From: EMAILIM BATORAH
Saying that the establishment of the State of Israel was the אתחלתא דגאולה (the beginning of the redemption from the גלות) in a contemporary Yeshivishe crowd will, at best, invite ridicule; at worst, it will be labeled as outright כפירה (heresy).
Yet, over seventy-five years ago, a קול קורא (public declaration) was signed and publicized by some 200 prominent Rabbonim—many of whom belonged to אגודת ישראל.
In this historic proclamation, they explicitly stated that the founding of the State of Israel constituted an אתחלתא דגאולה.
Given this historical reality, it is profoundly difficult to explain how so many of the past generation's גדולים could have drastically erred in their דעת תורה, signing their names to an idea that today's Charedi world dismisses as כפירה.
Some of the signatories (not in any order)
R. Zev Schwartzman (father of R Dov)
R Zvi Yehudah Edelstein (father of R Gershon & R Yaakov)
R Reuvein Katz (Petach Tikva)
R Eliyahu Mishkovsky (Kfar Chasidim)
R Yaakov Landau {Bnai Brak)
R Rafual Kook (Tveryah)
R Zvi Pesach Frank
R. Binyamin Mendelson (Kommemiut)
R Yechiel Michel Tikuchinsky (Eitz Chaim)
R Zalmen Sorotzkin
R Yechazkel Sarna (Yeshivas Chevron)
R Yechiel Schlesinger (Yeshivas Kol Torah)
R Shlomo Zalman Auerbach (Yeshivas Kol Torah)

Readers, I left that in and didn't delete it, I want you guys to stop and think about this
A grown man took the time to do this, because he couldn't
argue on the merits, so like his toddler, he answered with a bunch of emojis
. This guy, my friends, may even have a wife and children. This is a direct result of the yeshiva system that he most probably comes from and he will continue to hand down these childish minhagim to the next generation!
We are in deep trouble!
Where’s the image of the chasimos?
Some signed it thinking that it would turn into a holy state, unfortunately the opposite happened. So everything that happens brings us closer to the geulah... but the state is treif.
Eli
There are no handwritten signatures, which means that even if you want to believe they actually signed it, they were probably not notified of the actual wording, just the general premise of the proclamation. Many of those would never call the state "aschalta d'geula". Nice try, but what took you so long to dig this up?
FASCINATING! The Daas Torah of the past Gedolim becomes the Kefirah & ridicule of the present
4:43
So you don't believe it? .... you can say this about every single halacha in Shulchan Aruch!
Oh wow! This is the halacha? Where is the chasimeh?
Eli
You make no sense; reread what you yourself just wrote and see if it makes any sense!
This was in 1948, when the ones in charge were the early Zionists, who you claim wanted to "oiker Torah" and there is no question that those who signed, The REAL GEDOILIM knew all this and nevertheless agreed to this.
They thought that Ben Gurion would make this a "holy state?"
You child!
5:19
Wow "they weren't notified on the actual wording"
Wow!
Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach had since this letter written hundreds if not thousands of letters and teshuvois and never said or corrected that he wasn't "notified"
Rav Tzvi Pesach Frank wrote hundreds of letters and Teshuvois that we have today and yet he never ever refuted anything in that letter! And Neuther did Rav Zalman Sorotzkin!
If you are allowed to speculate, I will speculate that the chazon Ish never wrote any of his seforim!
It doesn't fit into your perverted narrative so you deny it, like the Reform Jews, they deny the torah because it doesn't fit their narrative
This Kol Koreh was written on the 20th of Teves -Jan 21 1949 and appeared shortly afterward in both Agudah & Mizrachi newspapers. If any of these 200 Gedolim's signature were to have been forged there is no way they would have remained silent.
DIN 6:48 Gedolim are supposed to refute the wording of a Kol Korei, and if they don't, it means they believe every word? I never thought you knew what a Gadol is, and now you certainly proved it. Just a cursory look at the names reveals many who were publicly and privately against the secular state.
Sorry, but Gedolim sit and learn and have better stuff to do with their life, unlike your "Gedolim" who write blogs and support HH (which suffered a crushing defeat, worse than the Republicans did, even after your endorsement).
i guess, i can also become a gadoll if i agree with you

"Gedolim are supposed to refute the wording of a Kol Korei, and if they don't, it means they believe every word? "
Yes, it means that they "believe every word"
So are you saying that Gedoilim don't really believe what they sign?
Then we shouldn't believe a word any Gadol says or writes
"Just a cursory look at the names reveals many who were publicly and privately against the secular state."
So you don't consider those who signed, "Gedoilim?"
Rav Shlomo Zalman, Rav Tzvi Peasch and Reb Zalman Sorotzkin Gedoilim in your opinion?
I swear, guys, Charedim are sick and crazy !
