Singer Avishai Levi killed by his own car in Yerushalyim

 

Avishai Levi z”l, a Haredi singer around 30 years old, was killed today in a heartbreaking accident on Adoniyahu HaCohen Street in Jerusalem.⁣

According to initial reports, Levi exited his vehicle when it began rolling and he was tragically crushed between the car and a pole. The driver apparently believed the car was secured, but it may not have been fully placed in park.⁣

Reports suggest the vehicle’s safety system, which is designed to prevent this by shutting off when the driver unbuckles, may have been bypassed. Some drivers avoid the automatic shutdown by keeping the seat belt fastened, which can prevent the safety feature from activating.⁣
