"Groiser Rebbe" From Ramat Beit Shemesh & Montreal Charged with incest

A Canadian rabbi has been arrested by Peel Regional Police and is now charged with three counts of sex crimes against a minor, dating back to 1997.

Rabbi Shlomo Leib Mund, 79, was picked up on an arrest warrant by the police at Toronto’s Pearson airport on April 13, when he flew from his home in Israel to spend Passover with one of his children.

Rabbi Mund has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a victim under 16 years of age, and incest.

The victim, now an adult, can’t be named due to a court-ordered publication ban on his or her identity. He or she went to police in Montreal two years ago, where the alleged attack happened some 25 years ago.

Rabbi Mund was taken to Montreal where he spent a day in jail. He was released on bail under strict conditions to not contact the victim, and to remain at the house of one of his sons, Philip Mund, a Toronto real estate professional. The rabbi also cannot leave the country.

“Honestly, I don’t really have any specific hope for the outcome of what this is,” said the victim, in an interview with The CJN Daily. “But just that he’s arrested and that the word will go out and the victims will have a chance to speak up is enough for me… I don’t know if justice will ever be served for him, but that’s not really anything I could control.”

Rabbi Mund’s lawyer, Jessy Heroux, said his client would not be making any statements, except that he intends to defend himself against the charges.

“Mr. Mund categorically denies the allegations,” Heroux said in an email.

Reform Rabbis Give a big "Kabalas Panim" to Mansor Abbas

Workers of the "Light Rail" beat the hell out of Chassidishe protestors.

The protestors forgot that these guys are workers who need to make a living.

Were R' Chaim Kaneivski's Signature Forged for the last 5 years?

Who signed all the hundreds of "psaks" from R' Chaim Kanievsky z"l in the last 5 years? Was it R' Chaim?

Because his grandchildren wanting a chunk of the inheritance worth millions, ran to Bais Din stating that R' Chaim z"l wasn't in the right frame of mind for the last 5 years and couldn't possibly make a decision on who will inherit him.

This claim if true, is very scary! Because that means all those close to him knew the situation very well and exploited him. They dragged him to events knowing full well that he wasn't well. For five years!

I witnessed one event myself, a rally in Yerushalyim  to get the vote out a day before elections. I was stuck in heavy traffic in Yerushalyim and couldn't figure out what was going on. I asked people who were rushing to a large square what was going on. They told me about the rally and that R' Chaim just arrived. I pulled over to the nearest parking spot I could and walked quickly to the rally where there were already thousands waiting.

Suddenly R' Chaim z"l appeared and you cannot imagine the excitement in the air. R' Chaim was escorted to the dais where there were many "gedoilim" sitting.

Suddenly the entire crowd heard what I heard!

As they introduced him, he asked on an open mike ..."vus tooh ich do?" "what am I doing here?" then he innocently asked "vus iz dus" "what is this?"

And of course, this was his entire speech. Lucky for the crowd, most don't understand Yiddish! Standing next to me was a Yeshivish guy, who asked me if I understand Yiddish? And when I replied in the affirmative, he asked if I can translate what R' Chaim just said.

I really didn't want to disappoint him, a sincere looking guy that was there to drink in every single word of R' Chaim's wisdom, so I told him that R' Chaim just said "Go Vote".

I myself had a one on one with R' Chaim z"l four years ago and believe me it took a lot of "protekzia" to get in, I needed pull from a friend of mine who lives in Monsey. I will not go into what happened, but it was bizarre and till today I really don't know what really occurred. But I was thrilled to have had the merit to see him and shake his hand, after all he was a giant in Torah and Righteousness, I didn't take that lightly, but I was traumatized to put it mildly.

I am angry at his immediate family who would said things in his name and said it was "ruach ha'koidesh"

Now I am wondering? Did he really want the crowd to go out and vote? Did he really want everyone including children to get the vaccine?

What really happened?

When Covid hit full force and there was a total lockdown in Israel, the Chevra Kadisha was overwhelmed as people were dropping dead like flies in Bnei-Brak, and yet they said that R' Chaim ruled that Yeshivois remain open. There was a video long since removed where you see the chief of police visiting him and pleading with him to close them. On the video you clearly hear R' Chaim asking the Chief what was going on? Yeshivos were then ordered closed by "Reb Chaim z"l"

Did he initially order Yeshivois to be open, and then after being informed that there was a plague, ordered them shut? If he had ruach ha'koidesh, how didn't he know about the plague?

