Unilever lays down the law after Ben & Jerry’s woke founders try to buy back brand

Unilever on Thursday said the conglomerate has no intention of selling Ben & Jerry’s — despite a bid by the founders of the popular ice cream brand to buy back the company.

Starting July 1, Unilever’s ice cream brands will be spun off and renamed the Magnum Ice Cream Company, a nod to the division’s other popular company. The spin-off will be listed in the Netherlands as a separate company.

“The separation and listing of ice cream is the option that we consider maximizes shareholder value, that has not changed,” Unilever CEO Fernando Fernandez said on a media call, according to Bloomberg.

Ben & Jerry’s did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Ben & Jerry’s has been battling its London-based owner for years over its freedom to support liberal causes publicly, like protesting President Trump and the war in Gaza, and calling for police departments to be defunded.

In 2022, the ice cream brand sued Unilever for selling its Ben & Jerry’s business in Israel to a partner who continued to sell the sweet treats with slightly different branding.

The companies reached a settlement that same year, which required Unilever to respect Ben & Jerry’s independent board.

Earlier this week, news broke that Unilever allegedly threatened to pull funding for the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation, a nonprofit supporting organizations that advocate for prison reforms and undocumented youth.

Unilever demanded the foundation submit to an expedited audit to continue receiving funding – about $5 million each year, sources told Reuters.

“We have not made any threat,” Fernandez said, adding that audits are a valid form of governance and the company wants to know where its money is going.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that these funds are used properly,” he said. “It has to be allocated to areas or institutions that are absolutely in line with the ones that are part of the acquisition agreement.”

In March, Ben & Jerry’s claimed Unilever fired its chief executive David Stever, who started as a tour guide at the brand’s Waterbury, Vt., factory, over anti-Trump activism.

The brand argued the firing violated its 2000 merger agreement with Unilever.

Unilever responded that it has the authority to appoint a new chief executive, and that it would only make such a decision after speaking with the board.

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, childhood friends from Long Island, NY, founded the company in 1978. They sold the company to Unilever for $326 million in 2000.

Sa'ar wants Banks to revoke 200 shekel bills in order to undermine Hamas' economy.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has submitted a request to Prof. Amir Yaron, Governor of the Bank of Israel, to carry out an extraordinary economic move and revoke the legal tender status of certain 200 Shekel bills.

The goal is to undermine Hamas’ economic power base in the Gaza Strip. Sa'ar explained that Hamas relies heavily on cash circulating within Gaza, estimated at billions of shekels.

According to Sa'ar, Hamas uses these bills to pay its operatives and collect “taxes” from merchants. According to a team of experts, who worked on a voluntary basis, about 80% of the amount in Gaza is held in 200 shekel bills.

“Denying the financing capacity of terrorist organizations in general and Hamas, in particular, is a vital pillar of the war effort,” Sa'ar wrote.

Sa'ar added that canceling a certain series of 200 shekel bills, which were transferred to Gaza in recent years, could deal a "strategic economic blow" to Hamas, disrupting its governance abilities and recruitment mechanisms.

This is for the Idiot That commented on DIN That The Female IDF Are "Not Heros"

Yom Hashoah!!

Tonight and tomorrow on Yom HaShoah, we at DIN remember the 6 million Jews who were brutally murdered during the Holocaust.

*Especially now, as antisemitism is once again rearing its ugly head, I believe that regardless of whether one agrees with designating a specific day for Holocaust remembrance, as opposed to honoring the Kedoshim every single day, we can all take a moment to pause, to reflect, and to remember the holy Neshamos who were murdered solely for being Jewish.

Say a kapitel tehillim that you otherwise wouldn’t say. Maybe refrain from that conversation during Chazaras HaShatz.

Do something L’iluy Nishmasam.*

Rabbi Dov Landau admitted to hospital following fall.

Rabbi Dov Landau, leader of the Lithuanian-haredi community and the dean of the Slabodka Yeshiva, was evacuated Thursday morning to Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center after falling during the night.

Rabbi Landau, 95, fell while he was at his home and suffered great pain. Following his fall, Rabbi Landau did not attend the morning prayers at the yeshiva.

The hospital conducted a series of imaging and other tests on Rabbi Landau, and admitted him for further observation.

The family has asked the public to pray for the complete recovery of Rabbi Ephraim Dov, the son of Devora, among the other ill of Israel.

