Rabbi Azriel Auerbach appointed new leader of the Extreme Peleg Crazies

 

Following the passing two days ago of the leader of the Bnei Torah Jerusalem Faction (Peleg Yerushalmi), Rabbi Asher Deutsch, 88-year-old Rabbi Azriel Auerbach has been appointed in his place.

Rabbi Auerbach is the brother of Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, of blessed memory, who founded the movement, and son-in-law of Lithuanian leader, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv of blessed memory.

At a meeting held last night at his home, Rabbi Auerbach announced that he would continue in the footsteps of his predecessors. "We will continue to adhere to all details that we have received from our rabbis, the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, of blessed memory, and the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Asher Deutsch, of blessed memory, especially in the struggle against the draft law and vigilance on our independence in the education of our sons and daughters, as well as to distance ourselves from other communities."

"His election marks and ideological continuity in the leadership of the Jerusalem Faction, which is known for its firm stance on the issue of drafting yeshiva students," explains a Faction source.

Unbelievable: Biden Asks Israel to Approve Military Aid to PA

 

The Biden administration has privately asked Israel to approve an urgent request for U.S. military aid to Palestinian Authority forces, Arab, American and Israeli officials told Axios on Sunday night.

The request comes after the P.A. launched a rare counter-terror raid in Jenin, where Ramallah for years refused to act against Iranian-backed terrorist groups, in violation of its commitments under the Oslo Accords.

Ramallah launched its operation, dubbed “Defense of the Homeland,” following the Dec. 5 seizure by Hamas and Islamic Jihad of a P.A. vehicle and amid fears that terrorists in the Samaria city could attempt a coup inspired by the swift rebel takedown of Bashar Assad’s regime in Syria.

According to Arab media reports, two Arab terrorists have so far been killed by the P.A., including Yazid Jaysa, a leader in the Islamic Jihad-led Jenin Brigades who was reportedly also wanted by Israel.

The ongoing operation “is a make or break moment for the Palestinian Authority,” one official in Ramallah told Axios. “Either [you] act like a state you say you are or go back to being a militant organization.”

 Israel conducted a wave of airstrikes in Syria overnight Sunday, with local media reporting that the attacks were so powerful that they triggered minor earthquakes.

Israeli fighter jets bombed military targets of the deposed dictator Bashar Assad in the port cities of Latakia and Tartus, according to the reports, with Russian media, citing Syrian sources, saying that the target of the attack in Tartus was an air-defense base and a surface-to-surface missile depot.
