R’ Yaakov Horowitz on Pictures of Women in Jewish Publications

Renowned Chinuch expert Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz has posted a video on Instagram, discussing whether it is acceptable to have pictures of women in frum publications and the “public sphere.”

  1. The Jewish Observer used to publish pictures of women. If you say it's forbidden (and, according to Chareidi propaganda that means it's always been forbidden) you accuse those editors of being sinners. Is that allowed?

  2. The accepted Practice in chasidish/yeshiva/chareidi community is not to advertise with photos of woman
If someone has a personal opinion he is entitled to that but it doesn’t change anything
Its also better to express the opinion of a middle of the road competent rabbi rather than just a Layman/mechanech
Whose opinions don’t necessarily reflect mainstream middle of the road chareidi circles

  3. Ridiculous–
Those who did not believe in whitewashing women from black and white photos would suffer with difficulty in containing their indigestion from the photos in supposedly frum magazines

  4. DIN, don't fall for the Tvitter Rebbe Horowitz and his propaganda schemes.

This is his same pattern regarding molesters & everything else. And as UOJ would add, "it stinks!" Horowitz talks out of both sides of his mouth. When he sounds like the knight in shining armor coming to save the day it's because it's targeted to non-frumma millionaires who are mesmerized and then fly him to exotic destinations & might be paying him more for his speeches than Bill Clinton commands. But when it comes to taking action he's a scared ketzelah, worried to offend the Agudah Fressers he depends on for the other identity in his split personality. Wow you've got to see der Tvitter at the exotic locations, with unacceptable kashrus, running around in shorts & bright t-shirts - even on Yomtov! You pushet wouldn't recognize him! This is the ideal "Hasidic" rabbi to many of the secular with money!
