According to the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, an estimated one-and-a-half million people visited the Western Wall Plaza during the month of Elul, which precedes the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur holidays, and the ten days in between the Jewish new year and Jewish day of atonement.
“The great flood of people during the past month to the Western Wall Plaza during all hours of the day brought together people from all different groups and backgrounds – religious and non-religious, young and old – testifies to the deep ties all different groups in Israel have to the Western Wall and to Jewish tradition,” the Western Wall Heritage Foundation said in a statement.

The blessings of Yom Kippur upon our Jewish neighbors!
It may seem unusual for a Catholic cardinal-archbishop to be so mindful of this particular Jewish holy day. And yet the Jewish Day of Atonement has always had a special resonance for me. While I respect the religious observances of all faiths practiced in this great and diverse metropolis, this one, for me, is particularly inspiring.
During my happy years as a young parish priest, I often heard my pastor counsel the couples he was preparing for matrimony. He told them: “The six essential words you must repeat often if your married life is to be faithful, and forever, are ‘I love you,’ and ‘I am sorry.’ ”
Wise advice, and if I understand this moving holy day our Jewish community commences at sundown Tuesday, those are the six words they will profess to the Lord, individually and communally.
We owe the Jews a lot, especially those of us who profess to be Christian. As Thomas Cahill observed in his book “How the Jews Saved Civilization,” before the people of Israel, ancient humanity pictured their gods as ruthless, vindictive, punishing. No use confessing sorrow to them, because mercy wasn’t a characteristic of those strange gods. Sure, you could try to bribe them or buy them off, but forgiveness? Forget about it!

Moish Halberstam Get Refuser Gets Protests in Front of his House!
The couple separated in October 2012 and their civil divorce was finalized in December 2017.
Moish has refused to give Esther an unconditional Get (bill of Jewish Divorce) for over 6 and a half years.
Esther is an agunah, a woman chained to a dead marriage.
The Agudas HaRabbonim D’Artzot HaBrit V’Canada issued multiple seruvim (Orders of Contempt) stating that Moish Halberstam is refusing to give Esther a Get.
In 2014, Agudas HaRabbonim D’Artzot HaBrit V’Canada issued a psak (ruling) that Moish Halberstam is obligated to give a Get.
Moish currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.

This is Yigal Sagi. He left Israel in 2009, leaving his wife Sarit an aguna – a woman chained to marriage. About six years ago, she agreed to send the children to him for a short summer visit – and since then she has not seen them.
Although the couple lived as secular Jews in Israel, since leaving Israel Yigal has become entrenched in a religious Brooklyn community and has become observant.
The children – who left Israel thinking they would return to their everyday lives in a month – apparently now study in ultra-Orthodox institutions.
Sarit, who suffered a stroke shortly after learning that the children wouldn't be returning, required a long rehabilitation, and to this day has still not been able to see them, in spite of a number of attempts.

Eliot Engel Actively Supporting Hamas Murderers by "watering down anti-Hamas" Bill in Congress

An anti-Hamas bill has been severely watered down by Congressman Eliot Engel. It’s a turn of events that should trouble every supporter of Israel.
The New York Post claimed this week that Engel (D-NY), the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, agreed to change the bill after heavy pressure from Qatar and the Palestinian Authority (PA).
At the same time, Engel or his representatives held seven meetings this past spring with lobbyists for the PA, apparently to discuss the bill.
The Qataris didn’t like the fact that the bill mentioned Qatar’s massive financial support for Hamas. The PA didn’t like the fact that it would have penalized regimes—like the PA—that assist Hamas in various ways.
So the bill, which was authored by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Florida), was changed.

Pope Unveils Sculpture in St Peter’s Square, Includes a Chassid
A new, 20-foot tall bronze sculpture dubbed “Angels Unaware” was unveiled by Pope Francis on Sunday, which marked Michaelmas (the feast of archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel), in a special Mass for refugees held in St. Peter’s Square. The pope was accompanied by Canadian artist Timothy Schmalz and four refugees.

Jewish Boy Forced to Kiss the Shoe of a Muslim Savage in Melbourne
A 12-year-old Jewish student was forced to kneel down and kiss the shoes of a Muslim classmate, while a five-year-old boy was allegedly called a “Jewish cockroach” and repeatedly hounded over having a “Bris Mila”.
The two incidents this year – the first involving a boy at Cheltenham Secondary College and the second one a student at Hawthorn West Primary School – have prompted the Anti-Defamation Commission to sound an alarm about what it says is a “rapidly spreading” crisis i
The boy’s act of kissing another student’s shoes, under threat of being swarmed by several other boys, was filmed, photographed and shared on social media.
No disciplinary action has been taken against the group of boys involved in the incident, which took place in a public park.
The school and the department have denied having responsibility for the incident, because it did not take place on school grounds.
One of the boys who watched on was later suspended for five days for assaulting the Jewish student in the school locker room.
The Jewish boy was punched in the face and left with a bruised back and had skin gouged out of his shoulder.
Meanwhile, a the mother of a five-year-old boy at Hawthorn West Primary said her son was repeatedly taunted and laughed at over his “Bris Mila”, to the point where he began to wet himself in class rather than go to the bathroom.
The mother said one of the most disturbing aspects of the other children’s insults was anti-Semitic language used such as the words ‘you dirty Jew’ and ‘Jewish cockroach’
