Israeli Seminaries Abandoning Girls for Sukkot

  Letter to the editor!

Seminaries Must Stop Abandoning Girls for Sukkot

The travesty that girls’ seminaries committed 30 years ago when my own daughters went to seminary, which I hoped they would have corrected when my granddaughter entered seminary last month, seems to still be alive and well!

I am referring to the fact that seminaries start only a few weeks before the Yomim Noraim, before the girls even have time to make contacts, yet the girls are expected to place themselves for Sukkot on their own! They are literally thrown out of their dorms!

A girl told my granddaughter that she never felt homeless before and now she feels homeless, having to find a place to stay for Sukkos!

The dorm is closed for the whole Yom Tov, so there is not even the possibility for the girls to stay in and the seminary to provide meals.

If the seminary wants the girls to come before the Yomim Noraim, they should be responsible for them. Otherwise, seminary should start after the Yomim Tovim.

All this, for the mere cost of $30,000+.

This causes some parents to come for Yom Tov, adding to the cost of the seminary year. And the way Yom Kippur comes out this year, it necessitates people to come for two-and-a-half weeks, something that many working parents simply cannot do.

When will seminaries stop this travesty and when will parents unite and refuse to send their girls, only to have to fend for themselves, making the transition to seminary that much harder.

 Enough is enough!!!

Orthodox Rabbis Affirm Female Status of Educator Talia Sarah Avrahami

On Sept 7, 2023 we posted a story about Talia Avrahami, below is an update!

Rabbi Professor Avraham Steinberg, MD – director of the Medical Ethics Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center and a leading halakhic authority – has authored a formal responsum (psak) affirming the female halakhic status of Mrs. Talia Sarah Avrahami.

In his ruling, dated 21 July 2025, Rabbi Dr. Steinberg defined Mrs. Avrahami’s case as a partial androginos (intersex condition) and concluded unequivocally: “therefore, her halachic status is female.” He issued this determination after reviewing Mrs. Avrahami’s complete medical documentation.

On 25 August 2025, Rabbi Asher Weiss, one of the generation’s foremost halakhic decisors (poskim ), affirmed the ruling by stating, “I agree with the conclusion of Rabbi Steinberg: Mrs. Talia Avrahami is a woman in every respect.”
Mrs. Avrahami said in a statement for this release:

“What matters to me most is that my husband, my daughter, and I can now live in peace without labels that never belonged to me and free from harassment. I am grateful to our generation’s leaders (gedolim) who affirmed my status as a woman, and I pray to serve Hashem with dignity as an ordinary Jewish woman.”

This ruling resolves earlier public misunderstanding by affirming Mrs. Avrahami’s female status. It has been recognized and accepted by leading Torah authorities (poskim) across the world, reflecting a broad contemporary consensus.

The James Comey I knew at the FBI fully deserves whatever is in store

The Justice Department’s announcement that former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of making a false statement and obstruction of a congressional proceeding is all but a fait accompli.

Pious, sanctimonious self-righteousness and hypocritical moralizing had long ago cost him his professional reputation. With charges of perjury and obstruction, Comey could face imprisonment. If that comes to pass, his tattered legacy will earn yet another stain.

More tragically, the narcissistic leader, who was relieved of his duties by President Donald Trump soon into his first term, will continue to damage the agency I love and served for a quarter of a century. And that makes me — and many others in my ranks — weary, saddened and angry.

Based on my own observations and those of my colleagues at the bureau, it was clear from the start that Comey was hellbent on altering FBI culture.

In the first of his five sermonizing books, 2018’s “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” the former director mused about his initial meeting with employees at FBI headquarters in 2013.

He describes placing himself atop a stool, sans suit jacket, but with a blue shirt and tie.

Tradition had long held that FBI directors wore dark suits and white shirts — keeping their jackets on while addressing employees in order to project proper image.

Yet per Comey, proudly resplendent in his blue shirt: “I thought that shirt color was one early, small way to set a different tone.”

Sadly, for so many of us at the bureau, Comey’s conduct and actions impacted far more than fashion at our agency.

Did the FBI Set Up Jan 6?? Bombshell report alleges FBI had 274 plainclothes agents in crowd during Capitol riot

President Trump raged Saturday at the bombshell report alleging the FBI had 274 plainclothes in the crowd on Jan. 6, 2021 — declaring that the bureau’s former director Christopher Wray “has some major explaining to do.”

The FBI had privately acknowledged the existence of those plainclothes agents, despite a Justice Department Inspector General report denying that they were there, according to a Blaze report on Thursday.

“It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again!” he went on. “I want to know who each and every one of these so-called ‘Agents’ are, and what they were up to on that now ‘Historic’ Day.