'Ani Maamin': The song of hope and faith born on the train to Treblinka

In 1942, Rabbi Azriel David Fastag, a cantor composer from the Modzitz hasidic sect, was squashed onto a train together with thousands of his Jewish brethren, on their way to the Treblinka death camp.

In the suffocating crush, he began humming a quiet tune to the words of the twelfth Principle of Faith, "I believe with full faith in the coming of Moshiach (the messiah)." The tune spread throughout the train car, becoming a tune of hope in the darkness.

Rabbi Azriel David, who sensed his end was near, asked that the tune be passed to his leader, the Modzitz Rebbe, who then lived in the US. He promised half of his portion in the World to Come to whoever succeeded in bringing the tune to the Rebbe.

Two Jews jumped from the train. One of them was killed, but the second succeeded in teaching the tune to the Modzitz Rebbe, Rabbi Shaul Yedidya Elazar Taub, who disseminated it throughout the Jewish world.

"With this tune, Jewish marched to the gas chambers, and with this tune, Jews will march to greet Moshiach," he said.

The tune became a symbol of hope and faith, and is performed to this day at Holocaust memorial events and ceremonies.

Man Killed in Rare Shark Attack Off Hadera Coast Identified as Barak Tzach

Police have confirmed the death of Barak Tzach, a 45-year-old father of four from Petah Tikva, in a rare shark attack off the coast of Hadera. His remains were recovered and positively identified by forensic experts after he went missing Monday while snorkeling.

Tzach had entered the water with a GoPro camera to document sharks — not feed them — contrary to early speculation. His wife, Sarit Tzach, said he was simply observing from a distance and used his camera stick to gently push the sharks away when they came too close.

Eyewitnesses described a terrifying scene. One woman told Channel 12 that Tzach shouted, “I’ve been bitten,” before being dragged away by several sharks. Bystanders captured the incident on video as it unfolded in the Mediterranean waters.

The attack occurred in an area known to attract sharks due to warm water discharged from a nearby power plant. Although the zone is officially off-limits to swimmers, many had entered the sea during the Passover holiday week, some reportedly interacting with the sharks.

Marine authorities say this is only the third recorded shark attack in Israel’s history — and the first fatal one in decades. Beaches in the area have been closed until further notice.

Ben-Gvir Treated Royally at Mar-a-Lago

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir met with senior members of the Republican Party at U.S. President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., on Tuesday night.

“I had the honor and privilege of meeting with senior members of the Republican Party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate,” Ben-Gvir tweeted on Wednesday morning.

“They expressed support for my clear stance on how action should be taken in Gaza—that food and aid depots should be bombed to create military and political pressure to bring our hostages home,” he stated.

His office added that during the Mar-a-Lago dinner, Ben Gvir met with GOP House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and was invited to speak to members of Congress and senators from the Republican Party.

Addressing attendees in Hebrew through an interpreter, Ben-Gvir said, “I love you very much, I love the American people. We have a joint war against the jihadists—for many years, I’ve been fighting against them.”‘ ...

He added: “Thank God, we’ve made a few changes in Israel in how we treat jailed terrorists. It used to be like a hotel over there. We took away all their privileges, canteen, showers, television, radio.”

The statement from Ben-Gvir’s office said that the Tuesday evening dinner also included dozens of “senior businessmen” from Miami.

Ahead of the dinner, Ben-Gvir visited a Miami-area police station.

As part of the minister’s first-ever official visit abroad, which started on Monday, Ben-Gvir also met with Jewish community leaders, public figures and American government officials, his office stated.

Following his arrival at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday, Ben-Gvir was hounded by left-wing Israeli activists, who accused the right-wing minister of being a “racist” and a “terrorist.”

After his arrival, Ben-Gvir met with members of the Boca Raton Jewish community, as well as the Aleph Institute, a group that supports Jewish inmates and is affiliated with the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.

On Monday, Ben-Gvir toured the Everglades Correctional Institute, meeting with Jewish inmates and observing rehabilitation programs.

The police minister also visited an Israeli supermarket in Hollywood, Florida, and stopped at a Jewish-owned gun store in the Miami area.

Ben-Gvir will leave for New York on Wednesday, including a stop at Yale University in Connecticut. There, he will meet with students and faculty at an off-campus event hosted by Shabtai, a global Jewish leadership society independent from the university.

The U.S. visit, which a spokesman for Ben-Gvir described to JNS earlier this month as “political-diplomatic,” marks the minister’s first official overseas visit since he joined the government in December 2022.

