Satmar Ahronie "Der Blatt" Accused of Racism

A Yiddish-language newspaper, where New York City agencies frequently place ads, published a column with racist overtones, sources told The Post.

Der Blatt, a widely read paper for one faction of the Satmar Hasidic sect, ran a column by Rabbi Shmuel Teller in its June 4 edition discussing the political crisis in Israel.

The rabbi likened the situation to two Black men — one described as a “dirty person” — throwing a Jewish man out of his own home, sources said.

The rabbi described one of the men with a derogatory term meaning “blackest of the black” that would be akin to using the N-word in English, sources said.

One member of the Hasidic community said he was appalled by the rabbi’s column.

“As a Hasidic father who tries to imbue my children with respect to everyone, writings like these destroy all my efforts,” he said.

A message left for Der Blatt was not returned.

A woman who answered the phone at Teller’s house said she was his wife and that her husband did not speak English well enough to comment.

Der Blatt in November wrote about how it kept quiet about the planned wedding of a grandson of Satmar Grand Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, which saw thousands of people packed into a Williamsburg synagogue despite COVID-19 restrictions.

A spokeswoman for Mayor de Blasio could not immediately say how much the city spent to advertise in Der Blatt, but said it would stop doing so.

“We have zero tolerance for racism. Period. This column betrays the values of our city and as a result we will no longer advertise in the newspaper,” Avery Cohen said.

'Shabbos goy' reported to be Christian missionary

The ultra-Orthodox community in Jerusalem was shocked to find out this week that Jen Komo, an American woman who has lived in Israel for several years working in the community by providing alternative medicine services and helping transport pregnant women to the hospital on Shabbat, might be a Christian missionary.

A week ago, a Haredi man turned to the Yad L'Achim organization, which works to spread Jewish values and battles attempts to convert Jews, and explained that for weeks his wife seemed troubled and "not herself" and finally admitted she was considering converting to Christianity. When he pressed to find out more details, his wife shared that Komo pressured her to do so.

"Jen convinced me that I was living a lie and said that Jesus gave up his life for all of mankind and that all my sins would be forgiven as soon as I accept him as my messiah," the Haredi woman said. "She took advantage of my emotional state and past traumas to push, pressure and convince me to convert."

According to the woman, Komo also asked her to keep their meetings secret. "I was worried my husband would begin to suspect, and she suggested I tell him that I meet with her to study Psalms and the Bible."

Yad L'Achim said Komo might indeed be a missionary. After the organization began looking into the matter, it found a video of her from 2014 giving a speech at a missionary church in the United States about her work in Israel.

"That's what I do with these people. I love on them, I teach them, be an example. They don't know that I'm shining Jesus' love all over them and through them. But it works. It works, because he works," Komo said in her speech.

In a conversation with Israel Hayom, she defined all claims: "I am not a Christian missionary. I have maybe spoken with one or two women about Christianity, but they are adults, over the age of 18. The video you mentioned was recorded a long time ago. I am not interested in getting anyone to convert. In any case, I mostly speak about the prophets in the way they are described in the Bible."

Frisch Schoo Yearbook Has "In Memorian" Page for the Black Thugs Shot by Cops!

Seniors at the Frisch School in New Jersey were treated to a surprise in their yearbook this year. An “In Memoriam” page listed more than a dozen names of men and women described as being “just a few of the many, many black Americans who were wrongfully killed by police.” The page was written in the form of an open letter, signed by the student editors of the yearbook. It was addressed to people such as George Floyd, Michael Brown and Eric Garner, and ended with a call to the class of 2021: “Let’s change the world for the better.”

The reaction was immediate. “Right away, kids started ripping the page out,” one senior said. “Others were blacking it all out with sharpies.” According to the student, no one knew this page would be a part of the yearbook, but seeing the names of the signatories, no one was surprised either. “Everyone knows their politics. They are trying to speak for us,” he said with resentment, “but no one I know liked it.” He and his friends say they disagree with the letter and its claims. But perhaps more objectionable is the license given to a handful of students to use the class yearbook to voice their personal political views. “This was about them, not us,” he said.