When did he find out? Was it before he instructed the Yeshivois to remain open?

Was it really him or was it Yanki, his grandchild?

Will we ever know?

There is however, one thing we know for sure, that his own grandchildren are arguing in Bais Din that R' Chaim  was in "no frame of mind to make decisions for 5 years."

Hasidic boys like mine don’t receive the education they deserve

Beatrice Weber

by Beatrice Weber

In September 2019, almost 1,000 days ago, I filed a complaint with New York City and Yeshiva Mesivta Arugath Habosem, alleging that my youngest son, who was 6 years old at the time, was not receiving a secular education as required by NYS law.

The New York Supreme Court this past week finally confirmed [https://forward.com/fast-forward/505315/state-supreme-court-sides-with-mother-in-dispute-over-sons-yeshiva-education] what I’ve known all along: The Education Department is not following up on complaints that the Hasidic yeshivas are failing to provide a secular education, but instead is giving parents the runaround.

I am a mother of 10 children, six of them boys, all of whom have attended Hasidic yeshivas where they receive six hours of instruction in basic English and math a week at best, for just five of their elementary school years.

Israel cancels youth trips to Poland for Holocaust programs

Israel cancelled this summer’s youth trips to Poland amid a disagreement over security arrangements for the trips on Wednesday.

An initial Israeli announcement also cited Polish interference in the educational content, but Israel’s Walla News subsequently reported that an unspecified compromise was reached.

“It has been decided at this time that the activities of the youth delegations to Poland will be frozen,” said the Education Ministry in a message to some 7,000 students who already booked travel arrangements.

According to Hebrew media reports, the Polish government is not allowing Shin Bet security guards accompanying the students to carry weapons. In previous years, the guards were permitted to carry guns on Polish soil.

Polish officials have not commented on the matter.

Stacy Abrams the Governor Dem nominee funnels thousands to Terrorists and Encourages Violence Against Jews

Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams sits on the board of a foundation that funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to an anti-Israel activist who has praised terrorists and encouraged violence against Jews.

Abrams joined the Marguerite Casey Foundation board in May 2021, business filings show. Roughly six months later, the foundation announced its 2021 cohort of “Freedom Scholars,” a group of “leading thinkers and scholars … in critical fields including abolitionist, Black, feminist, queer, radical, and anti-colonialist studies.”

Included in the group was UCLA professor Robin D.G. Kelley, a leading Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) activist who works with groups that collaborate with Palestinian terrorists.

Kelley, who received $250,000 through the program, praised the Palestine Liberation Organization—a U.S.-designated terror group—as “revolutionary combatants” and “models for those of us dedicated to Black liberation and socialism” in a 2016 article.

Three years prior, Kelley encouraged Palestinians to use violence against Israelis, calling the notion that Palestinians should only protest non-violently a “bludgeon to beat down Palestinian organizations.” Kelley also advises

German Court rules that the Pig Statue on a Church which depicts a Jew will have to remain

Germany’s top court ruled on Tuesday that a medieval antisemitic sculpture can stay on the facade of a church in the eastern town of Wittenberg, rejecting an appeal by a Jewish plaintiff who has for years argued it is an insult to all Jews.

The 13th century “Judensau” or “Jew Sow” on the town church depicts a caricature of a rabbi lifting the tail of a sow and two Jewish children suckle on the teats.

Pigs are considered unclean in Judaism. At a time when politicians are warning about rising antisemitism in Germany, the ruling is a reminder of widespread anti-Jewish sentiment in the Middle Ages.

Bleich the "fake" chief rabbi in Ukraine who lives in Monsey denies sexual misconduct allegations

The main organization representing British Jews has suspended its ties with the European Jewish Congress over unspecified “misconduct” allegations against the Congress’ treasurer, Yaakov Dov Bleich, a chief rabbi of Ukraine.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews announced the move on Twitter May 31 without naming Bleich. In the tweet, the group said the EJC did not respond satisfactorily to “misconduct allegations,” whose exact nature has not been reported in the media or specified by the Board.

