
Another thing. They either ignore or denigrate the units created for observant men. Both Netzach Yehudah and Hashmonaim are not a factor. They might as well not exist. These people feel no obligation to defend their homes and family, that is totally outside of their zone. The claim that they are learning and thus they are the defenders is just a point to pull out but it is not the real reason. The crowning remark is "We were here first." This means that before the Zionistts messed things up we lived in harmony with the Arabs. That may not be factual and the ones who say it may be students on a gap year from the US, but it is their main argument.

Rabbi Leonard Oberstein, who I've never met but who I've come to deeply admire and respect, has published a number of deeply respectful and thoughtful posts about the refusal of Haredim, especially Lithuanians, to serve in the IDF.
In the latest one, he noted that Haredim object that drafting anyone is dangerous, especially weaker students because they may abandon a life of Torah and mitzvos.
It hit me that such an assertion is a condemnation of the entire Haredi educational system. It is incapable of meeting any kind of intellectual, spiritual or cultural challenge. Its Judaism is so vulnerable that unless they are kept in an insulated cocoon, it cannot survive. The faith that confronted, and whose gedolim successfully confronted every single trend in world history has, in their hands, become feckless and feeble.
One could, of course, object that withdrawal into ghettoes worked to staunch the effects of the enlightenment and the emancipation. That's partly true, but it no longer obtains. The isolated gedolim can scream bloody murder against computers, the internet and AI. They are helpless and unable to stop them from penetrating their walls. The only way to preserve religious integrity is, ironically enough, judicial and critical confrontation and partial integration. Muscles exercised are stronger than those left to wither. The Haredi ideologues have signed the termination warrants of their own world if they continue to stick their heads in the sand.
Ironically, they have created precisely the conditions that took such a toll on traditional Jewry after 1789.

Zera Shimshon Parshas Ba'Haloischa

A Message From Esti’s Parents:

There are no words to describe the relief we are feeling knowing that Esti has been found safe. For the first time in days, we can hug our daughter and breathe again.
To be clear, while this is the end of the search, Esti still needs proper medical care, evaluation, and support, and our family is focused on making sure she is surrounded by the love and care she needs in the days ahead. We are incredibly grateful she is home, but we are still taking things moment by moment, and we ask that people refrain from speculating.
To the thousands of people who carried our family through this nightmare — thank you will never feel big enough. To every person who searched, shared her photo, hung flyers, checked cameras, sent messages, prayed, or simply held our family in their hearts: you gave us strength when we were running on none. We are so blessed to have a Jewish community here in Toronto that stood behind us and relentlessly did what they could. There are not enough words to thank the overwhelming support from the Jewish community and every resident of Toronto and the GTA who searched for Esti as if she was their own daughter.
We want to thank the Toronto Police Service, Shomrim Toronto Safety Patrol and everyone who worked tirelessly to help bring Esti home safely. We also want to thank God for sending all of this support and ensuring Esti has come home safely.
What we witnessed over these past days was extraordinary. People from all over the city, the country, and around the world came together for a child they had never even met. Complete strangers stopped what they were doing to help bring our daughter home. That love and humanity are something our family will never forget.
Right now, our focus is on Esti’s health, recovery, and well-being. We ask for continued prayers, love, and privacy as we begin the next stage of helping her heal.

Chinese-made cameras in Israel seen as growing national security threat

A new Israeli security analysis warns that thousands of Chinese-made surveillance cameras installed across Israel could become a dangerous intelligence weapon for Iran and Hezbollah.

According to the report by the Institute for National Security Studies, Iranian and Hezbollah operatives have intensified efforts to hack Israeli camera networks since the outbreak of war, using live surveillance feeds to gather intelligence, identify missile strike locations, and monitor sensitive sites.

Experts warn that modern AI-powered camera systems could effectively become the “eyes and ears” of enemy actors, especially amid the growing alliance between China and the Iran regime. The report also noted that Israel previously hacked Iran’s own surveillance infrastructure to track senior officials before the targeted killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei earlier this year.

The findings are fueling growing fears that Chinese technology embedded inside Israeli infrastructure could pose a serious national security threat during wartime, with hostile actors potentially exploiting the systems for espionage, surveillance, and terror operations.

Pro-Hamas Groups in Montreal Now Use Neture Karta for their Propaganda

After the backlash over this week’s Montreal4Palestine protest in Montreal, where effigies were hung from ropes, the group responded with a video featuring Neturei Karta members.
They wrote: “Calling these effigies ‘antisemitic’ falls apart when Jewish voices for Palestine are standing right in front of them.