In Israel More and More Non-Kosher Restaurants Convert To Kosher

The Israeli economic newspaper Calcalist recently published an in-depth article on the growing trend of non-kosher restaurants converting to kosher—a shift that, until just a few years ago, was considered unthinkable in Tel Aviv, a city long associated with secular, free-spirited, and innovative cuisine.

The story begins with the opening of “Rova Aleph”, a kosher restaurant led by chef Evyatar Malka, launched at the location previously occupied by “L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon”, a branch of the famed non-kosher French chef’s chain. The new restaurant now operates under an official kashrut certification from the Israeli Rabbinate.

Two U.S. E-3 Sentry Aircraft Arrive in CENTCOM’s Middle East Zone

T

The E-3 Sentry, a sophisticated airborne command and control aircraft, plays a critical role in coordinating complex, large-scale air operations with a range of hundreds of kilometers.

If this is merely a U.S. deception maneuver aimed at Iran — it’s shaping up to be one of the most elaborate and convincing we’ve seen.

Warning!! Explicit Language!

Ronan Bergman Traitor to the Jewish People Leaks Info to prevent Israel From Destroying Iran's Nuclear Sites!

Translated from Hebrew

Ronen Bergman leaked to "The New York Times" the plan of attack and preparations of the IDF for an Israeli commando attack on the nuclear sites in Iran, which was supposed to be carried out next month (May), this caused the cancellation of the planned attack, after this villain worked to disrupt it, and ruined the surprise factor.

This is the same "journalist" (Stinker) who tried to tip off Hezbollah about the beeper attack in Lebanon a day before the execution, publishing a *severe* warning against actions that could lead to a widespread regional war. But despite his attempt to disrupt the action it was highly successful!

According to reports, a police complaint has been filed against him, claiming he had held classified information and distributed it.

Did you hear that he was being investigated for that??!!
Of course not !!
Did you hear that he visited the basements of the GSS?!
Of course not !!
And yesterday this criminal leaked again an attack plan on Iran,
The serious damage this man causes to national security is unbelievable!
This reckless man needs to be thrown into a dungeon today until his last day.
The man works in the service of the enemy, to make money, from an anti-Semitic newspaper.
The man is a war criminal and this is how he should be treated.
Now try to compare between the leak of the GSS member Amir Ben Hai who "leaked" to Amit Segal and minister Amihai Shikli, the fact that GSS spies on ministers in order to criminalize them, without any evidence or reason whatsoever.
Amir has suffered torture in the GSS basements, and the criminal Ronen Bergman who systematically damages the security of Israel in a way far worse and no one from the "Deep State" is pointing a finger against him!

Putin where are you? Ukrainians vicious antisemites rising against the Jews Again and attack Shul With Molotov Cocktails

A Molotov cocktail was hurled at a shul in Kryvyi Rih on the final night of Pesach, marking the latest in a troubling series of antisemitic incidents sweeping across parts of Ukraine.

According to Chabad emissary and city Rabbi Liron Edri, the shul’s advanced security system — recently upgraded through support from Chabad World Assistance (CWA) and the Jewish Agency’s Security Fund — detected the threat and prevented what could have been a devastating blaze.

“Thanks to the reinforced windows installed in recent months, a major fire was averted,” Rabbi Edri said. “The building was saved, but the message behind the attack is deeply concerning.”

Surveillance footage reportedly showed multiple Molotov cocktails being thrown at the shul. While no injuries were reported and structural damage was minimal, the incident has raised fears of an emerging pattern of targeted antisemitic violence.

Just weeks ago, a similar attack occurred in Mykolaiv, a southern Ukrainian city near the Black Sea, where Molotov cocktails were thrown at another shul. Rabbi Edri believes these incidents are not isolated.

“We fear this is a coordinated trend,” he said. “There seems to be an effort to intimidate Jewish communities across Eastern Europe, and we must remain vigilant.”

Local police have opened an investigation into the Kryvyi Rih attack and have pledged to bring those responsible to justice. Rabbi Edri commended the authorities for their immediate response and urged continued vigilance.

“We will not let fear silence our faith,” he said. “Light will dispel darkness. I am grateful to the police and government officials who arrived swiftly and assured us that this will be thoroughly investigated.”

The attack comes amid a broader uptick in antisemitic acts throughout Ukraine. The nation’s ongoing conflict with Russia has fueled political instability and nationalist sentiment, providing fertile ground for extremist rhetoric in some regions.

