Dr Norman Lamm, a distinguished Talmud Chachem, philosopher, teacher and author who faithfully led the YU community as president, and Rosh Yeshivah for 5 decades, was niftar on May 31.

If you are a faithful reader of the FJJ you would have no idea....
in fact Mordy Mehlman the publisher,  dedicated more space to the convicted violent felon James Floyd then he did for this outstanding educator and tzaddik.

In this week's issue June 12 ... he managed to stuff the announcement of Dr. Lamm's petirah somewhere on page 71, 
you had to first go thru some grueling ads for air conditioners, Babshi's Shabbos Pan, The Yellow Door, etc .... before you got to the notice...

In fact a recipe for a Lemon pie taking up a half page was placed on page 21....
a question why boys now want girls to have masters degrees appeared on page 52 ...19 full pages before letting anyone know that this giant passed away...

Hallel Ariel's family Sues Palestinian Authority for NIS 100 million

The family of 13-year-old Hallel Ariel, killed in a violent terror attack in 2016, is suing the Palestinian Authority for NIS 100 million.

Since the incident of the terror attack, Hallel's parents, Rina and Amichai Ariel, have been involved in inter-state legal battles against the Palestinian Authority (PA). 

The NIS 100 million is the same amount the PA is paying the terrorist's family, in the form of monthly payments, for having carried out the attacks, and is the basis of the Ariel family's legal pursuit. 

Prior to Hallel's murder, the terrorist who carried out the attack, Muhammad Tarayrah, 17 at the time of the incident, shared multiple posts on Facebook in which he praised terror attacks and stated his intentions to be a martyr. Carrying out his intentions, the terrorist infiltrated the West Bank Settlement of Kiryat Araba, located next to Hebron, snuck into Hallel's bedroom and stabbed her multiple times.

Following the attack the PA has paid the terrorist's family a monthly amount of NIS 12,000, according to Shurat HaDin, the legal body helping the Ariel family with their case.

Hallel was a dancer, and had performed in Jerusalem the night before the incident. Her family had allowed her to sleep in while they left to carry out the day's activities. Tarayrah had managed to infiltrate the settlement, and though alarms were set off, managed to sneak into the girl's bedroom, stabbing her to death, before the settlement's security team, of which her father was a part of, captured the terrorist, shot and killed him.

Hallel was brought to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. 

Hallel's mother Rina and Shurat HaDin, a civil rights non-governmental organization representing terror victims, filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court in The Hague against the heads of the Palestinian Authority for inciting terrorism earlier this year. 

"The body that finances, encourages and incites terrorism will also be held accountable for its actions. Money is oxygen for terrorism, even if it is given in retrospect," Shurat HaDin said in a statement. 

"If the lawsuit is accepted, all victims of terrorism can sue the Palestinian Authority without proving their [the terrorist's] direct connection to the attack, but rather based on the payments the PA pays to the terrorists and their families," Shurat HaDin added.

Chasidishe Man stabbed in the Head in London

An Orthodox Jewish man was stabbed in London Friday, in an apparent anti-Semitic attack.

The incident occurred on Stoke Newington High Street in the Hackney area of east London Friday morning just before 11:00 a.m. (local time).

The victim was treated at the scene by a Hatzola emergency response team before being evacuated by an air ambulance to a London hospital. He is reportedly in stable condition.

London Metropolitan Police were called to the scene, and have arrested the suspected assailant.

The Hackney Council confirmed that a “police incident” had occurred, adding that roads in the area have been closed off.

Witnesses say the suspect stabbed the victim, a Hasidic Jew, before being tackled by construction workers, who detained the assailant until police arrived to take him into custody.

A friend of the victim who was present during the attack told MailOnline that the victim had suffered blade wounds to his skull.

The victim was identified as a man in his 50s who lives in the Stamford Hill neighborhood of London. He was reportedly standing outside of a bank when the assailant attacked him.

Community Security Trust (CST), a British non-profit which monitors anti-Semitism, said it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman released a statement on the stabbing saying Friday:

 "At 10:54 a.m., police were called to reports of a male being restrained in Stoke Newington High Street, N16. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. A man, aged in his 50s, was found suffering stab wounds."
