Palestinians Refuse Entry to Israeli Officer Wearing Kippah on OUR Har Ha'Bayis

Scuffles broke out at the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday after guards at the mosque refused to allow an Israeli policeman to enter for a routine security check because he was wearing a Jewish skullcap known as a kippah, a Palestinian official said.

Firas Dibs, a spokesman for the Islamic authority that oversees the site, says dozens of worshippers scuffled with police after the guards closed the doors to the mosque and barricaded themselves inside. He says the director of the mosque was lightly wounded.

Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said police “prevented any disturbances from taking place” after local residents closed the doors of the mosque and prevented officers from entering. He said the doors were opened a few hours later and that police detained five people for questioning.

Dibs said police carry out routine security checks every morning, and that the policeman was only prevented from entering because he was wearing a kippah. The Palestinians have long feared that Israel plans to take over the site so it can rebuild the Temple, allegations denied by the Israeli government, which says it has no plans to change the status quo.

Bunch of Shvartzah Hooligans Beat the Crap Out Of Frum 19 year old in Crown Heights

Police are investigating an attack on a Jewish man in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn as a possible hate crime.

The brutal beatdown occurred on Empire Boulevard near Schenectady Avenue at around 9:00PM on Motzei Shabbos. The 19-year-old victim told police that he was minding his own business and walking down the street when he was suddenly accosted by a group of black males.

“Do you want to fight?” he was asked by one of the suspects.

Before the man could respond or run, he was punched in the face, thrown to the ground, and slugged another five times in the face before the violent gang fled on foot. The man took out his phone to call for help, but the gang returned and said “are you calling police on us”? and began kicking him and punching him as he lay on the ground. They eventually fled.

Crown Heights Hatzolah along with Shomrim were dispatched immediately to the scene.

The man suffered facial trauma and was taken to a local hospital.

Shomrim along with the NYPD have reportedly secured footage of the attack which has been turned over to the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force who are investigating the incident.

A Lakewood father awoke during the night to hear his 4-week-old infant screaming, and then suddenly stopping. The father ran to the door of the newborns bedroom, where he listened from outside. he heard silence, and then suddenly heard shrieking.

The mother barged into the room to find their nanny standing over the the child with a pillow on her face.

The mother yelled “what are you doing”?!

The nurse responded “it’s not what it looks like”.

The husband ordered the woman out of his home during the night, and offered to drive her to a bus station.

The woman came from a reputable agency that provides live-in nannies. The agency is investigating the incident.

Authorities have identified the victims of an apparent double murder in the capital, less than a day after the victims’ remains were recovered from their apartment.

Police and emergency teams discovered the couple dead on Sunday, with signs of violence on the bodies which police said made it clear the two had been murdered.

On Monday, police identified the victims as Yehuda 71, and Tamar Kaduri 68.

The discovery was made after relatives of the couple became concerned after they were unable to reach them by phone for several days. Relatives say that since Thursday they had not spoken with the Kaduris.

Police suspect that the couple were slain on Thursday – a day after a stabbing attack at a nearby bus stop.

During the attack, a 15-year-old girl was wounded by a man she described as being of “Arabic appearance”. She was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in light-to-moderate condition.

While police have refused to divulge details from the investigation, saying only that “all directions” were being examined, some neighbors have expressed concern that the double homicide may have been an act of terror perpetrated by the terrorist involved in the bus stop stabbing.

Investigators say the two victims in the apartment were stabbed, but that the cause of death did not appear to be the stab wounds, with other “signs of violence” found on the bodies.

On this daf we learn an interesting rule that a "person cannot prohibit something that is not his even through a significant and complete act."

For example:

A person goes and worships a puddle of water that accumulated at the edge of a lake...... the halacha is that he has not rendered the puddle of water unfit for use ....even though he worshipped the water as an idol.

Why?

Because the water was not his ...

If, on the other hand, he took some of the water in the palms of his hand ... then the halacha is that he has now acquired that water for himself and if he bows down to the water in his hand ... it is considered an idol, an Avoda Zara, and the water is prohibited for use ...

Another example:

Someone decides to take his neighbor's animal and slaughters it for the sake of his idol .... the halacha is that the animal can be eaten ... why? The animal wasn't his. He can only render the animal unfit for consumption, if he slaughtered his own animal for the sake of an idol.

An upstate mom and dad were charged Wednesday with binding their daughter with duct tape and forcing her into the back of their car on the Lower East Side.

Menachem and Rachel Cohen, of Monticello, pleaded not guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court to second-degree assault, coercion, unlawful imprisonment and other charges.

They were arrested on Feb. 25, 2018, after witnesses reported to police that they saw Rachel struggling in the car with the 19-year-old, who was not identified in court papers.
She was duct taped around her wrists, ankles and mouth, the papers said.

The couple allegedly told responding officers that their daughter has a mental disorder and needed treatment. EMS transported her to Bellevue Hospital’s psychiatric ward.

Personally? I think Spirit is a crappy airline and you get what you pay for .... Having said this .... I side with the airline in this respect for many reasons ....

#1 Spirit is a "no-frills" airline .... that means nothing on board except for a small carry on ... it is written "be'feirish" on the website..... Anyone that has travelled with them ... knows this.. that's why you paid $10.00 approx for your ticket ..

An Orthodox Jewish family from New York was escorted off of a Spirit Airlines flight this week and banned from the airline for life following a heated dispute, which allegedly included anti-Semitic slurs, over a child safety seat.

According to a press release from the office of recently retired New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, the incident occurred this Tuesday on an early-morning Spirit Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

A Jewish couple, identified as Chani and Yisroel from Boro Park, Brooklyn, traveling with their three small children – ages 3, 2, and 1-month - say the trouble began when a flight attendant spotted them with a dual-purpose baby seat and car seat.