Why Chareidim Want the Reform to win in the WZO Elections!

DIN: This is my take on the WZO Elections:

Chareidie Askanim and their Torah leaders want to remain in Chutz Le'aaretz! Their hashkafa is that the Jews have to remain in Galut until Moshiach comes. They ignore historical facts on the ground that HKB"H orchestrated the greatest miracle in 2,000 years by establishing a vibrant State in 1948. A home where the majority of the Jews live now. The secular year 1948 is not a coincidence, the year that Avraham Aveenu was told by HKB"H that his children were going to receive a gift from Him, the Land of Israel was 1948, after creation!

In order to implement their farkumte hashkafa, they decided to call those who did everything to gather in the exiles ..."Koifrim" They then embedded this perverted idea into the minds and hearts of their offspring.

In fact Rav Teicthtal speaks about the hate in reference vis-à-vis the opposition of Rabbanim to building the State:

"Not only did they oppose this undertaking, but they caused the simple, frum Jews to despise the rebuilding of the land so much that if one of them began to speak or get enthused about it, they considered him repulsive and abominable. They all rebuke him, saying, "You are a Zionist, an abhorrence, and an abomination." Thus, they have truly caused the desirable Land to be despised and detested. The simple man who does not know enough Torah to decide on his own whether this is true or not, chastises those who rebuild the Land. He shouts, "You are a sinner and a Zionist," for he wants to be considered devout and pious. "

But suddenly they faced a threat to their hashkafa!

The State of Israel in less than a century, became a עיר ואם בישראל a haven for millions of Jews, a State where all Jews are welcome, despite it being in constant wars with enemies who surround her.

In fact the Torah Leaders of the "medina" set up political parties in the Knesset and joined the government.

One popular Chutzniker Gadol wrote that anyone, including Gedoilei Yisrael who set up parties in the Knesset and are supporters of Zionism are considered "koifrim", the Gedoilim in the State, such as Rav Shach, Rav Ovadia Yosef, Gerer and Belzer Rebbes, totally ignored anything he had to say and joined the Government of "koifrim"

The Chutznik Torah leaders panicked and came up with another idea to tell their brethren who did live in the State not to take any money from the "medina" this was to make sure that those Jews remain dependent on them.

But Hashem in His infinite wisdom had other plans and made sure that the "medina" allocated millions to Torah institutions, just this year alone 800 million Shekels, that's over $216 million, making the "medina" the largest contributor to Torah ever in the entire Jewish history!

Suddenly, they watched with amazement as all their ridiculous, outdated and irrelevant hashkafas were rapidly going down the proverbial drain!

So they got together and schemed and came up with another plan!

"Why not make the Jewish State totally secular, so that the frum chutznikers would never again make Aliyah and they would be able to point out like the Satmar Rebbe z"l shouted 60 years ago that a "Frum Jew would not be able to live in Eretz Yisrael."

The Answer WZO Elections! !!!!!!

They recruited Gedoilim in Eretz Yisrael like Rav Landau, who from Bnei-Brak called the elections in Beit Shemesh a "Milchemes Mitzvah" and they enlisted the American Slobodke R"Y Harav Hirsch, whose older brother became a chilonie, on board!

This was "mammesh" a bird that flew into their hands. if only they could get the naive Chutznikers not to vote in the WZO elections, the Reform and Israeli Leftist Organizations would inevitably win and they would turn the entire State,,secular!

This would be a "win win" situation, the State becomes entirely secular and Jews remain in Chutz Le'aaretz until another Hitler ym"s comes to round them up, c"v!

But at least they will have a State to run to, unlike the Jews pre WW2!

Below is a comment from someone on another blog!

In general, since the late 1800’s with the rise of Zionism, many of the Gedolim came out on the wrong side of major issues concerning the welfare of Klall Yisrael. The main 3 are: Zionism, the threat of Hitler Yemach Shmo (the Holocaust) and the plight of Soviet Jewry. Most Gedolim were against any cooperation with secular Zionism. Most did not heed the warnings of Jabotinsky and others to the danger of the rise of Nazism And many opposed the rallies and pressure against the Soviet regime for religious freedom and the right to leave Russia by the Jews caught behind the Iron Curtain. They were terribly wrong on all 3 of these issues. And, sadly, today we are still witnessing this negativity by the Gedolim who oppose, against their own betterment, as so eloquently presented by this letter writer, matters if great concern to Orthodoxy in Eretz Yisrael. It is a very sad indictment that even after more than 75 years after the establishment of Medinat Yisrael, these Gedolim do not really appreciate the need to be more positively involved in the affairs of the State and not just in their own institutions and Yeshivot. We are still bereft of true Torah leadership in the so-called Chareidi community.

