Chardeim Attacking the Chardeie Candidate Dr Naomi (Nehami) Yaffe

 


A few words about this video,  
Naomi gets a ton of mud slung at her online:  
'Stammering", "evasive,"  "scared", a "Haredi in disguise, etc."
  
And in my eyes, this video is exactly the opposite!  
You can see the sincerity, straightforwardness, courage, and morality in her eyes.  
Any reasonable person understands that this evasiveness is because the approval she got to run isn’t for public release—why? 

That’s a whole other issue.  
After all, she explicitly says she doesn’t do anything without rabbinical approval, especially and certainly not a dramatic step like running for the Knesset.  
The need of all sorts of journalists to back her into a corner and attack in an attempt to unsettle her  

In the end, it backfires on them. 
 
Because they’re the ones who come off as the aggressors (search YouTube comments on Naomi’s interview with Yaakov Grudka), and she responds with grace and a smile, thinks, sometimes stays silent.  

She’s new to this arena, and they don’t give her a moment’s grace! They interpret every hesitation as weakness, as ignorance, even though in terms of intellect she outshines them by leaps and bounds.  

Give me representatives like Naomi—those who don’t answer immediately with arrogance, don’t fire off populist responses from the hip.  
I want caring representatives, for whom the desire for change runs in their blood, it’s part of who they are.  

The Haredi sector matters to her, the country matters, the integration between them is critical for her; she’s running to right wrongs and repair the world.  

We always want good, honest people to represent us in the Knesset,  
But the prices those people have to pay, the mud they sometimes have to wade through, can deter them from running.  
I’m so thrilled that Naomi, despite everything, is willing to go through all this for the chance to make a change here. I hope she succeeds.