“Christopher Wray, the then Director of the FBI, has some major explaining to do. That’s two in a row, Comey and Wray.”

It is not fully clear if all of those 274 plainclothes agents were supposedly all in the crowd that ransacked the Capitol that day or if they were in other crowds engaging in protest activity.

The official Justice Department watchdog released a report last year about the Capitol riot, claiming, “we found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6.”

However, that same report noted that the FBI had 26 confidential human sources in the Jan. 6, 2021 crowd. That includes four who entered the Capitol Building despite not being authorized to do so.

Earlier this month, the GOP-led House voted to form a new subcommittee to investigate the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

“With that many paid informants being in the crowd, we want to know how many were in the crowd, how many were in the building, but I also want to know, were they paid to inform or instigate?”  Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), who chairs the subcommittee, told “Just the News” on Sept. 23.

The Post has contacted the FBI for comment.

Wray previously testified to Congress that the bureau did not instigate the riot, but refused to disclose how many informants were there that day.

“If you’re asking if the violence at the Capitol was part of some operation orchestrated by FBI sources or agents, the answer is no!” outgoing FBI director Christopher Wray told lawmakers in July of last year.

On Thursday, Wray’s predecessor, James Comey, was indicted on accusations of making a false statement to Congress. The charges stem from Comey denying to Congress that he authorized a leak to the media about the existence of an FBI investigation into Trump and a second one into Hillary Clinton.

The indictment was handed down days before the statute of limitations in the matter was set to expire.

Earlier this year, Trump issued a mass pardon of rioters who had been convicted on charges related to the storming of the Capitol.

“Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love of their Country. I owe this investigation of ‘Dirty Cops and Crooked Politicians to them!” Trump added.

The president’s instincts on the United Nations and “Palestine” are correct. But his Gaza plan, cooked up by Jared Kushner and Tony Blair, is misguided

The New York Times noted with dismay that there was a big difference between reactions to President Donald Trump’s speech to the U.N. General Assembly this week and the way his appearances at the world body were received during his first term.

In 2018, Trump was openly laughed at by the representatives of other nations. They regarded him as illegitimate and a buffoon, someone they didn’t have to take seriously.

And as much as the global bureaucracy still regards him, his ideas and his supporters with contempt, they’re not laughing anymore.

Instead, they’re politely applauding his rants from the GA podium the way they do for other leaders and then lining up to ask for meetings with the president to beg for favors.

In some ways, that’s all to the good.

At least for now, it means that the United States isn’t, as it was under the Biden and Obama administrations, automatically funding every malign, anti-American, antisemitic institution and initiative coming out of the corrupt world body and its agencies.

But the new deference he’s receiving is also fueling Trump’s foolish craving for a Nobel Peace Prize, coupled with international agreements that will burnish his reputation as the master of the “art of the deal.”

And that is not so good.

Who was really behind the recognition of "Palestine"

This past week, Canada, the UK and Australia formally recognized the State of "Palestine". There is now a decent possibility that the declaration of Israeli sovereignty over the "West Bank" is likely to follow. Hamas is now further from agreeing to a deal than ever, as they are rewarded for 7th October and riding high in Palestinian Arab polling. Peace in the Middle East looks further away than ever, thanks to this foolish and premature move.

There is more to it, though. How did these three countries align and synchronize in this manner?

The Hidden Hand of the Center for American Progress (CAP)

An influential progressive think tank, aligned with Qatar's agenda, has been quietly orchestrating a significant shift in Western policy towards Israel and "Palestine". The Center for American Progress (CAP), a Washington, D.C.-based NGO described by critics as a "pro-Qatar" organization, has used its global network to encourage allied governments to recognize a Palestinian Arab state and adopt more hardline positions against Israel.

Nasrallah didn't realize he was the next target for elimination

The IDF's Intelligence Directorate on Saturday night revealed that in the days leading up to late Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's elimination, he chose to remain in a bunker built with Iranian technology.

"Nasrallah remained in place and tried to plan counterattacks," the Directorate noted.

The Intelligence Directorate added that in the days preceding the elimination of Hassan Nasrallah, following the beeper operation and the elimination of Ibrahim Aqil, the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization remained in place, unaware that he was the next target for elimination.

In the days before his elimination, Nasrallah attempted to rebuild the organization’s capabilities and to plan counterattacks, but each was quickly foiled.

In his remarks during the moments following the elimination, IAF commander Tomer Bar promised, “We will reach them all, continue with the same professionalism, maintain the same composure, we are on the right path.”

In the midst of Nasrallah’s efforts to restore Hezbollah’s capabilities, the precise intelligence gathered by the Intelligence Directorate over the years enabled accurate identification of the location of his secret bunker, which was constructed using Iranian technology and remained highly compartmentalized, even within the organization’s most inner circles.