Gafni Chairman of Degel Prefers Laped & Ganz to Netanyahu

DIN: What is baffling is that Gafni is still in the government after his Spiritual Leader Rav Landau told him to quit!

Gafni has declared that he prefers Lapid, Gantz and Bennett to Netanyahu:

Degel HaTorah Chairman Moshe Gafni is very angry at the conduct of Netanyahu and the coalition, which will return from a hiatus without significant progress with the conscription law and the suspension of ultra-Orthodox education budgets.

Gafni said the following sentence in closed conversations:

"We are like slaves of the Likud! We will not accept it anymore."

This week harsh countermeasures will be decided

Meanwhile Smotrich told Gafni - you are in exile and represent a small minority in ultra-Orthodox society. Start respecting the rabbis of Religious Zionism

Charedi man pays for 83K NIS of beer and pizza being sold on Pesach Only to have it destroyed

An unusual incident that transpired at a spring fair at the Haifa Port Terminal on Passover set off an uproar on social media: a young haredi man came with his family, gave the owners of the stands the price of all the beer and pizzas (which are "chametz" and forbidden on Passover) at the stands, and demanded it all be destroyed in front of him.

According to a video making its rounds on social media and published by Walla, the haredi man paid those running the bar 83,200 shekels, made them sign a commitment not to sell chametz at all during the holiday, and personally oversaw that the beer was poured down the drain and that the pizza was thrown into a dumpster, where it was burned.

A video of the incident was sent around on haredi messaging groups with the headline "destroying the chametz."

Many at the fair criticized the move. Assaf Danieli, 43, from Ramat Meir, who came to the fair with his family, complained: "When we returned from sailing, the bartender refused to sell me wine because they were busy spilling out the beer. He told me that something crazy happened, pointed at a haredi guy, and said that he bought all the beer, some 30 kegs, and demanded that they spill it out."

Danieli added furiously: "In principle, I think it's stunning that someone is investing nearly a hundred thousand shekels to save me from my own free will, when that money could actually save people for real. After all, anyone who wanted to drink beer and eat pizza did so a short distance away."

The organizers of the event chose not to address the claims: "This is a totally private event," the organizer, Asaf Ben-David, stated. The Haifa Municipality and Haifa Port stressed that the event was not connected to them."

Tempo Beer Industries, the producer of Goldstar Beer, which sponsored the venue, commented: "Goldstar Beer provides an annual sponsorship to the Haifa Terminal, which hosted the spring fair this year. We have no control over the Terminal's events, and this was not a sponsorship for the aforementioned event. If we had been aware of the event ahead of time, we would have worked for the removal of Goldstar from the invitation as a sponsor."

Released Terrorist: “Before Ben-Gvir, Israeli Prison Was Like Summer Camp”

A shocking video published by Channel 14 on Monday reveals one of the terrorists released in one of the recent prisoner release deals describing his enjoyable 22-year imprisonment in Israel, saying it was just like “summer camp.”

Islamic Jihad terrorist Iyad Jaradat was sentenced to life imprisonment for dispatching the terrorists who infiltrated Moshav Gadish in 2003 and opened fire, murdering Eli Biton, H’yd, and wounding four others.

Jaradat’s “life imprisonment” ended earlier this year when he was released to his hometown of Jenin. In an interview immediately after his release, he publicly praised the Nukhba terrorists who carried out the October 7 massacre.

Channel 14 published a video of another interview with Jaradat published last month, during which he described his imprisonment.

The interviewer asked: “Before October 7, how was it in prison, honestly?”

Jaradat: “There was respect, there were understandings [between us and the Israeli guards]. Ben-Gvir said that the prisons were like summer camps. Perhaps some would say that’s an exaggeration. Whoever wants to gets angry should get angry but they truly were like summer camps.”

“Not all, but everything was available. Our relationship with the Prison Services, the officers, managers, and police – it was as if we were one family.”

One of the first things that Ben-Gvir accomplished when he entered his position was to strip security prisons of all amenities.

Charedi Ads Against Voting for WZO Funded by Chilonim and the Reform!

