Having met a bunch, here's my observation.
Some of these are genuine. It's a thing where the guy looks in the mirror and says 'No, this is just wrong, I shouldn't have that thing hanging there.' Those folks come in and rationally explain why they think they're in the wrong body.
And then there's the teenage girl who, having seen the psychiatrist, gets multiple diagnoses and completely unable to handle her issues but when she announces she's really a boy, well that is something rational.
And then there's this new phenomenon where one girl announces she's a boy. She continues to have a feminine haircut, wear girls' clothing and makeup and for all purposes act like a girl but demands you call her "he". And suddenly another 10 girls in her class make the same announcement. That's what's going on here.
