      I am trying to understand how the honored Roshei Yeshiva are Poskining the Sugya of AI without any first hand knowledge or use. Like any other technology AI is a Golem. It can be used by Hachamim for gathering and sifting through useful and correct information or it can be used by fools to lead them to incorrect information and mistaken conclusions. I have been using it daily for 3 months in my writing as a fact checker, a grammar checker, a source finder, a history savant, and it has helped me correct dozens of mistakes and improve my writing. Should we stop using cars and telephones because they can also be used for destructive purposes? One of the biggest Gaonim of the last Dor told me there is no such thing as a Maase Satan .. only people who misuse the Bria can Kavyachol turn Hashem’s world which is Kulo Tov into a Maase Satan. Let the Gedolim write guidelines for the proper way to use AI instead of trying to stop this ocean change in civilization

A second asifa addressing the growing impact of artificial intelligence was held Thursday night in Lakewood, drawing senior rabbinic leadership and continuing a discussion that began earlier this week.

The gathering focused on concerns surrounding AI-driven calling, texting, and content generation, and followed an initial asifah that drew dozens of leading rabbanim and roshei yeshiva, where the gedolim called for a yom taanis u’tefillah over the threats posed by AI. A date has not been set for when that will take place.

Thursday night’s meeting featured remarks from Rav Elyah Ber Wachtfogel, Rav Malkiel Kotler and Rav Yisroel Newman, who addressed both the technological and hashkafic implications of artificial intelligence.

During his remarks, Rav Yisroel Newman warned that artificial intelligence poses dangers he described as more severe than those associated with the general internet. Rav Malkiel addressed the use of AI in Torah learning, stating that Torah learned through AI-generated means would not warrant a bracha, characterizing such a bracha as a berachah levatalah.

The asifah was attended by a wide range of senior roshei yeshiva and rabbinic leaders, including Rav Mendel Slomowitz, Rav Michel Handelsman, Rav Aryeh Sherwinter, Rav Menachem Mintz, Rav Velvel Mintz, and Rav Dovid Mermelstein.

Israel’s Arkia Forges Deal With JetBlue on Flight Connections in US

 Israel’s Arkia Airlines said on Thursday it signed a deal with low-cost US carrier JetBlue Airways that would allow its customers to connect on JetBlue flights in the United States and to Latin America and the Caribbean.

Privately held Arkia mainly flies domestically and to Europe, but it launched flights from Tel Aviv to New York a year ago in competition with its larger rival and flag carrier El Al Israel Airlines.

Under the so-called interline agreement, Arkia‘s flight schedule of up to seven weekly non-stop flights to JFK Airport will be linked with JetBlue‘s destination network.

“This agreement adds a significant layer to strengthening Arkia‘s long-haul operations and expanding the range of services for customers travelling to North America,” said Arkia CEO Oz Berlowitz.

Dave Jehn, a vice president at JetBlue, the sixth-largest airline in the United States, said the new partnership with Arkia “allows us to expand our global reach and provides customers with a wider range of destinations and seamless connections between flights.”

El Al also has an interline agreement with JetBlue but a codeshare deal between the airlines ended in October.

The judges say:

Warnings were sent.
Moments existed to stop.
Paths of teshuva were open before judgment.

But you did not return.
You concealed.
You rationalized.
You remained silent.
And the burden of harm was left upon others—
the shattered hearts, the violated trust, the confusion sown.

You lift your eyes and see your parents and grandparents.
They do not shout.
They do not accuse.
They stand broken,
asking how Torah produced this outcome.

The shame of that moment exceeds all suffering known in this world,
for אין דבר נסתר לפניו—nothing is hidden before Him.

The Torah itself warned:

“Lo tonu ish et amito” (Vayikra 25:17).
Chazal are explicit: this is ona’at devarim—emotional harm.
Words.
Influence.
Manipulation.
Deception of the innocent.
This is judged more severely than theft.

Do not believe that external piety grants immunity.
Torah does not protect one who corrupts it.
It indicts him.

The Rambam rules (Hilchot Teshuva 3):
One who causes others to stumble while cloaked in Torah
endangers his share in the World to Come.

The Gemara teaches (Yoma 86a):
Chilul Hashem is not erased by time alone—
only by full and public repentance.

Teaching Torah does not excuse betraying Torah.
Even the adversary knows how to quote verses.

Know this clearly:

Harming a neshama is never private.
Exploiting imbalance, authority, or trust leaves a permanent mark.
The cry of a crushed soul ascends.
וצעקתם תשמע אלקים.

Everything built on falsehood collapses.
Mishpat Hashem emet, tzadiku yachdav.

The Judge is patient.
But the Judge does not forget.

Then your ego attempts to answer:
“I did teshuva.”

And you are shown what your teshuva truly was.

Not repentance—
but preservation of self.
Not humility—
but image management.
Not repair—
but silence dressed as restraint.

You are shown what was not confessed.
What was not repaired.
What you continued to benefit from
while claiming return.

You are shown every life disrupted.
Every year taken.
Every soul—especially those who trusted you most—
left carrying damage
while you moved on untouched.

And when you say:

“But what about the Torah I taught?
What about the people who became observant through me?”

You are answered:

Torah taught while others paid the cost is not merit.
Mitzvot performed while harm continued are not a defense.
Torah that leaves victims behind—emotional, spiritual, or sexual—does not rise;
it returns as testimony.

You are asked:

Do you mean the good done while harm continued?
Do you mean Torah used to outweigh lives you shattered?

That is not zechut.
That is contradiction.

The court falls silent.

For the damage was deep.
For the breach was willful.
For the misuse of Torah and authority was severe.

The judgment is so grave
that the court deliberates
whether correction is even possible.

For there are sins that stain,
and there are sins that disfigure.

You stand there without words,
knowing that what you called teshuva
was only ego refusing to fall.

Afterward, your children reach the end of their years.
They ask, “Where is our parent?”

They learn the truth.

They cannot see you.
They cannot learn Torah with you.
They cannot sit with you where truth resides.

There is no access.
There is only separation.

If redemption comes early,
you are not present then either.

This is not written to accuse.
It is written to warn.

Because authority without fear of Heaven destroys.
And Torah misused does not protect—
it records.

England Wants to Classify a BRIS as Possible Child Abuse

 

Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service is considering draft guidance that would allow prosecutors to treat male circumcision as a potential form of child abuse in certain cases, prompting concern from Jewish and Muslim leaders who warn the move could stigmatize a long-standing religious practice.

The proposal, first reported Saturday by The Guardian, appears in a draft document on “harmful practices” that would place circumcision alongside issues such as forced marriage when procedures are carried out improperly or without adequate safeguards.

Under the draft guidance, prosecutors are told that while male circumcision is not a specific criminal offense in England and Wales, it could amount to abuse or an offense against the person if performed in unsafe conditions or by unqualified individuals.

Community leaders say the wording risks blurring the line between rare cases of malpractice and widely accepted religious and medical practices. Jewish and Muslim groups have urged the CPS to revise the language, arguing that unsafe procedures should be prosecuted without labeling circumcision itself as inherently harmful.

The draft guidance follows a series of coroner warnings after deaths linked to unsafe circumcisions and renewed calls for stricter oversight of who is allowed to perform the procedure.

The CPS said the document remains under review and has not been finalized.
