Poll: Smotrich siphoning votes from Shas
Living in a Chareidie neighborhood in Beit Shemesh, I saw this coming; practically all the people I talk to would never again vote for Shas or Degel, in the last election Beit Shemesh overwhelmingly voted for Ben Gvir. Reasonable frum serious Jews are fed up with Charedie clueless disconnected Teirah leadership! They refuse to live under Taliban supervision.
A Channel 13 News poll published on Wednesday evening indicates that if elections were held today, Likud, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, would win 22 seats, remaining the largest party in the Knesset.
The "Yashar!" party led by Gadi Eisenkot receives 21 seats - a two-seat drop compared to the previous poll. Naftali Bennett’s "Together" party secures 15 seats, The Democrats led by Yair Golan earn 11, and Yisrael Beytenu under Avigdor Liberman takes 10.
Further down the list are United Torah Judaism with 8 seats, while Shas and Otzma Yehudit receive 7 seats each. Bezalel Smotrich's Religious Zionist party climbs to 6 seats.
Hadash-Ta'al gets 5 seats, Ra'am holds 4, and the joint slate of reservists led by Yoaz Hendel and Chili Tropper crosses the electoral threshold for the first time with 4 seats. Balad and Benny Gantz's Blue and White fail to clear the threshold.
According to the poll, the opposition bloc - which includes the Hendel-Tropper slate - reaches 61 seats, while the coalition bloc led by Netanyahu stands at just 50 seats.
Trump getting influenced by Arab Leaders who keep telling him that Netanyahu Is the Obstacle to Peace
For this reason alone its important that Netanyahu get elected again!
Israeli outlet Kan News reported Wednesday that an Arab diplomat with knowledge of the matter told the news channel that Arab leaders in recent conversations with President Donald Trump have said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is an obstacle to peace in the Middle East.
The diplomat said they have been pressing the issue with the president ahead of Israel’s elections in October, saying they have no confidence in the prime minister and his government. Trump has reportedly been swayed by these conversations, which may be why he has refrained from endorsing Netanyahu outright while still calling him a “strong wartime prime minister.”
Trump and Netanyahu have shared some tense moments during the U.S. negotiations with Iran, including when Israel pushed back against being forced into a ceasefire with Hezbollah, which Trump believed was needed for the talks to proceed. The two, however, downplayed those disagreements and presented a united front publicly.

The Story of Sennacherib’s Attack of Judah and Jerusalem During the Reign of Hezekiah-A Syncrhronism Between Archaeology and the Hebrew Bible
A historical event where we see a lot of correspondence between the Biblical Text and archaeology is with the Assyrian attack against the kingdom of Judea and Jerusalem. In Isaiah chapter 36 of the Hebrew Bible it is written
“ In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah’s reign, Sennacherib king of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them. 2 Then the king of Assyria sent his field commander with a large army from Lachish to King Hezekiah at Jerusalem.”
From this we see that the King of Judah was Hezekiah and the Assyrian king was Sennacherib. Not only that but the Assyrian king had conquered Lachish and now he was headed to conquer Jerusalem.
What is rare about this story is that we have the extra biblical text from Sennacherib himself. In 1830 Colonel Robert Taylor while excavating at Nineveh found a prism with Akkadian writing on it. It was eventually deciphered. On it reads”
”As for the king of Judah, Hezekiah, who had not submitted to my authority, I besieged and captured forty-six of his fortified cities, along with many smaller towns, taken in battle with my battering rams. … I took as plunder 200,150 people, both small and great, male and female, along with a great number of animals including horses, mules, donkeys, camels, oxen, and sheep. As for Hezekiah, I shut him up like a caged bird in his royal city of Jerusalem. I then constructed a series of fortresses around him, and I did not allow anyone to come out of the city gates. His towns which I captured I gave to Mitinti , king of Ashdod; Padi, ruler of Ekron; and Silli-bel, king of Gaza.”
Sennacherib does not boast about capturing Jerusalem, only other towns of Judah. If he had captured Jerusalem he certainly would have boasted about it being the capital of Judah. Why was Sannacherib not able to capture Jerusalem? Every town the Assyrians besieged they captured all except Jerusalem. According to 2 Kings 18:13–15 it is written:
“ In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah’s reign, Sennacherib king of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them. So Hezekiah, king of Judah sent this message to the king of Assyria at Lachish: “I have done wrong. Withdraw from me, and I will pay whatever you demand of me.” The king of Assyria exacted from Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold. So Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the temple of the Lord and in the treasuries of the royal palace.
In the prism written during Sennacherib’s reign it says
“As for Hezekiah, the terrifying splendor of my majesty overcame him, and the Urbi (Arabs) and his mercenary (?) troops which he had brought in to strengthen Jerusalem, his royal city, deserted him (lit. took leave). In addition to the 30 talents of gold and 800 talents of silver, (there were) gems, antimony, jewels (?), large sandu-stones, couches of ivory, house-chairs of ivory, elephant hide, ivory (lit. elephant’s “teeth”) ebony (?), boxwood (?), all kinds of valuable (heavy) treasures, as well as his daughters, his harem, his male and female musicians, (which) he had (them) bring after me to Nineveh, my royal city. To pay tribute and to accept (lit. do) servitude, he dispatched his messengers.”
Here we see the exact amount of gold as 30 talents of gold in both the Bible and the prism. The amount of silver is not the same but the fact both say Hezekiah gave silver is correct. From both the Hebrew Bible and the account from Sennacherib we see there is a lot of correspondence. the Bible correctly names the Hezekiah King of Judah and Sennacherib King of Assyria. The Bible correctly says towns in Judah were conquered but Jerusalem was not conquered.
All those who argue for the mythical character of the Bible do so from an argument of silence that we have not uncovered yet extra biblical texts corroborating the Bible. However when we do have such extra biblical texts, as we do here, then it shows that the Bible is not a mythical text. Besides being a religious text it is also a historical text. Chabad Bais Din in Israel Looking into why Wigs are now $16,000!
After years of complaints about the steady increase in wig prices, a new campaign is taking shape that could bring significant change.
Attorney Nechama Tzivin is advancing an initiative to secure halachic intervention regarding wig pricing, arguing that current prices constitute excessive price gouging that places a heavy burden on many families.
The initiative was sparked by a case in which a wig was reportedly sold for approximately ₪48,000 – about $16,000 USD. According to the organizers, this case illustrates the dramatic rise in wig prices in recent years and underscores the need for intervention by the rabbinical court.
As part of the effort, a formal claim is expected to be filed with Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in Israel in the coming days. Similar claims are also planned for rabbinical courts serving the Litvish and Chassidic communities, with the goal of developing a broad communal position on the issue.
According to the organizers, the primary request is for the rabbinical courts to examine the matter and consider ways to oversee wig pricing and prevent excessive price inflation, with the aim of easing the financial burden on many families.
As of now, no response has been issued by representatives of the wig industry, nor have they provided an explanation for the high prices of wigs.

