First of all, yesh din v'yesh dayan. They can hafrash all the chalah they want. If God wants this man punished, He won't say "Oh well, Rabbanit Elyashiv was there so I can't do it." Second of all, it's about tribalism. Justice for the young woman would be a stain on the tribe as a whole and the tribe comes first. Her suffering in silence is a fulfillment of the mitzvah of protecting the tribe. Third of all, isn't it interested how Rabbanit has suddenly become a title with, presumably, some authority behind it? Here's the irony - a "Rabba" or "Maharat" in OO circles completes a degree program to get that title. All the "Rabbanit" has to do is get married to a Rabbi. So who should I respect more?
Oh, was he convicted already?? No, he wasn't. Don't we believe in 'innocent until proven guilty'?? I don't know this guy from a whole in the wall and based on what has already been said about him, I would not ever invite him into my house. Notwithstanding, I think that we should all hold off feathering and tarring him until he has had his trial and has actually been found guilty. It's easy to judge and besmirch someone, but we should be better than that and wait at least until all details have been exposed at trial.
The world over the frum kehillah’s will always support the child sexual abuses, I don’t think this will change in my lifetime but the amount of Sinas Chinom within the world’s frum kehillah’s also won’t change yet the frum (majority) people think their are the ones to bring moshiach
Agree. For now BOTH sides have a CHEZKAS KASHRUS and NIETHER SIDE should be besmirched. The victims should be confident that they will be respected and not ostracized before we know the truth… and they should also not demand that “we should believe all woman” before the trial.
