This was a great opportunity to allow Iran to bomb the Har Habayis once and for all. I would like to know who made the decision to intercept this "holy" missile!
Former US Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman presented his "takeaways" to the massive Iranian attack and the response of Israel and its allies to the attack.
Friedman noted on social media that the attack against Israel, with more than 200 drones, cruise and ballistic missiles was "more aggressive and pervasive than expected".
"Israel’s response so far has been magnificent", he emphasized, "intercepting 99% of the incoming".
Friedman added that lots of help was provided by USA, UK, France and Jordan. "We are grateful", he wrote.
"Iran literally attacked the Al Aqsa Mosque", Friedman stressed, "Had Israel not intercepted the missile, 3rd holiest site in Islam was destroyed".
The former Ambassador stated: "This is the time for Israel, the West and the moderate Sunni nations to unite against this evil, terrorist nation".
Friedman then later added: "The fact that Israel and its Allies obliterated Iran’s onslaught of drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles doesn’t give Iran a free pass on its attempted murder on a mass scale. Iran needs to get a clear message that it cannot do this again".
Because then the kotel might be targeted too?

ReplyDeleteThe Kotel has no special kedusha it was the wall of the Chatzar! We all would have been happy if the Har Habayit had been bombed and if the Kotel was in it, so be it as long as there was no loss of Jewish life! In fact the Satmar Rav in his sefer "Al Hagula" writes exactly that, that Israel should have bombed the Har Habayis, it seems he wasn't concerned about the Kotel!
Kotel has only the kedusha of a regular shul no special status!
ReplyDeleteChazal say that the Shechina has never left the Kosel Hamaaravi. That makes it much more than “just a wall”.
DeleteThe State of Israel is a democratic country, that protects ALL of its citizens, including the Arab - almost exclusively Muslim - population. This particular mosque is very important to them, and Israel, as a fair, reasonable and just society, protects their house(s) of worship too. We would hope that if lehavdil a shul was under attack in a country where Jews were a minority, that the government would make every effort to protect us and our institutions, just as they would for all the other people of that country.

ReplyDeleteYou have to be kidding me, 99.9% of all Jewish Institutions in Europe, and Arab Countries have been actively destroyed! This was Iran a Muslim country launching a missile against their "own' Holy Site, Israel has absolutely no obligation to protect Muslims from Muslims! That's insane!

Chazal doesn't mean this Kosel, Chazal meant the Kosel of the Har Habayis, This kotel was the Chatzar and has absolutely no Kedusha of the Har Hambayis, it has the Kedusha of any Shul, this is not the Kotel that Chazal is talking about. It is the holiest place of Judaism (Satmar would disagree with me) only because of its proximity to the Makon Hamikdash, but again this is certainly not what Chazal was talking about!
If it didn't take place, it was Hashem's will. Daven harder for the third Beis Hamikdash.I
