They are looking at the maps and they now all know exactly where one can be permitted to go. The Tzaddik of Tzfas Rav Dov Kook has said many times that it is "a mitzvah bizman hazeh to ascend the Har Habayis with "teharah! "

Alot are still on the fence, because they either don't know anything about the recent archeological evidence to the precise area where the Kodshei Kodshim stood.

As I wrote many times, The Rambam ascended and even celebrated every year after that, on the anniversary of that holy day that he ascended.

President Herzog halts review of Netanyahu's pardon request

We are in the middle of a war — a literal fight for Israel’s survival — and yet President Herzog is insisting that Prime Minister Netanyahu continue appearing in court over allegations that boil down to cigars and a bottle of wine from years ago.

Anyone following the trial knows what’s happening: witness after witness has contradicted earlier claims, and the case is collapsing under its own weight. Herzog is fully aware of this. And still, he pushes for Netanyahu to be dragged back into court, day after day, while he is responsible for running a country at war.

This isn’t about “rule of law.” This isn’t about “ethics.” This is about politics — the same political pressure that has been applied since the moment Netanyahu returned to office.

Herzog comes from the ideological left, and his insistence on keeping the trial alive during wartime serves one purpose: to weaken Netanyahu, distract him, and undermine the government at the very moment Israel needs stability and unity.

You don’t have to agree with Netanyahu on everything to see how absurd this is. No functioning democracy demands that its wartime leader leave the war room to sit in a courtroom over gifts worth less than a weekend vacation.

Israel is fighting on multiple fronts — Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, the international arena — and the idea that the Prime Minister should be pulled away from managing all of this to deal with a trial that is falling apart is beyond irresponsible.

It’s dangerous.

And Israelis see it.

 President Isaac Herzog has decided to completely freeze all further review of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's official pardon request, Kan 11 News reported Sunday evening.

According to the report, Herzog's decision was made after the Prime Minister's team failed to respond to an initiative to open a direct channel of communication aimed at exploring an agreed-upon compromise framework for his trial.

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara was briefed on the details and expressed her support in principle for the move. However, Netanyahu chose not to reply to the President's overture.

Sources close to the President interpreted Netanyahu's silence as a lack of willingness to cooperate, leading to the decision to remove the matter from the agenda and freeze the process.

Legal experts note that this decision carries critical significance, as Netanyahu's testimony in his criminal trial is expected to conclude shortly - and once it does, the pardon request may become obsolete.

Europeans worry sanctions on Ben Gvir may backfire

 

A broad initiative is currently being advanced to completely ban National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir from entering all European Union countries, following the publication of a video in which he is seen together with participants in the pro-Palestinian flotilla to Gaza.

While Ben Gvir visited the detainees, one of the activists shouted, "Free Palestine," before being whisked away by the prison guards. Ben Gvir directly addressed the detainees while waving an Israeli flag, and then said to the camera: "The summer camp is over, whoever acts against the State of Israel will find a determined country, Am Israel Chai."

Meanwhile, Channel 12 News reported that European diplomats are finding that the decision to sanction Ben Gvir is not so simple and is encountering opposition precisely from some of the countries that are less fond of Israel. These countries worry that imposing personal sanctions on Ben Gvir would only strengthen his standing among his supporters and increase his power in Israel’s upcoming elections.

The move is being led, among others, by Italy and France. The Italian Foreign Minister has already announced that he will act to impose EU sanctions against Ben Gvir, and the French Foreign Minister has barred Ben Gvir from entering France.

However, after further consideration - mainly due to the understanding that such a decision would generate international media attention and opposition from countries in the EU that support Israel - the implementation of the move is now in doubt. The greatest concern among those promoting the decision is that while sanctions would be supported internationally, in Israel they would spark a wave of sympathy for Ben Gvir and his party.

“Unfortunately, New York City’s new mayor is not acting as a unifying and calming force, but as a figure who fuels disputes and deepens divisions among residents. Instead of strengthening the sense of unity and stability in the city, he contributes to escalating tensions and encouraging conflict, while rejecting a cornerstone of our heritage - the State of Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people," said Eric Goldstein, CEO of the UJA-Federation of New York.

It should be noted that Mamdani’s wife is also known for her strong positions against Israel and the Jewish people. She previously wrote that “Tel Aviv should not have existed in the first place." In addition, she praised Palestinian “freedom fighters" and commended the activities of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

In another post, she shared an antisemitic article by a pro-Palestinian activist who described Jews as “cockroaches" and “parasites."