Bleich, who has been featured in news coverage of the war in Ukraine, has denied all allegations against him, Haaretz reported on Tuesday.

“Anyone in public life, over five to six years, you’re going to make changes, especially at my age, where I am less active,” Bleich told Haaretz. “If you come with something concrete, OK, but everybody who investigated said there’s nothing concrete behind these allegations.”

EU Unconditionally Restores PA Funding

Almost all of the EU member states- 26 out of 27 EU states – voted in favor of the decision to resume financial support for the Palestinian Authority (PA), which was suspended two years ago. In doing so the EU backed down on its demands for new measures that it had insisted be taken by the PA for a renewal of funding.

The EU will now unconditionally renew its financial support to the PA. About 80% of this support is allocated to projects, hospitals and aid, while 20% of the funds will be transferred directly to the PA’s coffers.

Sources told TPS that the support amounts to 250 million euros ($260 million) per year, and it is expected that the full amount will be transferred in the coming months.

The reasons for the original suspension of the funding revolved around three issues and conditions that the EU and the PA had disagreed on:

  • The Palestinian school curriculum and the requirement that it change in the way that it refers to Israel, among other education issues.
  • The EU’s demand that the PA cease all payments or salaries to the families of the terrorists either held prisoner in Israel or who were killed or wounded while undertaking acts of terrorism.
  • The continued payment by the PA of the salaries for government workers in the Gaza Strip, which the EU opposes.

The Europeans, however, have now withdrawn all of their demands and so the PA will be free to continue to finance the families of terrorists and the Hamas government in Gaza.

'They're waiting to kill you at the hotel' Israelis in Turkey Warned

A group of Israeli tourists who went on vacation in Turkey recently have received a phone call from a senior member of the Israeli intelligence community instructing them to return to Israel immediately, Channel 13 News reported.

The official told the tourists that they could not even return to the hotel, as Iranian assassins were waiting for them at the hotel to murder them, and informed them that, at that moment, someone would be sent to take them to the Istanbul airport to return to Israel.

A friend of a woman who received the ominous warning told Channel 13 News: "On Friday afternoon, she was asked to stay exactly where she was, in the market area and in no uncertain terms not to return to the hotel. An armored vehicle arrived with ten Israeli security guards who accompanied them and travelled with them to the airport. They got on the flight, while all their luggage and belongings stayed at the hotel."

"When they landed in Israel they were taken straight to interrogation and asked who they had spoken to and where they had been. A real serious interrogation," the friend said. "And when they tried to figure out what had happened, it was explained to them that [the assassins] were just waiting for them at the hotel. She is in shock and unable to speak."

The defense establishment believes that there are Iranian squads scattered throughout Turkey, but the focus is on Istanbul, with an emphasis on Israeli tourists, so on Monday the Counter-Terrorism Bureau announced the travel warning level to Istanbul would be raised to Level 4, which is the highest level.

2 US Senators, 4 Congress Members Condemn ‘The Mapping Project’ that is planning a US "Krystalnacht"

US Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Edward J. Markey (D-MA) this weekend roundly condemned “The Mapping Project” – a detailed graphic aimed at illustrating all entities believed by its progressive creators to pose a threat to their version of society as they want it to be.

The project was created by a Boston-area pro-Palestinian Authority activist collective aligned with the international Boycott, Divest & Sanctions (BDS) economic war on Israel, one that is not only antisemitic but appears clearly dedicated to total anarchy.

“At this moment of rising anti-Semitism, racist attacks, and political violence, this ‘mapping’ of the Jewish community is dangerous and irresponsible. We strongly condemn anti-Semitism and will continue working for the safety of all vulnerable people at home and abroad,” Warren and Markey said in their statement issued Friday (June 10).

Complete Betrayal At Fox News

Fox News highlighted the story Friday of a biological girl whose family encouraged her to identify as a boy, as part of its “America Together: LGBTQ+ Pride Month” series.

The video would be absolute despicable insane lunacy if I saw it on CNN or MSNBC.

To see it on Fox News is a complete betrayal of anything remotely resembling conservatism or decency.

Every element of this video is propagandistic, dangerous garbage. The report states that this biologically female child was choosing her gender before she could speak

That is madness.

The report further states that Ryland’s parents began social transition at the age of five.

