I've always had an aversion to "Jewish Music" and tried to stick with "Israeli music". The latter is original and creative, not just a bunch of stolen secular tunes with the chorus of "Thank you haShem!" over and over again.
What a hypocrite ! As long as he made MONEY with GOYISHE songs it was good.Now that he's an old man and not popular he's against the same concepts that made him MONEY. ONCE HAVING A GOOD VOICE DOESN'T MAKE HIM HOLY OR HIS OPINIONS WORTH ANYTHING..
what about all the chasidisha polish KEL UDOIN marches?All music is copied and tweaked by all types od cultures? maybe our nusach for yom tov shabbos davening is legit mesorah. our laining with trupp is from har sinai so thats JEWISH MUSIC LOL
DIN I beg to differ Not fair pot shots at Mudche. MBD will be the first to admit that he went a little riske with some of his music in the 1980’s. On one interview, I heard him say that he changed after Let My People Go. He felt it was too much. However …. as my Father shlita always told me back then even though it was not what the old dor was used to, Mordechai’s songs had a Yiddishe Taam. Yes even the “rocky stuff” Today’s stuff sounds like bad disco of the 1990’s and has no semblance of yiddishkeit whatsoever
Reb Mordechai in the Zionce podcast was complaining about the over the top “dancing” that's more like they did at the חטא העגל clubbing.
While The Yidden Dance of 1986 was very batampte. It wasn’t wild. Mordechai was complaining about the vildkeit The few actual goyishe songs that he used were not bad.
Anyone with half an ounce of Emes will agree with MBD. Throwing Jewish words into some over the top bass beats does not make it “Jewish music”
"MBD complains about today's Jewish music" ? No, listen again, he clearly points out the outrageous chasenes madness which has totally gone out of control, and I agree with him 100%. And this can be measured by the number of guests preferring to make phonecalls outside on the parking lot during the simcha.
