Rav Eliashiv zt”l had 12 children, 4 of which are alive.
Last night, Rav Binyamin Eliashiv shlita met his sister Rabanit Israelson whom he had not seen in 11 years due to his hakpada not to leave Yerushalayim.
They met at a family wedding in Bnei Brak.
I'm confused. This wedding was in bnei brak but he has a hakpada not to leave yerushalayim??
ReplyDeleteBut there's women in the video. Only one is his sister. He saw women other than his sister (which is only permissible anyway according to lenient authorities). How could such a thing be published?
ReplyDeleteThey might be his other sisters, daughters or granddaughters.
DeleteReb Binyamin is a tremendous goen, and author of the very popular and useful series of seforim called "Yad Binyamin". At leat a couple of volumes can be found in most shuls.
ReplyDeleteHave a very simple question, does anyone in his right mind think for one minute, that this is what HASHEM wants.
ReplyDeleteNot to see your sister for 11 years, because of some kind of CHUMRA, not to leave Yerusholayim .
Being a GAON or TZADIK without common sense is worthless.
Recall reading the biography oh Harav Eliashev, that he didn’t recognize his own granddaughters.
Have the same question. Does HASHEM really want this ?, common sense tells us, absolutely NO
Moshe Rabainu separated from his wife for 40 years
DeleteHe has a Hakpada that prevents him from leaving Yerushalayim? Sounds like a very bad case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
ReplyDeleteI'm Confused i understand his hakpada not to leave yerushalem, but why couldn't his sister visit him?
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess she was makpid not to leave Beni Barak. ...anyways it doesn't look like they really missed each other.
ReplyDeleteWhen you get to that rarified air come back & we'll discuss.
ReplyDeleteThere were many over the generations who refused to leave E.Y.