The House passed a bill Tuesday that would make daylight saving time permanent. Proponents, including the White House, argued the change would provide more daylight during the times that Americans are most active. The vote was 308-117.
Daylight saving time is that period between spring and fall when clocks in most parts of the United States are set one hour ahead of standard time. States could opt out if their respective legislatures act to do so before the bill’s enactment. The Senate would also have to pass the bill before it could be signed into law, but it’s unclear if it will do so.
Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., said Americans are ready to “ditch the switch,” saying that changing the clock twice a year creates unnecessary disruption. More important, he said, it would give families more daylight time in the evening to spend outdoors and support local businesses.
“In my home state of Florida where tourism is a cornerstone of our economy, having more predictable daylight hours is a practical improvement that benefits workers, businesses and visitors alike,” Bilirakis said.
Detractors said permanent daylight saving time would lead to darker and potentially more hazardous winter mornings where children will be waiting for school buses and parents will be driving to work in darkness.
“Millions of Americans will wake up during the winter months in complete darkness with the sun not rising until long after people get up and travel to school or work or have to go about their days,” said Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa.
Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass, said he supported the bill, but he questioned whether it was the best way for Congress to be spending its time.
“For folks getting crushed by rent, groceries, utility bills and healthcare costs, is this really the best the majority can do?” McGovern said. “Is this really the most pressing issue before the American people at this moment?”
A 2025 poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that if forced to choose, most Americans would prefer to keep that extra hour of daylight in the evening.
If they had to choose one option for the entire country to use, more than half of adults — 56% — prefer making daylight saving time permanent, with less light in the morning and more light in the evening. About 4 in 10 prefer standard time, with more light in the morning and less in the evening.
The White House weighed in before the House vote, calling the “Sunshine Protection Act” a popular, common-sense reform and saying advisers would recommend the president sign the bill if it reaches his desk.
Members of Congress have long been interested in the potential benefits and costs of daylight saving time since it was first adopted as a wartime measure in 1942. The Senate passed a bill four years ago to make daylight saving time permanent, but it stalled in the House.

However, in August 2015, it hosted the launch of the “Ancient Kosher Ben Pekuah Meat Project,” one of the most ambitious and revolutionary kosher products launched in over 1,000 years.
Ben Pekuah is an ancient Halachic concept that is discussed in Jewish law, the Talmud, and rabbinic literature; it refers to the offspring of pregnant kosher bovine animals that are slaughtered in accordance with Jewish law. The surviving premature fetuses inside the slaughtered mothers are not considered to be “alive” according to the Mishna and some rabbinic opinions. This means that although the surviving animals look like regular goats, sheep, or cows, under Jewish law they do not technically require ritual slaughter nor the checking of their lungs or internal organs for imperfections that would render them nonkosher. The hind quarters of these animals—including the fats and the sciatic nerves, which are generally forbidden—may also be consumed, according to some rabbinic opinions.
According to some well respected halachic authorities, the Ben Pekuah is a species (like deer) that is not restricted by the prohibition of cooking meat and milk.
Throughout Jewish history small herds of Ben Pekuah have existed with their special privileges known about and utilized, including the fact that ritual slaughter was not required, with the last of these known herds recorded in the 13th century.

Yesterday, the graduation ceremony of the Hashmonite Brigade's course took place in the tomb of Shmuel Hanavie in Jerusalem. y Protesters arrived outside the ceremony.
One of the soldiers thanked one of the protesters for learning his Torah, and in response the protester wished him to burn in a tank in Gaza.
Emotional Solidarity, Even Without Ideological Agreement

After forty tumultuous years of leadership in the desert, Moshe finally enjoyed a measure of well-earned peace. The eastern campaign had concluded successfully, and Midian had been brought to justice. The people had been counted and organized into tribes and families, and the process for allocating the Land of Israel had been put in place.
A potential crisis had been averted, as five women who feared they would be excluded from inheriting Israel were granted their rightful share.
Most importantly, Moshe’s successor had been appointed, assuring a smooth transition of leadership.
