For the first time, former President Barack Obama’s office has directly responded to President Donald Trump’s accusations, strongly rejecting claims of criminal conduct during the 2016 election.
Spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush on Tuseday, called the allegations “bizarre” and “a weak attempt at distraction.” The statement cited the 2020 bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report, led by then-Senator Marco Rubio, which confirmed Russia’s efforts to influence the election but found no evidence that votes were manipulated to change the outcome.
