Come on. How many bachurim think it's not tzniusdik for a girl to wear a seatbelt? Sounds like Rabbi Orlofsky is engaging in his usual comedy and you fell for it.
It’s the seatbelts themselves that are the problem. They haven’t been tested for Shatnez. Get a special Shatnez- Free car certification from Tarnopol Hashgacha before inviting a shidduch date into your car.
Rebbetzin Bluma Sarah Horowitz, wife of Spinka Rebbe Yesochor Dov Berish Horowitz, lost her life when she was thrown from a car in a motor vehicle accident in Woodridge, New York in 2006. She was not wearing a seat belt.
