Well you have to see it from the liberal Jewish perspective. Liberal Jews are a unique minority. Every other minority - every single one - prioritizes themselves when it comes to advocating and activitism. Black lives matter, not all lives. It's all about Pride and how dare you not enthusiastically support us! Islam for everyone or you're an Islamophobe. Liberals Jews do the opposite. Advocating for everyone else is righteous. For ourselves? Selfish and parochial and we don't want the Gentiles to think we're like that. So Schumer is following that lead. He'll support every other group, especially the ones that hate us, because that's what makes his Judaism righteous.
