Oh, Britain. The empire that carved up the Middle East with a pencil and a gin-and-tonic. You issued the Balfour Declaration and then slammed the door on Jewish refugees fleeing the Nazis. You handed chunks of Jewish land to Arab monarchs and let Jews die in the Holocaust rather than let them enter your precious Mandate. You interned Holocaust survivors in Cyprus like they were criminals. And now you’re wagging your colonial finger at Jews for building homes on our ancestral hills? We’re not the broken, stateless Jews of 1942. We’re the sovereign people of Israel—armed, aware, and unapologetic. Your sanctions are a joke. Your threats are meaningless. Your moral lectures are garbage. We don’t need your permission to live. We don’t need your validation to fight. You allowed Jewish blood to soak your soil for centuries. Now that Jews fight back, build, and thrive, you clutch your pearls? Israel doesn’t need your empty Western democracy. We have something older, holier, and stronger: truth, covenant, survival. Yeshivishe Oilam Finally Sees That their System is "Not Sustainable" and is "Collapsing"

 

DIN: I have been screaming on this blog for years that the Yeshivishe System is no longer feasible and is in fact collapsing! Our OTD problem is in fact, a direct result of this system! 

Finally, I see that parents have had it and are now coming out and stating the obvious! The entire system is built on "schnorrerei" living off other people and Government grants! It is no wonder that so many Chareidim are incarcerated because of the financial pressure the community places on them! 

Here are two long letters that were sent to other bloggers as well, that spell out the pain that these families have to go through to fit in! We can not count on the "gedoilim" to change anything; they are unfortunately totally disconnected, and it is not in their interests to have anything change! So this revolution is quick in coming and is coming from the bottom up! 

Letter One

Dear Oilam, 

This is not a rant , this is real and it’s our reality for thousands of families across klal Yisroel* .

*We need to take real  action* , we can maybe start with something similar to below .

1. Everyone needs to get financial training by either RSK or the OU program

2. ⁠We need to prioritize  our spending and stop wasting money on unnecessary things and pretending we have when we don’t

3. ⁠We need to streamline our charity  organizations and only help those that help themselves ( no chasuna help should be given to anyone that’s  not taking on all  the Simcha initiative programs, you shouldn’t get $12,000 help make a wedding and then go buy a natural grown diamond engagement ring etc )

4. ⁠We need stop being lazy and shop for food and clothing in places that are little less convenient but can get us %30 to %50 savings …

5. ⁠shut  down overseas seminary for girls

6. ⁠oilem has to get 2 guys in every shul and communicate with other gabbaim in other Shuls and help make job shidduchim

7. ⁠we have to rapidly expand outside of our current borders into areas where cost of living is less ( *only way to do that is to have certain yeshivas send yunngerleit further out and make things happen*)

8. ⁠We have to daven for siyata dshamaya for all of the above

The “leaders” have to stand up and initiate and push through the above,with any means necessary

*We are drowning and people have to stop being concerned about what others think and just do the right thing*

Birthright Israel Launches Summer 2025 Season with More Than 30,000 Participants

 

Birthright Israel officially launched its Summer 2025 season today, greeting the first groups of participants from the United States as trips begin in full force. Running from mid-May through September, the program is set to bring more than 20,000 young Jewish adults from the U.S., Canada, and over 30 additional countries.

This summer also marks a significant rise in student participation. In total, more than 30,000 individuals are expected to join Birthright Israel programs in 2025 — a 60% increase from 2024, when nearly 20,000 young Jewish adults took part. Last year, Birthright accounted for 87% of all young Jews who traveled to Israel through educational programs

Participants will arrive from around the globe, including France, Argentina, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, and many others.

In response to recent disruptions in airline schedules, Birthright Israel is actively coordinating alternative travel arrangements to ensure all participants arrive as planned. Despite these challenges, the organization remains fully committed to delivering a successful and seamless experience for every attendee.

“Now more than ever, it’s important for young Jews to experience Israel firsthand — to connect with its people, understand its complexity, and see the reality beyond the headlines,” said Gidi Mark, CEO of Birthright Israel. “Today, Birthright is more than just the iconic 10-day trip — we offer a wide array of opportunities for Jews aged 18 to 50 to engage with Israel in meaningful and personal ways.”
