Miriam Shani, the widow of Capt. Uri Mordechai Shani HY”D, who fell battling Hamas terrorists at the Kissufim outpost on October 7, got married last night to Ofek, who served as Uri’s commander during his Egoz Unit training.
Uri was a 22-year-old Golani Brigade officer in the 51st Battalion. He fought for hours against Hamas terrorists near Kissufim before he was killed, leaving behind Miriam and their baby son, Roi.
Under the chuppah, Ofek spoke about Uri’s presence in their new home: “Uri is with us at every stage.” He called their marriage “a second floor built on deep foundations,” thanking Uri for “the first floor.”