This is child abuse. The vast majority of children who display signs of gender dysphoria desist over time.

The report is absolute, horrifying propaganda.

Why is the Aguda and the entire Chareidie media Silent on Gerer Pogroms? Are the Moetzes Ha'gdolah frightened?

** This article was written right after the events it discusses, and its translation to English was only published three weeks later. In the interim, it is important to highlight those brave yet very few Rabbinic leaders who did condemn the violence, and in particular the Viznitz & Stoliner Rebbes.

The violence that broke on Charedi streets three weeks ago Shabbos terrified everyone. How, then, can we ‎explain the deafening public silence that followed? The lies not in indifference and ‎nihilism, but in our neglect of the public square.‎

Friday night. Hundreds of rioters gathered outside the doorstheir cries clearly heard inside the Shul. Children clung to their parents, seeking shelter. Helpless adults recited Tehillim in helpless panic. One door is torn down, then another. Rioters unleash their fury, smashing furniture and hurling holy books to the floor, tearing them to shreds. An eight-year-old child looks up at his father and sees his head covered in blood. Nobody knows how the terror will end. After minutes that seem like an eternity, the prayers are answered and baton-carrying officers show up. Ranks of helmet-bearers divide between persecutor and persecuted.

This is not a quote from the annals of a Jewish community sometime in the distant past. The events described, without any exaggeration, happened in our own times. Moreover, they did not occur in some distant land but here, in the heart of Jerusalem. The events noted above are a very partial description of the pogroms of Bechukosai 5782.

On the nineteenth of Iyyar, the night before we read the Admonition of the “vengeful sword,” three years of wild incitement, separations between families, harassment of children, tire slashing, and myriad other methods of oppression reached their climax. The time to reap the fruits of hatred had arrived. Thousands of Gerrer Chassidim in several concentrations across Israel hit the streets on a mission: to beat, smash, and shatter the bodies and property of members of the seceding community, those who dared to follow the leadership of Rav Shaul Alter. The attack was not sporadic or coincidental; the incited masses were acting on the explicit instruction of Ger leadership.

Young men alongside venerable rabbis were beaten and wounded. Under the cover of an ostensible “peaceful protest,” rioters ran into the Shuls of the Pnei Menachem community, ransacking, beating, and wrecking all they saw in a violent rampage. From there, the campaign of destruction continued to private homes, where it was the women’s turn to suffer the wrath of the assailants. Fearing for their very lives, mothers called the police in the middle of Shabbos to save them. All this took place in the view of the public eye—in Jerusalem and in Bnei Brak, in Ashdod and in Beit Shemesh. Kollel students were ambushed, some suffering grievous injury; Rabbis were struck by naked fists. Ultimately, thousands of young men and Kollel students ran rampant for close to forty-eight hours, their eyes burning with hatred, letting their violent urges loose on their victims.

A Chilling Silence

Reflections On the Revolution in Gur

The struggle within Gur reflects a deep-set divide over community values: does the community service the individual or does the individual serve the community? In this sense, the dispute has significance far beyond the borders of Gur and offers a sense of direction for Charedi society as a whole.

The turmoil of Shabbos Bechukosa – a spate of violence that erupted in four major Charedi cities – has long subsided. The majority of Charedi society, multitudes who heard of the sordid affair from friends, acquaintances, or digital media channels, continued to live their lives as usual. Some were certainly shocked by the anomalous events on the Charedi street, yet the moral indignation did not last long. “After all,” people told themselves, “these are internal affairs of a closed Chassidic court; it’s not our business.”

In the following lines, I wish to argue that there is much more at stake than an internal struggle within Gur. The struggle, in fact, is between two conflicting mindsets, two distinct visions of how Charedi society ought to look. It is relevant for us all, even those who are ostensibly far from the front lines of the Chassidic unrest.

The “Gur revolution” is a breakaway more than a revolution, and the violence, in contrast with the French revolution alluded to in the title, has been perpetrated by the old guard rather than the new. Yet, there remains something of a revolutionary spirit about it. Certainly, it is worthy of reflection.

Leader of Jerusalem cult found dead in prison cell

Women from the Ambash cult speak with reporters at the Knesset as they arrive to present their electoral slate to the Central Elections Committee on August 1, 2019.