Liberman: Statement on dumping Charedim 'was not the most successful'

Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman acknowledged on Friday that his pre-election statement that he would send the haredi community “in one wheelbarrow to a garbage dump” should not have been made.

“The statement was misunderstood, there was no intention here. It was perhaps not the most successful statement, but so be it,” Liberman said in an interview on the Ofira & Berkovic program which airs on Channel 12.

He rejected claims that the haredim should be concerned over his appointment as Finance Minister, saying, “They should not be afraid. We are doing what is good for them and the country. I do not want to interfere with their lifestyle, nor do I want them to interfere with my lifestyle. They should study core subjects, acquire a profession and not be dependent on donations their entire lives. It is inconceivable that the percentage of eligibility for matriculation in Modi'in is over 90%, and in Modi'in Illit 5.5%. We do not want to harm anyone, but that everyone will contribute to society and integrate into society.”

Liberman predicted that the new government would last for many days: “Before the election, we set three goals - a change of government and its leader, the removal of Shas and United Torah Judaism from the coalition, and that we will get the Treasury portfolio. New goals now need to be set, and the two important goals are to stabilize the coalition and approve the budget. Once we pass a responsible and serious budget and stabilize the coalition, the election will be another four and a half years from now.”

He was asked about his promise before the election not to be part of a coalition with the Ra'am party but ultimately joining a government with Ra'am.

“It was Netanyahu who legitimized Ra'am. Between the alternative of going to a fifth election or forming such an eclectic government, a government is better than a fifth election. I agree that we need to invest in infrastructure in the Arab sector as well,” said Liberman.

Asked whether he thinks Benjamin Netanyahu will return to power, Liberman replied, “Politics are like a wheel, sometime you're up and sometimes you’re down. I don't know if he will come back.”

Iran's New President Ebrahim Raisi The 'Butcher of Tehran is Responsible for over 30,000 Executions

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lior Haiat reacted to the election of Ebrahim Raisi as the next president of Iran.

"After the Supreme Leader effectively dictated to the Iranian public who they could choose, less than 50% of Iranian citizens eligible to vote have elected its most extremist president to date," Haiat.

"The butcher of Tehran, Ebrahim Raisi, has been rightly denounced by the international community for his direct role in the extrajudicial executions of over 30,000 people. He is designated by the U.S. Treasury for these heinous crimes.

"An extremist figure, committed to Iran’s rapidly advancing military nuclear program, his election makes clear Iran's true malign intentions, and should prompt grave concern among the international community.

More than ever, Iran’s nuclear program must be halted immediately, rolled back entirely and stopped indefinitely. Iran’s ballistic missile program must be dismantled and its global terror campaign vigorously countered by a broad international coalition.

Soros Connected Hypocrite Liar Running For Mayor Of NYC

Maya Wiley campaign marred by evidence of her wealth and elitism

She’s not Maya from the block.

Maya Wiley has staked her claim to Gracie Mansion on unifying New Yorkers around her progressive bona fidesand hard-bitten personal story.

But it’s a tale that has often required looking past a number of silver spoons, and alleged hypocrisy, including:

  • Putting her own kids in selective city schools, and an elite private one, despite campaigning against what she calls “racist” academic screens.
  • Making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year as a “career” activist and lawyer for the de Blasio administration.
  • Living in a multi-million home in an exclusive area of Brooklyn with private security, while advocating to defund the NYPD.

“It worries me,” Shaquana Boykin, a Brooklyn district leader who is backing Dianne Morales in the mayor’s race, told The Post. “Wealth and economic status changes everything. You can be white, purple, yellow — if you come from a different economic status, your lived experience is different.”

Bhaskar Sunkara, founder and editor of the socialist magazine Jacobin, said, “I think the left in the future should be running actual working-class candidates,” noting Wiley’s gilded trappings made her less than ideal.

Wiley’s beau, Mandel, does well for himself as CEO of the Media Development Investment Fund, a self-described “not-for-profit investment fund.” Mandel earned more than $900,000 in compensation between 2017 and 2019, tax records show.

From 1996 to 1998, Mandel worked as deputy general counsel at the Open Society Foundations. Wiley also worked there in the late ’90s, according to her LinkedIn profile.
