The Jerusalem Post’s opinion section has come dangerously close to throwing its supposed pro-Israel principles — as well as Jewish values in general — under the bus. In a bizarre op-ed piece, J-Post has declared that Kamala Harris is the solution “When we seek allies to preserve Israel’s place as a secure, democratic, enduring homeland for the Jewish people.”
Nothing could be further from the truth. Trump is absolutely correct when he says that Jews like this need their heads examined.
Author Joel Thal Simonds, a reform Jew and founding executive director of the Jewish Center for Justice, makes his case by sharing personal anecdotes and offering vague, fuzzy logic to explain why Kamala espouses pro-Israel policies and Jewish values.
He offers few details or examples to support his bogus claims, save for Kamala hosting a forum to support Hamas hostages and her involvement in sending aid funding to Israel after October 7. In addition, he absurdly attempts to quote the Talmud as a source for his disgraceful support for Kamala.
The only actual message Simonds conveys is that the organization he founded is as woke as Kamala, which is apparently why she has been so supportive of it. He essentially says that after Donald Trump became president, he refused to invite him to address his community, the way President Obama had done each year, because Trump does not convey Jewish values. So instead they called up Kamala Harris who “recognized a glaring need for moral leadership, and she stepped up to fill it. She wanted to be there to offer hope and guidance at a time when we were longing for both.”
Here is an excerpt from the op-ed:
“When we are yearning for security – for ourselves and our loved ones – Harris shows up for us. In a time when antisemitism is on the rise, when our safety seems under threat due to our faith when we have been painfully and unavoidably reminded of how fragile we can feel, the vice president has persistently led the fight against anti-Jewish bigotry.
“She understands that our fears are palpable. However, she never limits her advocacy to momentary statements or empty tweets. She acts. She’s helped develop and implement our country’s first-ever national strategy to counter antisemitism. She turns toward us when others turn their backs.”
Another tragic excerpt claims that Kamala’s cruel pro-abortion stance somehow espouses Jewish values, claiming that Harris “fights for a woman’s right to make decisions in the best interest of her body and her family, a Jewish value that is not only a matter of personal freedom but deeply connected to the preservation of life and dignity.”
Truly heartbreaking.
In another “analysis” piece, the Post makes the sad observation that “Doug Emhoff has played a crucial role as an envoy in reassuring Jewish voters that Vice President Kamala Harris would fight antisemitism.”
Yes, the game plan has been working. Even though Kamala chose an extreme leftist as her running mate, who supports a radical Islamic cleric and embraces Ilhan Omar, while forgoing Josh Shapiro and his crucial state of Pennsylvania, her trophy Jewish husband, who has done nothing tangible to assist Israel since October 7, is managing to convince secular Jewish voters (who are desperate for ‘permission’ to vote for Kamala) that Harris is the real pro-Israel candidate. And the polls show it is working, as once again, the majority of Jews support the Democrat nominee.
Sad.
Let’s hope the election is not determined by the (secular) Jewish vote or Jewish donors, both of which appear to be heavily distorted and living in an alternate reality.
They're out in the open now.Would've have been better all along
