Iran plotting new Oct. 7-style attack against Israel with its terrorist proxies

 

Iran is reportedly gearing up for a new Oct. 7-style attack on Israel as part of a multi-front assault alongside its terrorist proxies in the region, according to Israeli intelligence assessments.

The Islamic Republic is allegedly plotting to repeat Hamas’ barbaric Oct. 7 attacks — which saw more Jews killed in a single day than any time since the Holocaust — but this time with full coordination of their sprawling terrorist network, which includes Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials have sought to revitalize its “Axis of Resistance” terrorist network and have held multiple planning meetings with leaders from Hezbollah, the Houthis and Iraqi militias about an escalation against Israel, the outlet reported.

The IRGC is also conducting joint training exercises with its terrorist proxies and is increasing drone and missile production to replenish their stockpiles that have been exhausted in its wars against Israel and the US ahead of the next campaign, the sources told the publication.

Hezbollah and Hamas have also increased coordination to pressure Israel from multiple fronts, the intelligence indicates.

Iran’s alleged plot to launch a coordinated military strike against Israel from across the region would be the realization of Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar’s ultimate dream, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Israeli intelligence found that Sinwar had hoped that the wider Arab world would join in after he launched his Oct. 7 rampage — which killed 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 250, and left thousands of others wounded or raped.

But Iran and Hezbollah were not given prior notice of the date of the attacks and did not immediately join in the attacks as part of a full ground invasion, the intelligence stated.

Iran is hoping to join forces in its recreation of the horrific attack on Israel.

MKs Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev were left stunned after being formally informed that they will not be included on Degel HaTorah’s Knesset slate in the upcoming election, with associates of the veteran lawmakers claiming that as recently as two weeks ago they were receiving messages from the homes of the Gedolei Yisrael indicating that everything would continue as usual.

Bechadrei Charedim reports that during consultations held by the two MKs toward the end of the week, there was a feeling that they had successfully fended off efforts to remove them. Their associates are now describing what happened as an extraordinary “deception,” arguing that two highly regarded lawmakers who served the party for decades and brought it considerable respect were abruptly pushed aside.

Other Degel HaTorah officials offered a sharply different account. “Gafni could have ended his tenure like a king and taken another position in the party,” they said. “But the people around him, who disconnected him from the public in recent years, advised him to launch a campaign against his removal, which ended in humiliation.”

The final decision came on Motzei Shabbos, when Rosh Yeshiva Harav Dov Landau sent personal letters to Gafni and Maklev informing them that they would not continue serving in the Knesset as part of an effort to refresh Degel HaTorah’s parliamentary representation.

Harav Landau emphasized the tremendous appreciation for Gafni and Maklev’s work over the years, which they said was carried out in complete obedience to the Gedolei Yisrael. Particular recognition was given to their dedicated and loyal battle on behalf of the status of bnei yeshivos. Despite their removal from the Knesset slate, Harav Landau asked Gafni to remain chairman of the national Degel HaTorah party.

Behind the scenes, negotiations over the new slate continued until Shabbos and resumed immediately afterward as the respective rabbinic homes work toward an agreement ahead of Tuesday’s deadline for finalizing the lists.

Yaakov Asher, considered Harav Landau’s representative, and Yitzchak Pindrus, considered Harav Moshe Hillel Hirsch’s representative, are expected to remain. Moshe Rosenthal, who holds the education portfolio in the Bnei Brak municipality, is being discussed as another representative of Harav Landau.

No final decision has yet been reached in Harav Hirsch’s home regarding its additional candidate. One name under consideration is Yehuda Weissfish, CEO of “HaIchud,” who is close to the Rosh Yeshiva. Discussions are continuing, with the final composition of Degel HaTorah’s new Knesset slate expected to become clear ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

Netanyahu caves under US Pressure and orders evacuation of outposts ! May cost him the Election!

 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the defense establishment to take action to evacuate unauthorized outposts established in Area B of Judea and Samaria following pressure from the American government, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Sunday morning.

According to the report, the defense establishment estimates that there are currently about 100 unauthorized outposts throughout Judea and Samaria, approximately 15 to 20 of which were established in Areas A and B. Officials familiar with the details told the newspaper, “There are clear instructions from the National Security Council to evacuate outposts, certainly those located in Area B."