In other posts, she used the racial slur “n****r." She also previously “liked" a post claiming that allegations of rape on October 7 were largely a hoax. Dawaji’s posts were published by the conservative media outlet Free Beacon.

Senior officials in the US administration report that President Donald Trump is demanding that Arab countries without ties to Israel - led by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan - immediately join the Abraham Accords and sign formal peace agreements.

Channel 12 News reported that Trump held a conference call with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. The original purpose of the call was to secure the support of Sunni states for a deal with Tehran aimed at ending the war.

The various leaders, including UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed - who had previously taken a far more hawkish stance regarding confrontation with Iran - expressed sweeping support for the US president. “They all told him: we’re with you on this deal, and if it doesn’t work, we’ll still be with you," a senior administration official said.

The dramatic turn in the conversation came when Trump directly linked security arrangements with Iran to diplomatic recognition of the State of Israel. According to those present, Trump made clear that once the campaign ends, he expects every country at the table that has not yet done so to open embassies and normalize relations with Israel, while focusing primarily on a historic peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel.

The direct and unexpected demand reportedly stunned some of those on the call, particularly Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan’s prime minister. “The moment those words were spoken, there was complete and awkward silence on the line. Trump immediately noticed the discomfort, joked aloud, and asked with a smile if they were still with him on the call," a senior official said.

To underscore his seriousness, the president added that he intended to contact Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately and expressed hope that in the near future Netanyahu would join them on the same conference call. He also announced that his special envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, would begin a dedicated round of talks on the issue in the coming weeks.

AMI Interviews Dan Goldman Running for Congress And wouldn't ask him his postion on Israel!

Dovid Lapinsky of AMI Magazine published a six‑page Shavuos‑edition interview with Congressman Dan Goldman, who is running in the Democratic primary for New York’s 10th District. His opponent is Brad Lander — a self-hating Jew whose record and positions in the Jewish communities' view as deeply hostile to Jewish interests.

This isn’t a city‑council race. A congressional seat shapes national policy, foreign aid, and America’s stance toward Israel. That makes the omissions in this interview all the more astonishing.

I don’t know much about Lapinsky personally, but one thing is clear: the interview was crafted in a way that avoided the single most important question on the mind of every frum Jew reading a Shavuos edition of a Jewish magazine:

“What is your position on Israel?”

Not one question. Not one paragraph. Not one line.

Instead, AMI opens by telling us that Goldman keeps kosher — as if that alone answers what voters need to know. I would rather he eat treif and vote like a Jew should!

So let’s spell out Goldman's record on Israel, since AMI chose not to:

1. He is openly hostile to Prime Minister Netanyahu, despite Netanyahu being elected in a fair democratic process.

2. He opposes Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, supporting restrictions on where Jews may live in their own ancestral homeland.

3. He supports a Two‑State Solution, a proposal repeatedly rejected by Palestinian leadership themselves.

Is Goldman better than Brad Lander? Many would say yes. But he is still firmly aligned with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, whose positions on Israel are increasingly troubling.

Which brings us back to AMI.

Why didn’t Lapinsky — or Yitzy Frankfurter — ask even a single question about Israel in a feature interview with a sitting congressman, printed in a frum magazine, on Shavuos of all times?

Do they believe Israel is irrelevant to their readership? Do they think the safety of millions of Jews in the only Jewish state is a side issue? Or were they simply unwilling to press a Democratic politician on positions that matter deeply to the Jewish community?

Whatever the reason, the result is the same: a missed opportunity, and a failure to provide readers with the information they deserve.

And in the end, voters will make their own decisions — and many may well choose the Republican candidate in November, especially if Goldman loses his primary. Personally I think that his chances of winning that primary is like a snowball in hell!

DIN Musings.... Parshas Bamidbar, Naso...IDF... Joy Living in Eretz Yisrael

 

1) In Eretz Yisrael, this Shabbos was no longer Shevuois, and millions of Jews went to shul to hear the Baal Koreh lein Parshas Naso.

But last week we read Parshas Bamidbar and the parsha opens with 45 pesukim detailing the count of those drafted for military service. The Ribbono Shel Olam chose to devote significant space to recording how many from each shevet served. That emphasis speaks for itself.

It’s hard not to notice the contrast with those in our community who passionately insist “נמות ולא נתגייס.” One wonders how they relate to these pesukim, which clearly do not align with that stance.

2) In this week’s parsha Naso we encounter Birchas HaKohanim.

