Donald Trump has announced that a peace deal between the US and Iran will be signed tomorrow in a move designed to bring an end to months of conflict and global instability.
The president said if the agreement is reached Sunday it would see the Strait of Hormuz 'open to all.'
The vital waterway has been blockaded virtually since the US took out Iran's Supreme Leader in targeted strikes which kicked off the war on February 28.
The signing of the peace deal is set to coincide with Trump's 80th birthday and the UFC event he is staging at the the White House.
The president shared the latest update on Truth Social on Saturday afternoon.
'The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL. Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had,' the commander-in-chief wrote.
However, Iran disputed the timeline with foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said the deal would not be signed Sunday but 'could take place in the coming days.'
He told Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB that the country is committed to ending the war on all fronts and discussions on its nuclear capabilities would take place during a 60 day period once the agreement is reached.

According to the New York Times, if the agreement is signed on Sunday, it is likely to be done so electronically.
Though it is highly uncommon for diplomatic agreements to be done virtually, Trump is expected to be in Washington DC on Sunday to ring in his birthday with the UFC fight outside the White House.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the US and Iran have agreed to a framework for a peace deal that would be signed in the next 24 hours, Reuters reported.
Pakistan has remained neutral in the conflict and has acted as a key mediators between the two countries.
In his latest update, the president slammed predecessor President Barack Obama, stating that his administration's deal 'is the exact opposite' from his and that the middle eastern country 'no longer want a nuclear weapon.'

The president's latest comment on the war in Iran comes just days after he fumed that leadership in Tehran, Iran's capital, has leaked a copy of the impending peace deal.
Trump signaled on Thursday that Iran had agreed to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that would extend the ongoing ceasefire for 60 days, during which the two sides could negotiate the future of Iran's nuclear program and other specifics.
The MOU addresses Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium and reportedly discusses billions in sanctions relief. 'We're not quite at the finish line yet, but we're very close,' a senior White House official said of the MOU on Friday.
But on Friday, the President lashed out on social media, saying that the leaked terms 'have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to.'
'The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing,' Trump wrote. 'What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth.'
'Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith.'
Trump also said that Iran's drone attack on Thursday evening against Indian ships leaving the Strait of Hormuz 'is totally unacceptable'.

The PM has recently found himself phoning Trump allies to discern what Trump's deal entailed, but he was left in the dark as the process played out, a source told the publication.
Netanyahu's sidelining highlights the administration's reluctance to bring the Israeli leader into the final stage of negotiations to begin winding down the three and a half month long war.