The report further stated that defense officials believe the issue of particular concern to the prime minister is pressure from the US administration, which is worried about the expansion of construction at outposts in Area B. According to those officials, Netanyahu also instructed ministers to refrain from making statements against IDF commanders and to give them their backing.

At the same time, the defense establishment is warning of a significant increase in the number of alerts regarding planned terrorist attacks and attempted attacks in Judea and Samaria. According to the report, security forces thwart dozens of attacks every week, some of them at very advanced stages of preparation.

Against the backdrop of the heightened tensions and preparations for the Tishrei holidays, the IDF is expected to reinforce Judea and Samaria with at least two additional battalions, while the headquarters of another division has also been placed on alert in case it is required to deploy to the sector.

For 40 years Iran built a ring of fire around Israel. The jewel in the crown was Hezbollah. Hezbollah’s own jewel was the complex it dug into the Ali Taher range—the closest base of that caliber to the “little Satan.”

Yesterday, it fell to the IDF.

Twenty years in the making, with Iranian help and enormous expense, the base contained command-and-control rooms, weapons and supply depots and field clinics, all buried 30 to 50 meters into solid rock. Just ten kilometers from the Israeli border, with a clear view of the Litani and the Israeli Hula Valley, it was the place from which Hezbollah intended to coordinate its own October 7 in the Galilee.

Israeli forces first reached the ridge on the thirty-first of May. By the twelfth of June, the division had taken Kfar Tibnit and the main body of the ridge. Then the ceasefire, a week later, leaving 40 Hezbollah fighters trapped beneath Israel’s feet. An assault would have inflicted casualties Israel was unwilling to absorb and broken a ceasefire it was unwilling to break.

So they began a siege. They shot down every attempt at relief, infiltrators and supply drones alike, and escalated steadily from there—pushing their own drones into the shafts, running loudspeakers into the ground around the clock. After a summer of siege, the men below broke—some retreating, others unable—leaving the IDF in full control of the ridge.

In mid-August, Iran warned Washington that a full Israeli assault on Ali Taher would draw a large-scale response. More than a dozen IRGC personnel were on the ridge, three officials told Reuters, including at least two senior officers. Set aside the obvious question of what a foreign army’s officers were doing on sovereign soil—after all, it isn’t sovereign, it’s Lebanon. The fortress has now fallen, and the question of a response falls to Iran.

The trouble is that the Iran that made the threat is not the same Iran that has to keep it. In the intervening month, the United States blinded Tehran in the strait, restored much of the commercial shipping it had disrupted, and drew the economic noose tighter. A month of siege has sapped much of the bravado from the Islamic Republic.

They have three options: a large response, a small one, or silence. A large response inevitably resumes the war. The prospect has its attractions for a regime on the edge: wartime discipline is the easiest form of crowd control, and if Iran is even weaker than we believe, a heroic death in resistance is well within Jihadist sensibilities. A small response risks arriving at the same place by accident—Israel is eager to answer disproportionately to any provocation and weaken the regime further.

They may still risk it. But Tehran has had chances to significantly escalate in recent weeks and declined every one, settling instead for the uneasy equilibrium of neither war nor peace.

It is a tightrope, and the regime may well make it to the other side. But while desperately trying to balance it won’t be able to stop Israel plucking the jewels from its crown, one fortress at a time.

 New details have emerged about Thursday’s historic White House meeting between President Donald Trump and a delegation of leading Hasidic rabbis, including the involvement of Vice President JD Vance and Jared Kushner in separate portions of the gathering. 

The meeting began in the Roosevelt Room, where White House Jewish liaison Martin Marks, who had worked for months to arrange the gathering, opened the session. White House Staff Secretary Will Scharf also addressed the group.

Vance joined the meeting midway in the Roosevelt Room and personally greeted the rabbis and other dignitaries around the table.

He praised the Jewish community’s strong emphasis on family and education, saying both issues are close to him. He also asked about the different colors of the Rebbes’ bekitches.

Yossi Gestetner joked that the color depends on their bank account balance, drawing laughter from the room. Gestetner later confirmed to VIN News that he did, in fact, make the remark as a joke.

At the beginning of the gathering, the two Satmar Rebbes, Rabbi Zalman Leib Teitelbaum of Williamsburg and Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum of Kiryas Joel, warmly greeted one another and exchanged brachos.

Rabbi Aaron also wished his brother a mazel tov on the engagement of a grandchild, which had been finalized the previous night.