In Eretz Yisrael, the Kohanim duchan every single day. In Chutz La’Aretz, however, it is done only on Yom Tov — and even then, only at Mussaf. Why?

The Rama in Shulchan Aruch (O.C. 128:44) explains the reason. A Kohein must be in a state of simcha in order to bless the people. But in Chutz La’Aretz, where parnassah is often uncertain and financial pressures weigh heavily, the Kohein is not naturally in that elevated emotional state. Even on Yom Tov, the worries of daily life linger.

By the time Mussaf arrives, though, the Kohein is already anticipating the Yom Tov seudah — and that anticipation itself brings him to a genuine feeling of simcha. Only then is he considered emotionally ready to stand before the tzibbur and deliver the blessing of Birchas HaKohanim.

A remarkable insight: the halachah recognizes not only the spiritual requirements of the mitzvah, but also the emotional reality of the people performing it.

What emerges from all this?

In Eretz Yisrael, even a Kohein who may have real parnassah concerns is nevertheless in a state of simcha. Why?

The Ohr HaChaim HaKadosh at the beginning of Parshas Ki Savo (Devarim 26:1) writes a remarkable principle:

אין שמחה אלא בישיבת הארץ

True simcha exists only through dwelling in Eretz Yisrael.

According to the Ohr HaChaim, the very fact of living in the Land infuses a Jew with a deeper, more essential joy — a simcha that is not dependent on circumstances, income, or external comforts. It is a simcha rooted in the neshama’s connection to the place where the Shechinah resides.

He then links this to the famous pasuk in Tehillim 126:

אז ימלא שחוק פינו

Then our mouths will be filled with laughter.

The joy of geulah, the joy of being in Hashem’s Land, is a joy that expresses itself naturally, almost effortlessly. It is not manufactured; it is inherent.

So the Rama’s halachic observation becomes illuminated by the Ohr HaChaim’s spiritual insight:

• In Chutz La’Aretz, simcha must be “created” — the Kohein needs the uplift of Yom Tov, and even then only by Mussaf, when the seudah is approaching.

• In Eretz Yisrael, simcha is “built in” — the very air of the Land generates it. Even with life’s pressures, the Kohein stands ready to bless daily, because the simcha of Eretz Yisrael flows through him.

A halachic detail becomes a window into the soul of the Land.

3) Rav Moshe Chagiz (1671-1750) in his Sefer שפת אמת writes:

"Whoever lives in Eretz Yisrael is fulfilling the will of his Father in Heaven and is called a צדיק and the RBS"O loves him.... and it is superfluous to note that anyone who speaks ill of the Land or of its residents is like the meraglim."

A person who speaks negatively about Zionists living in Eretz Yisrael, who belittles their mesirus nefesh or mocks their commitment to building the Land, is echoing the attitude of the meraglim. The meraglim’s sin was not merely refusing to enter the Land — it was speaking lashon hara about those who did want to go forward, and about the Land itself.

4)  Rav Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld noted — based on the words of the Shlah HaKadosh — that even great tzaddikim fall into the same pattern of thinking as the meraglim, allowing fear, habit, or preconceived notions to override the clear ratzon Hashem regarding Eretz Yisrael.

Rav Yissachar Shlomo Teichtal Hy”d writes in Eim HaBanim Semeichah with heartbreaking honesty and prophetic clarity. After witnessing the horrors of Europe, he re‑evaluated the anti‑Zionist attitudes he once shared. His conclusion is blunt:

Those who oppose aliyah and the rebuilding and resettlement of Eretz Yisrael are, in essence, following the path of the meraglim — while those who choose aliyah and support the return to the Land stand with the camp of Yehoshua and Kalev.

This is not a political statement. It is a spiritual diagnosis.

At first, the meraglim were not resha’im. They were in fact leaders, scholars, righteous men — yet they failed to align themselves with the Divine call to enter the Land. Rav Teichtal warns that the same mistake can repeat in every generation, even among the most sincere.

And the opposite is also true: Those who embrace the mitzvah of yishuv Eretz Yisrael, who support its rebuilding, who see the Land as the center of Jewish destiny — they are walking in the footsteps of Yehoshua and Kalev, the two who said:עלה נעלה — we can and must ascend.

Those who embrace Eretz Yisrael tap into a simcha that is deeper than circumstance — the simcha of Yehoshua and Kalev. Those who resist it, risk echoing the fear-driven stance of the meraglim.

A halachic detail, a mystical insight, and a historical tragedy all converge to teach one message: The Land itself generates simcha, clarity, and spiritual courage — and those who attach themselves to it stand with the camp of geulah.