Exactly one year ago, on September 27th 2024, at 18:21, as part of Operation “New Order” and with precise intelligence direction, the Israeli Air Force struck the bunker with 83 bombs simultaneously.

The strike resulted in the elimination of Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, together with Ali Karkhi, Commander of the Southern Front, and additional senior commanders present in Hezbollah’s underground headquarters in Beirut.

During Hassan Nastallah’s 32-year reign as the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, he was responsible for the murder of many Israeli civilians and soldiers, and the planning and execution of thousands of terrorist activities. He was responsible for directing and executing terrorist attacks around the world in which civilians of various nationalities were murdered. Nasrallah was the central decision-maker and the strategic leader of the organization.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization, headed by Hassan Nasrallah, joined the Hamas terrorist organization in its war against the State of Israel on October 8th. Since then, Hezbollah has been continuing its ongoing and unprovoked attacks on the citizens of the State of Israel, dragging the State of Lebanon and the entire region into a wider escalation.

Microsoft blocks IDF from its cloud services for Listening in on Conversations between Terrorists

Microsoft announced that it will block Israel’s Unit 8200 of the IDF Intelligence Corps from accessing its Azure cloud services and will conduct an external review of its military collaboration, according to The Guardian.

The move follows an investigation revealing that Unit 8200 used Microsoft’s cloud to store, process, and analyze millions of phone calls from Palestinian Arabs in Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

According to the report, since 2022, Unit 8200 had uploaded extensive databases of Palestinian Arab phone calls to Microsoft’s cloud, as part of a project approved during a meeting the previous year between the unit’s commander and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Documents indicate that the system could process up to one million calls per hour, with the data stored on Microsoft servers in Europe. The information was reportedly used by the IDF for operational purposes, including arrests and targeting strikes.

The report also notes that Microsoft personnel and Unit 8200 engineers collaborated to build a system capable of scanning tens of millions of voice recordings and automatically classifying them.

In an internal message to employees, Microsoft President Brad Smith wrote, “We will not assist in mass surveillance of civilians.”

The company said it has launched an external investigation into the matter and has suspended Unit 8200’s access to certain services.

However, Microsoft’s cybersecurity services in Israel and the region will continue to operate as usual.

A security source said in response to the report that "there is no harm to the IDF's operational capabilities."

Yaakov Perl Who has Satmar Background Arrested for Spying for Iran

Perl at a Hamas Rally Days After Oct 7

A dual Israeli-American citizen was arrested this month on suspicion of spying on ex-IDF chief Herzi Halevi and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, police and Shin Bet announced Thursday.

The suspect, 49-year-old Yaakov Perel, apparently harbored a deep antipathy toward Zionism and had been living in Morocco for the past several years.

In 2017, he sought asylum in Iran for himself and his family but received no response from Tehran, police said.

Perel, for the past two years, had been writing articles against Zionism and publishing them on Iranian Telegram app channels. He attracted the attention of an Iranian intelligence agent after publishing a piece in the wake of slain Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah’s funeral. Israel killed Nasrallah, along with other Hezbollah leaders, during a war last year that was instigated by the Iran-backed terror group.

At the Iranian agent’s behest, Perel renewed his Israeli passport and relocated to the country in July this year, where he allegedly began collecting intelligence on public figures, including Halevi and Ben Gvir, which he passed on to his Iranian handlers.

He also took photos and videos of streets and other locations in Israel, police add.

The investigation of Rav Eliyahu Goldevsky who sexually abused his three daughters

‎Sarit Horowitz dared to break the bond of silence and told what her father, the well-known Rabbi Eliyahu Goldevsky, did to her and her sisters when they were children.

Now that he has been convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison, police investigators tell for the first time about the harsh testimonies they heard, and about the mother who claimed that "everything was for love"
until she heard the actual recordings – and about the rabbi's veiled threat of a "curse." "There are investigation files that you close, and there are those that will never leave you. this one of them."‎

Sarit Hurwitz was forced to carry a dark secret on her shoulders throughout her childhood.

For decades, she kept silent, while her father, the well-known rabbi Eliyahu Godlevsky, sexually abused her and her sisters inside the family home in Bnei Brak.

It was only at the age of 35, after a personal journey across seas and continents, that she showed up at the police station in Israel to do the unbelievable – to stand in front of her father to tell her story, and to make him pay the price.

"When I was pregnant with my son, the PTSD erupted in full force," she tells N 12magazine from her home in Chicago. "I realized that time was running out. It ignited an inner fire in me. I felt I had to take action."