A polygamous cult leader was found dead in his cell at the Ayalon Prison in Ramle on Friday morning, the Israel Prisons Service said.

Paramedics that were rushed to the scene declared Daniel Ambash dead after resuscitation efforts had failed.

The prisons service says Ambash’s family was informed of his death and that the circumstances would be examined.

In 2013, Ambash was sentenced to 26 years in prison on 18 charges ranging from sexual offenses, abuse of minors, incarceration and sadistic violence in what has been described as one of the most shocking abuse cases in the country’s history.

He was slated to be freed in 2037. According to Channel 12 news, the parole board had been due to convene next week to deliberate Ambash’s request for an early release.

A Bratslav ultra-Orthodox Jew, Ambash headed what came to be known as the “Jerusalem cult.” He was married to six wives and had 14 children, who were all kept by Ambash and his assistants in slavery conditions, forcibly confined and routinely punished with rape, electric shocks and beatings.

According to the court ruling, on one occasion, Ambash took one of his wives outside the house, naked, in the middle of the night, and splashed water on her and dragged her by the hair. In another incident, he shoved the head of one of his wives into the toilet and flushed it as she suffocated.

He also raped his daughter on another occasion in front of his whole family, including several children, claiming it was “part of her duty in family life.”

The case was exposed in 2011 after one of Ambash’s wives spoke out about what was happening in the cult.

But most of his wives have never renounced Ambash. They still live together, view themselves as his wives and revere him, claiming the entire case against him was fabricated.

In 2018, four of them demanded that Israel grant them conjugal visits, claiming it was their “basic right” to meet Ambash and have more kids with him.

The request was largely denied, with the prisons service noting that the women are considered victims of an offense by the law and that their request was therefore invalid, according to the Walla news site. Ambash had appealed the decision.

The Israel Prisons Service also charged that Ambash was “taking advantage of his rights as a prisoner and maintaining control of his cult via phone calls.”

In 2019, the four wives officially registered as a political party to run in that year’s September elections, running on a political platform that advocated for individual freedom.

“We believe that if the Torah gives people the ability to choose their own life, the state has no place to intervene and prevent that. And we will fight for that right,” Ayelet Ambash, one of the four wives, said at the time, in an apparent reference to polygamous marriage.

Their party, Kama, which aimed to prevent government intervention in Israelis’ private lives, fell well short of the minimum vote total required to enter the Knesset.

Two More Iranian aerospace scientists die under mysterious circumstances

Mohammad Abdous,

Two Iranian aerospace scientists died under mysterious circumstances just hours apart, according to reports by the state-controlled Fars outlet Monday.

On Sunday, Ali Kamani, a scientist who worked for the Iranian air force’s aerospace unit, was reportedly killed in a car crash in Khomein.

Iran’s Tasnim outlet hinted that the crash may not have been an accident, calling Kamani a “martyr” who died during a “mission to protect” Iran.

A day later, Fars reported that a second aerospace engineer working for the Iranian air force was killed while on a mission an air base in Semnan in northern Iran.

The second engineer was identified as Mohammad Abdous, who was reportedly working on the Iranian air force’s satellite program, drone aircraft, and ballistic missiles.

The Fars’ report did not elaborate on the circumstances of Abdous’ demise.

The two deaths follow a string of high-profile deaths of both Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps officers and Iranian scientists linked to the military’s aerospace unit.

Last month, Colonel Hassan Sayyad Khodaei, a member of the IRGC's Quds Force in Syria, was shot dead outside of his Tehran home.

A second officer, Colonel Ali Esmailzadeh was found dead days later at his home.

In early June, Iranian missile engineer Ayoob Entezari was found dead in Yazd. According to some reports, Enterzari died after attending a dinner party. The host of the party allegedly fled the country shortly thereafter.

Israel has the highest population growth rate in the Western world

The Israeli real estate market will continue to climb in spite of inflation. 7 thoughts 👇

1. Simple supply and demand economics. In 2021 there were 63,000 construction starts, compared to at least 100,000 construction starts that the market needs to meet demand (according to the CEO of the Israeli Builders Association). True, you can take this number with a grain of salt but (see number 2 ...)