The New York Times reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials have been largely excluded from ongoing US-Iran truce negotiations, as differences reportedly emerged between Israeli and American priorities during discussions over a possible agreement to end the conflict.

Israel and the United States were closely aligned when the conflict began on February 28, but Israel was not represented during a telephone summit held Saturday by President Donald Trump with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey regarding an updated memorandum of understanding. Reuters reported that Pakistan also participated in the discussion.

Israeli broadcaster N12 reported that Netanyahu convened a meeting of his security Cabinet Saturday over what he viewed as a proposal unfavorable to Israel.

An Israeli official cited by N12 said US envoy Steve Witkoff was strongly backing the proposed arrangement and “wants a deal at almost any price, and is placing immense pressure on Trump not to resume the war.”

The New York Times reported that Netanyahu had publicly portrayed himself as closely coordinated with Trump during the conflict, telling Israelis the two leaders spoke “almost every day” and were “deciding together.”

Israeli and American priorities later diverged after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and oil prices rose.

The newspaper reported that Trump shifted toward pursuing an end to the fighting while some members of his administration viewed regime change in Iran as unrealistic.

Netanyahu entered the war with three stated objectives: overthrowing the Iranian regime, dismantling Iran’s nuclear program and eliminating its missile program.

However, the agreement currently under discussion reportedly does not include provisions addressing Iran’s uranium enrichment activities or ballistic missile program.

According to N12, the proposed arrangement would involve Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for financial benefits while discussions concerning Tehran’s nuclear program and enriched uranium stockpile would be postponed until a later stage.

The New York Times also reported that Trump restrained several Israeli military initiatives during the conflict, including operations involving Iranian energy infrastructure and proposals related to Kurdish fighters entering Iran from Iraq.

 The footage surfaced the same day a new PIX11 News/Emerson College/The Hill poll showed Lander holding a commanding lead over Rep. Dan Goldman in the Democratic primary for New York’s 10th Congressional District.

According to the poll, 57% of Democratic voters in the district said they support Lander, compared to 23% for Goldman, who is seeking a third term in Congress. Another 20% of respondents said they remain undecided.

Lander, who has aligned himself politically with Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has increasingly emerged as a leading voice of New York’s progressive movement. The district’s top issues include immigration, affordability and U.S. support for Israel, according to the survey.

A society that practices silence when wig shops are attacked, when business owners are threatened, when glass is broken, when walls are corrupted, when children see vandalism and understand that it's called "Holy War", should not be surprised when the next generation gets the message.

The message is simple and dangerous:

 if something seems not holy enough to you, you are allowed to harm it. And if damage is allowed, why stop at the property? And if it's allowed to harm in the name of religion, who decides where the border is?

And this is where the problem begins.

Violence does not begin with murder. It begins with silence. It starts with a wink. It starts with "Well, they're extremists". It starts off with "don't make it a big deal". It starts with the rabbi who don't yell loud enough,  businessmen who are afraid of getting involved,  the public that prefers to look away, and in good people who tell themselves that it's nothing to do with them.

This does have to do with you.

Because whoever burns a store today, may raise his hand tomorrow. Whoever chases a woman in the street today, may hurt a person tomorrow. Whoever teaches that violence is a legitimate tool in religious struggle, cannot later be shocked when this tool is activated to the end "

Rabbi Breitowitz "NO ISSUES FOR ANYONE TO GO UP ON THE HAR HABYIS" "We know which area not to go"

 

Rabbi Dr. Yitzchak Breitowitz, lecturer at Ohr Somayach Jerusalem, detailed in his lesson the boundaries and laws of impurity regarding those who ascend the Temple Mount and are careful to immerse before visiting the Mount.

Rabbi Breitowitz noted that a person who is impure due to contact with the dead may enter a large area of the Temple Mount, but he may not go near where the Holy of Holies stood.

"So some say, don't go to the Har Habayis (the Temple Mount) at all, because you never know," he explained. "But in truth, in truth, we kind of do know. And we do have kind of an unbroken mesorah (tradition) that the Machanah Shechina ('Camp of the Divine Presence,' where the holiest parts of the Temple stood - ed.) begins in very close proximity to the Dome of the Rock. The Dome of the Rock itself is on the site of the Holy of Holies. And if you then work backwards in terms of measuring the Mikdash (Temple), you can determine it."

