“Being a soldier is a privilege, not a burden. I’m not doing anyone a favor.”
These were the words found in the personal journals of Staff Sgt. Naveh Havshush H.Y.D after his fall in southern Lebanon.
“I’m going to serve with great joy, no matter where I end up,” he wrote.
“I want to give, invest, and influence as much as possible. Not because anyone forces me, but because this is why we came into this world.”
“This is why I’m in the army, so children can be born here in this land. Being a soldier is a privilege, a mitzvah, not a task.”
May his memory be a blessing.