The family says that the gate agent at Newark had told the couple that they would be able to take the dual-purpose seat onto the flight.

Israel inaugurated a new highway in the Judea/Samaria on Thursday that features a large concrete wall segregating Israeli and Palestinian traffic.

One side of Route 4370 — located northeast of Jerusalem — will be open to Israeli vehicles only, while the other half will only be open to Palestinian traffic. Critics have branded it an “apartheid” highway, saying it is part of a segregated road system that benefits Jewish settlers.

The highway was built as part of a planned ring road east of Jerusalem that would connect the northern and southern West Bank. Construction began in 2005, but the 5-kilometer (3-mile) road lay unfinished for years until 2017.

Israeli officials inaugurating the new road on Wednesday touted it as a means of better connecting West Bank settlements north of Jerusalem to the city.

Israeli Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan called the highway “an example of the ability to create coexistence between Israelis and Palestinian while guarding (against) the existing security challenges.”

The Palestinian Authority said in a statement that the “apartheid” road “poses a challenge to the credibility of the international community.”

“It’s a shame on the international community to see an apartheid regime being established and deepened without doing anything to stop it.”

“American Jews and Israeli Jews Are Headed for a Messy Breakup,” a column by Jonathan Weisman announced in the New York Times earlier this week. He’s probably right. But only “probably.” The relationship does not have to crash, if both sides can acknowledge the profound ways in which the world’s two largest Jewish communities are profoundly different, and cease imposing their own worldview on the other.

To heal this rift, both sides are going to need to accept that we are invariably going to continue disappointing each other, because American Judaism and Israeli Judaism are, by this point, very different animals. As I describe in my forthcoming book, We Stand Divided: Competing Visions of Jewishness and the Rift Between American Jews and Israel, they now rest on almost entirely different foundations. One is universal and one particular, one focuses on Judaism as religion while the other sees Judaism as nationality, one largely exempt from the messiness of history, while the other is the product of a movement that expressly sought to restore the Jews as players into the complexities (and ugliness) of history.

Ultimately, both Israel and American Jews will have to change much about their views of and discourse about the other. At this moment, though, I want to focus on the ways in which American Jews need to rethink their discourse about Israel, since this side of the equation was much in evidence both in Weisman’s column and in another piece week, by Peter Beinart, in the Forward.

As part of the IfNotNow-instigated brouhaha about Birthright, Beinart issued a characteristic warning this week: “Birthright Will Fail If It Doesn’t Evolve With Young Jews,” arguing that Birthright trips do not offer a balanced picture of the conflict, which in turn will lead many young American Jews to ignore the program.

Rabbi Berland convicted of sexual offenses has been negotiating his public rehabilitation with Chareidie politicians in exchange for his followers’ political support, according to a television report on Tuesday.

After evading arrest for three years, Eliezer Berland, 80, was sentenced to 18 months in prison in November 2016 on two counts of indecent acts and one case of assault, as part of a plea deal. He was freed after five months, in part due to ill health.

Samual Isaac Farkas Killed falling off a 9th floor balcony on Collins Ave Miami Beach

The Miami Beach Jewish community was shocked to hear of a horrific tragedy which occurred on Tuesday night / Wednesday morning, when a teenage boy was tragically killed.

16-year-old Yitzchak (Sam) Farkas Z”L, was killed after falling off a 9th floor balcony in what police have confirmed was a tragic accident.

Miami Beach Police Department responded to the La Costa condominium complex at 5333 Collins Ave just before 8:00PM, after receiving reports of a person falling off a balcony at that location.

Miami Beach Police and Fire Rescue units arrived at the scene and found a person laying on the floor in traumatic arrest. He expired at the scene.

Yitzchak had arrived home and found his 9th floor apartment door locked with no one home. He proceeded upstairs to the 10th floor neighbor, and asked to come inside. He explained what had happened and went to the balcony to attempt to lower himself down to his balcony below – knowing that he would be able to get into his apartment. Tragically, he fell while trying to lower himself down, and plunged to his death.

Sadly, Yitzchak celebrated his birthday the day of the tragedy.

The Reform Movement has turned most Galut Jews into ethical monotheists - that is, Bnei Noachs

The Reform Movement takes pride in interpreting the Torah in what it considers a more tolerant and open-minded way. Since the mid-19th century this has meant stripping Judaism and Jewish life of ritual commandments.

The end result has been to effectively turn most Diaspora Jews into Noahides. That is, into ethical monotheists.

This appears to be harmless until we remember that according to Judaism, Noahides are supposed to be Gentiles - not Jews!

Jews are meant to be a priestly nation and to take over a more challenging – and rewarding – relationship with God. This allows Jews to serve as a light unto the nations and gradually draw all of humanity towards Biblical morality and the worship of one God.

The number of Israelis living in Judea and Samaria rose to nearly 450,000 during 2018 settler leaders reported Tuesday morning.

According to a report released by the Yesha Council – the umbrella group representing Israeli municipalities across Judea and Samaria – the Israeli population in the area reached 448,672 in 2018.

That marks a significant decline in the annual growth rate of the total settlement population, which grew by just 12,964 people in 2018, equaling 3.0% annual growth, compared to 14,299 in 2017 (3.4%), 15,765 in 2016 (3.9%), 15,617 in 2015 (4.0%), and 15,558 in 2014 (4.2%).

Chuck Schumer Will Block Pro-Israel Bill

Efforts are underway in the US Senate to block a pro-Israel bill in response to the ongoing government shutdown.

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and other Senate Democratic leaders are behind the effort, according to a report by the Washington Examiner on Monday.

The bill is aimed at “allowing state and local governments to divest from entities that boycott, divest from, or sanction Israel because of its occupation of the West Bank.”