He added,

 "I myself have never been on the Har Habayis. I don't go to the Har Habayis myself, and I am machmer (stringent), but I'm not sure if I need to be machmir, because ... there's absolutely a safe zone" where someone impure from contact with the dead is allowed to go. At the same time, "in terms of the government, people can go wherever they want."

Rabbi Breitowitz stressed, "There are religious people who go. You will always notice that they do have a requirement that if you want to go to the Har Habayis, you must go to the mikveh (ritual bath)."

Additionally, he noted, the Orthodox groups that go have prepared very careful maps, and at the same time, "there are also those who are so stringent that they do not even go to the Western Wall."

Rabbi Breitowitz joins a growing list of haredi rabbis who encourage ascending the Temple Mount, and some of whom even ascend the Temple Mount themselves. Among these are Rabbi Dov Kook, Rabbi Daniel Stavsky, Rabbi Mendel Tobias, and Rabbi Yitzchak Brand, as well as rabbis Tikochinsky, Frank, Zilberman, and Rosenthal.

Is Trump Buckling on Iran? Will he accept any deal now, Declare Victory and leave???

 

President Trump is facing a moment of maximum peril in his handling of Iran — one that will shape his legacy, America’s stature and perhaps the course of history itself.

We are entering the sixth week of a two-week cease-fire that was agreed to on the pre-condition that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened immediately.

Yet it never opened, and Iran continues to attack our Arab allies — while it dithers and strings out talks. What gives?

The prez’s big risk: Political pressure over the midterms and the buzzing of isolationists in Trump’s own camp might nudge him to take any deal that lets him declare victory, save face and bug out of Iran.

This would be a catastrophic mistake, comparable almost to Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler at Munich in 1938.

It would burn his legacy on the bonfire of political expediency.

Walking away with a bad deal now would enhance the stature of Iran, vindicate its claims to regional hegemony, place our Arab and Israeli allies in a precarious position and signal to China, Russia and the middle powers that American resolve is paper-thin.

It would also render meaningless the sacrifice of tens of thousands of brave Iranian citizens who were slaughtered for daring to stand up against nearly 50 years of the mullahs’ tyranny.

Trump has long condemned President Barack Obama’s 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as a sellout deal that rewarded Iranian obstreperousness about its pursuit of a nuclear bomb and support for terror proxies throughout the region.

But the shape of negotiations today makes it plausible that, in exchange for vague promises about weapons and nuclear enrichment, Iran could emerge with the power to toll the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief, a ton of cash and a burnished reputation covering up its savagery.

This would be a statement of humiliation that would make Obama look like Sun Tzu by comparison.epleted stocks of missiles and resume arming Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis, confident that US threats of retaliation are empty.

And what future president would want to open up the Islamic Republic can of worms once again?

Meanwhile, Iran uses its friends in Pakistan and Qatar to communicate that a great deal is just around the corner.

Iran’s latest peace proposal reportedly contained nearly all the outrageous demands — reparations, release of frozen funds, no more Israeli attacks on Hezbollah terrorists — as its previous one.

Yet Trump agreed yet again to hold off on any military action and allow talks to proceed for days more, perhaps even a week.

The White House may have some tactical reason for this: Arab allies, for example, may need to prepare their defenses.

Yet every time Trump waves his fist at Iran and promises to take out “a whole civilization,” only to reset the clock when time expires, he diminishes his image and squanders American credibility.

The choices in the next few days will shape not only Trump’s legacy but the role of the United States as a global power and the protector-of-last-resort of the world’s sea lanes.

After Britain’s 1956 Suez crisis, British Prime Minister Anthony Eden walked away from Suez, handing Nasser control of the canal and the power to shape the Middle East for decades to come.

Asked what he would have done, Winston Churchill said: “I would never have dared; and if I had dared, I would certainly never have dared stop.” 

Trump acted boldly when he struck a blow against the Iranian regime and vowed to denuclearize it.

Backing down now would demonstrate not peace through strength, but peace through weakness. And a surely temporary peace at that.

Don’t buckle now, Mr. President. Finish the job.

Bert Dweck Facing Multiple Fraud Suits

 Brooklyn real estate broker Bert I. Dweck and his family are facing more fraud suits in New Jersey, as alleged victims circle the family’s assets.

Since the start of the year, four lawsuits have been brought against Dweck in New Jersey state court, where the broker faces allegations that he diverted investment funds to pay for his family's lavish expenditures. Seven cases in New York state make similar allegations.

Across the two states Dweck is a defendant in 11 lawsuits – and more are expected to come.
