Lihi Lapid |
Lihi Lapid, the wife of outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid, sent a cease-and-desist notice to an individual who published a video that gives the impression that Lihi believes in the divinity of Jesus and is a "Hebrew Christian" or a Messianic Jew.
In her notice, Lapid demanded reparations of 100 thousand NIS from the individual, in addition to him deleting the video and publishing an apology video to his YouTube channel and Twitter account. If he does not comply, she warns that she will file a defamation suit for unlimited reparations.
According to a report in Israel Hayom, the notice states that the individual published a video on his YouTube channel that included a claim that Lihi Lapid believes in the divinity of Jesus.
"The video that you published to your YouTube, which received nearly 30,000 views, is a work of baseless and malicious conspiracy theories," the notice stated.
In addition, Lapid sent a notice to a Twitter user who claimed that Mrs. Lapid is a Christian and edited a photo of her to appear that she is wearing a cross. In addition to deleting the tweet, Lapid is demanding 10,000 NIS in reparations from the Twitter user.
Not sure what's worse, the guys who did this or all the Lapid haters who, with no proof, just accepted it and spread it around.
ReplyDeleteIf she is willing to go to court to clear her name, then in all likelihood it really was false info, what with the questions she would be exposing herself to in a litigation situation.
ReplyDeleteHer sister definitely IS a Yushke, but that standing alone does not make the case that Lihi is.
I initially was very reluctant to blindly accept that accusation, and now, her latest posturing has confirmed my instincts.
Back in the day in Philadelphia, the editor of the Jewish Exponent (the Judenrat rag) was accused of being a geshmatteneh Yid; I dug up the committee listings of his church and sure enough, he was on the Ministerial Selection Committee, the Sunday Services Committee, and the Outreach Committee. Which would not have been so bad, and would have been a simple irrelevant personal preference, except that the Exponent failed to cover a particular event that was reported in the general circulation Philadelphia tabloids -- the Cherem ceremony against the so-called "Messianics."
With Lihi, I would have liked to see something like a church membership listing or a mention in the newsletter or a video of her participation. Such damning evidence was conspicuous by its absence.
If her sister is one,,,