2. Israel has the highest population growth rate in the Western world. With over 3 children per mother on average, and with almost 40% of the population aged under 18, the next 20 years there will see many more singles, young couples and families that will need housing. And this without taking into account new immigrants and returning residents

3. The percentage of renters stands at 34%. That means 66% of the population are homeowners. In times of economic crisis (or in times of rising interest rates), investors are more available to sell investment assets. In contrast, homeowners who live in their own property will fight to keep it under their ownership. This means that only a third of the properties in the country may be sold for financial reasons only

4. Competition from investors abroad. There is no shortage of foreign investors vying for Israeli property, whether as holiday homes, investments or future residence - especially in high-demand real estate markets (Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Netanya, Herzliya)

5. Extremely low mortgage risk in Israeli property market. The 2008 US real estate crisis occurred due to massive mortgage default in which people purchased real estate beyond their financial means due to extremely liberal mortgage terms on the part of the banks. Not here - Israeli banks minimize risk by demanding 30% down payments

6. Historical proof. In the last 40 years, the average price of an apartment in Israel has never dropped. At times the growth rate slowed, but the trend was always been on the rise. True, this provides no indication on the future but by comparison, the stock market's flagship index, the S&P 500, collapsed 6 times in that same period

7. Supply chain crisis driving up the price of construction materials. The war in Ukraine, the economic effects of the Corona, a decline in output of China's export market - all these and more have led to a spike in the price of basic raw materials. This drives up the price of building new buildings - regardless of the fluctuation in land prices

Israeli firm develops radar which can ‘see’ through walls

Israel-based Camero-Tech company developed a next-generation portable, high-performance imaging system that can ‘see’ through walls.

According to a press release from Camero-Tech, it is launching the Xaver 1000 – the new generation of the company’s product line that offers unprecedented operational capabilities to military forces, law enforcement agencies, Intelligence units, and first responders.

The Xaver 1000 has an AI-based tracking algorithm of live targets and its own 3D ‘Sense-Through-The-Wall’ capability, enabling it to detect and ‘see’ people or static objects behind walls and obstacles. Live objects can be seen in high resolution down to the level of specific body parts. This includes whether an object is sitting, standing or lying down, even after they have been stationary for a long period of time.

The system also enables users to measure the height of objects and decide whether they are adults, children, or animals, resulting in a clear operational advantage and the ability to ‘step into the known’.

Operatable by a single user and ready for use with the push of a button, the Xaver 1000 is optimized for tactical and ISR operations, making this an essential system for military, law enforcement, search and rescue teams and intelligence units operating in various situations, including hostile urban environments and of natural disaster sites.

“The XaverTM 1000 determines the most suitable approach to ensure successful life-saving missions in a variety of operational scenarios, such as hostage rescue situations,” says Amir Beeri, CEO and founder of Camero. “A high-resolution 3D view and other powerful tools of the system provide an exceptional level of situational awareness. Being able to achieve a high level of sensitivity, the Xaver™ 1000 is a true game-changer for special forces and law enforcement teams conducting urban and rural operations that require reliable information regarding hidden live objects.”

The Xaver 1000 is controlled by an embedded 10.1’’ touchscreen display with a simple user interface for intuitive interpretation. The display also features easy menu navigation and integrated data recording and playback for post-mission analysis, training and debriefing. Completely radiation safe, the system meets human exposure international standards.

US to lift negative COVID test requirement for air travelers

The Biden administration announced on Friday that it will remove the requirement for travelers to test negative for COVID-19 before entering the U.S.

The change will take place for air travelers entering the U.S. at midnight on Sunday, CNN reported.

The CDC decided the restrictions were no longer necessary after the travel industry asked for the rule change for the last few months, advocating that the measure was not needed “based on the science and data,” a senior administration source told CNN.

The restriction went into effect during early 2021, put in place by the Trump administration and then expanded by the Biden administration. It required air travelers entering the U.S., including American citizens, to provide a negative COVID-19 test before getting onto planes. U.S. land boarder crossings were not included in the regulation.

The measure was harming travel demand, the airline and travel industry had been telling the administration, pushing for the rule to be lifted. Politicians from both parties had been urging the administration to remove the requirement, saying it was not longer necessary and was negatively impacting the hospitality industry.

The CDC said that it will examine the move in three months in order to determine if it needs to be reinstated, according to CNBC.