DemonRat Party Finished : Sen. Chris Van Hollen calls for recognition of ‘State of Palestine’

The most politically significant portion of Van Hollen’s essay may be his warning to future Democratic presidential candidates.

By Corey Walker, The Algemeiner

For decades, support for Israel was one of the few enduring bipartisan constants in Washington.

But a new essay by Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) suggests that consensus is fracturing, with some Democrats increasingly viewing distance from the Jewish state not as a political liability but as a requirement for the party’s future.

In a lengthy opinion essay published Tuesday in The New York Times, Van Hollen issued one of his most sweeping criticisms of Israel to date, calling for the next Democratic president to condition military aid to the Jewish state and recognize a Palestinian state even absent a negotiated peace agreement.

Avinoam Davidson and her child Ayala Killed near Beit Semesh ... No One wore a seatbelt

At first glance, the accident on Road 1 did not appear to be serious. A car had crashed into the back of a stationary bus, but the car was not completely wrecked. Only the front of the car appeared crumpled, but despite this a terrifying fate had met the occupants of the car. Two – a baby and its mother, Avinoam and Ayala Davidson – succumbed to their injuries, while the driver and the father of the baby, who has five other children to raise, suffered serious injuries.

The shocking reason for this became apparent within a short time. Most of the occupants of the car were not wearing a seatbelt. A most basic requirement in driving had been flagrantly violated, and two people had paid the ultimate price.

The car was an unauthorized pirate taxi – known as a “driver” in Israeli jargon and representing an industry which has expanded exponentially in recent years, especially in charedi circles. People reluctant to pay high prices for official taxis have found convenient solutions within the community by paying unofficial conveyors to take them from place to place at half the price or less. The flip side of this is that they have no insurance, no transport training and no safety regulations in place. Their goal is usually to speed people to their destination as fast as possible – to enable more journeys and more income.

Police are investigating what exactly happened on the road in the moments when the “driver” collided with a bus that was standing on the right shoulder with flashing lights on, apparently after breaking down. Among other things, investigators are checking whether he was using a cellphone or making an illegal pass on the right shoulder and failed to return to the driving lane in time.

More Than 1,000 Members Expected to Leave Brooklyn Food Coop After Israel Boycott Vote

More than 1,000 members of a Brooklyn food cooperative are expected to stop shopping or resign after the store voted to remove Israeli-made products, according to reports published by the New York Post.

The controversy centers on the Park Slope Food Coop, where members approved a measure targeting Israeli goods during a contentious online meeting attended by thousands of people.

According to the report, Israeli-made products were removed from shelves shortly after the vote passed. Critics of the decision warned the move could deepen tensions inside the member-run grocery store and lead to significant membership losses.

Ramon Maislen, a member of the coop’s board, said an informal survey conducted before the vote indicated that as many as 1,000 members could leave if the boycott was approved.

Several longtime members told the publication they planned to stop shopping at the coop following the vote, arguing the campaign unfairly singled out Israel while ignoring products tied to other countries accused of human rights violations.

The dispute has fueled growing divisions inside the cooperative, where debates over Israel and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement have intensified in recent months. Some Jewish members said the atmosphere inside the coop had become increasingly hostile and uncomfortable.

Private security was also reportedly stationed outside the store following the vote amid heightened tensions and public protests over the decision.

Part 2 .......The Satmar Rebbe and the Destruction of Hungarian Jewry

The Satmar Rebbe, Yoel Teitelbaum, far right, when he arrives in Switzerland on the Kasztner transport from Bergen-Belsen.

This is the second of a two-part investigation into the life of the Satmar Rebbe. Read part one here.

During his stay in the Cluj ghetto, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum hid rather than position himself as a leader. On the rescue train, he avoided the other passengers, failed to encourage or to comfort them, and did not share the precious commodities provided by his followers with them.

In Bergen-Belsen, too, despite the preferential treatment accorded him in the camp, he refrained from assuming a leadership role, even among the observant inmates.

After his release, Rabbi Yoel elected to run a rescue campaign from the safety of Switzerland. His efforts to rescue Jewish children raised by gentiles were restricted to fundraising, and even in that task he failed abysmally.

Once again, his conduct stands in stark contrast to that of other rabbis, who returned to their hometowns to lead their surviving flocks or worked relentlessly in the DP camps. All the sources describing the rescue activities of the Haredi community during the Holocaust, including archival sources, indicate that compared to other rabbis who survived the Holocaust, Rabbi Yoel’s contribution was negligible in both scope and significance.