Dr. Yitzhar Hess

DIN: I'm not surprised. Chareidim in Israel are a bunch of naive, ignorant sheep led by crooked askanim! Rav Landau was duped by his handlers who were bribed by the Reform. In Beit Shemesh Rav Landau declared a "milchemes" mitzva" in the local mayoral elections that ran against a Shomeret Torah Umotzvois, his "milchemes mitzva" won and it turned out to be a disaster!

Anyone familiar with the World Zionist Organization knows there have been significant struggles between the Conservative Movement and the charedi faction, ever since the latter—Eretz HaKodesh, led by Rabbi Pesach Lerner—joined the WZO in the last elections.

However, it turns out that the peak of the struggle remained behind the scenes, far from the glaring spotlight. It actually involves direct interference in the election by the Conservative Movement—through one of its leaders, Dr. Yizhar Hess, who serves as the deputy chairman of the WZO, a member of its executive board, and a board member of the movement’s organization.

A Kikar Hashabat investigation reveals why a few weeks ago, bulletin boards in  charedi neighborhoods across Israel were suddenly covered with wall posters and street ads strongly warning against participating in or voting for Zionist institutions. This is currently a live issue among Diaspora Jewry and under discussion among senior rabbis (Gedolei Yisrael).

On one side, Rabbi Dov Landau firmly opposed voting. On the other, “Eretz HaKodesh” presents support from the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, of blessed memory, along with other rabbis in Israel and the U.S. who supported voting in the previous elections.

The posters, plastered around Jerusalem, were actually funded by the Conservative Movement. This is particularly unusual, given that the WZO elections aren’t widely discussed in Israeli media, and most of the Haredi public is unaware of the details—especially since the matter mainly concerns Diaspora Jews.

The Kikar HaShabbat investigation reveals that the “Merkaz Olami” association—an organization managing the Conservative Movement’s activities within the WZO—funded the printing and distribution of these posters.

As evidenced by an invoice obtained by Kikar Hashabbat,  “Merkaz Olami” transferred tens of thousands of shekels for a round of street ad placement against participating in the Zionist elections.

According to a charedi source in the WZO, “Despite their attempts to hide their involvement, the Conservative Movement views ‘Eretz HaKodesh,’ which represents the religious public in the WZO, as a political and ideological enemy and is trying to weaken it. They aimed to sway public opinion in the charedi world to harm Eretz HaKodesh and prevent its success in the U.S. elections.”

Beyond the shock and the audacity to speak in the names of Gedolei Yisrael and use their names on posters, the path they chose raises legal questions, possibly even slander violations and more.

It’s also clear they attempted to conceal their involvement. Dr. Yizhar Hess himself retweeted the posters, as if expressing solidarity with Eretz HaKodesh in the face of attacks—despite the fact that the posters were funded by the very organization he sits on the board of and helps lead.

Kikar HaShabbat also revealed that these posters are just the tip of a years-long influence campaign, in which the Conservative Movement has sought to sway key figures in the charedi public in order to damage Eretz HaKodesh.

Sources say the movement’s representatives approached charedi journalists, offering them large sums to promote anti-voting messages—falsely attributing them to the words of leading rabbis.

Most of these journalists declined once they understood the real identity of the backers.

One senior figure in the charedi media (whose name remains confidential) told Kikar HaShabbat:
“A well-known insider approached me some time ago with a vague, high-paying offer to join a campaign aimed at damaging Eretz HaKodesh through ads, media pieces, and social media. The strategy was to implant the notion that Eretz HaKodesh is trying to inject Zionism into the charedi sector, and to stoke opposition among more extreme factions.”

After a thorough investigation, he realized the campaign was entirely operated by the Conservative Movement, whose goal was to remove Eretz HaKodesh to further their own agenda in Israel. He declined to participate, despite the tempting offer.

Another prominent source in the  charedi PR world added that major players in mainstream Israeli media were also involved, using their connections to recruit charedi journalists for the long-term campaign against Eretz HaKodesh.

This wasn’t an isolated incident, but rather a structured and calculated campaign that may have crossed the line legally—potentially involving libel, illegal NGO funding, and election law violations.

Kikar HaShabbat reached out for responses from the Conservative Movement’s Merkaz Olami, Dr. Yizhar Hess (who declined to comment in a private conversation), and Eretz HaKodesh. As of now, no responses have been received, and they will be published if and when they are.
